  • Scotland’s Tenants Union, Living Rent, are campaigning against proposed plans for entirely private housing to be built on the sight of the old Ruchill Hospital.
They say that existing plans throw up more problems and more questions than answers. Alongside other similar campaigns across the city, Living Rent is taking on the corrupt practice of public land being sold to private developers.
Here Living Rent organiser Nick Durie, outlines the campaign, the problems with the development and how we should be looking to the future with any new housing developments in our neighborhoods.

I came across this video while searching about the Ruchill Hospital where my great granny died in 1920

Darn, I now came across the housing development. It's great that they're keeping the tower, since its the icon of Highpark, and considering that Ruchill Tower is a listed building too... But come to think of it though, housing development was a good idea, since it helps homeless people and helps refugees coming from third world countries like Syria, Yemen and all that. And even helps homeless people on the streets as well, But the bad side was is that I just liked the tower out on its own.
