Not only is the playlist setting this grandiose mood, but the clothing from this collection, the pop of color, gold embedded within the clothing pieces; and the satin and silk sheer?? It's beautiful. Tired of typical black and white, and Tom Ford lets us know that post-pandemic is extravagant and freeing.

It's a really specific vision--something fresh--& maybe it means Tom Ford has found some inspiration again. And the models were absolutely perfect. You can tell they like the clothes
I think that's fair... but, I also see how he has a particular target customer. none of his stuff is too avant-garde or over the top. it caters more to the wealthy looking for some glamor, whilst remaining conservative. something similar to other high end brands like loro piana. nevertheless, i agree, this collection looks magical and i was also happy with the 2021 winter show with the breastplates and etc.

Tom did what Armani tried to, but Tom Succeeded! Armani's were "contrived," almost dress-up, Costumes. These clothes Flattered the models, Especially the shoes. Great selection of small to large handbags to totes, and very small carry accessories. Loved the fabrics, high shine and in bright, jewel tones. Gold used masterfully! A Beautiful Collection! You know, I was looking away with disinterest until the 3:26 mark appeared. And I will tell you what, the lad in white…goodness…is the highlight of the night! My! What a gorgeous fashionista!!!
I know you love this, but really, this could be any Tom Ford show from any season before or his tenure at Gucci. He does glamour very well, and his shows are experiential between the cool, dim lights and the parade of models stealthily walking to the latest synthy beep bop music. From my point of view, is there anything else in his bag of tricks? Although I do have to say, I loved how the pants/trousers were tucked neatly behind the ankle straps of the high heels. That was “different,” but ultimately, it was more of a styling choice than a new and inventive way of understanding fashion.
I was thinking this, as well. It's really nothing new, just a re-tread of the past few seasons combined. The chain-covered jackets and long silver one at the end are pretty amazing, though, and I loved the blue velvet moment.

Designers who had a vision but more interestingly a technical voice that they used to articulate a discussion around what was happening in the world. Cardin, with his futuristic visions and McQueen on any number of issues. Regarding those two, they delivered a sense of newness with each collection--especially McQueen. At the moment, Robert Wun out of CSM is doing some interesting things with draping, but really, there aren't a lot of trailblazers at the moment.
I went into a Tom Ford boutique in Las Vegas about 6 years and the womens clothes were Georgous. The Quality was very high. Fast forward to now.. and the quality has taken a nosedive becuase the clothes aren't selling well. Same with Valentino.. the dresses 5 years ago were very high quality but becuase the Valentino rock stud era is over and the quality of the clothes have nosedived.
....i never thought of TOM....as anything other than a creative director / stylist....he certainly has had access to the greatest houses and their archives but that was never his strong suit....he lusts to sell sex and edge....referencing the 70s and 80s....of course his scents and accessories keep him at the top...but i have never lusted to wear any of his clothes...nor has he ever knocked me out on a technical level....
