Like me I’m sure you’ll hit 50 and look back and laugh and silently think what the HELL was I doing climbing into a dirt pit with no quick way out! I enjoy your videos keep um coming!
Consider finding a used car lot that has a set of car display ramps. You know the ones where they place the car up front on display.. you can find those pretty cheap and they are safe.
Well I certainly expected to see some really sketchy 2inch or 3inch lift kit. But I think you may have just given me an idea that I can use on my truck cause I need one lmao
Myself and my cousin are always camping north of Bennington. We do a lot of shooting to. Mostly targets and trees. We drive our jeeps up into the woods and have tons of fun in your neck of the woods. Vermont is indeed gods country. Our normal supplies are a couple of half gallons of vodka, few cases of beer, a bunch of mixers, and lots of marinated steaks. Some of the best times of my life.
Good thinking. I have a neighbor in VT that made a pretty sweet giant ramp setup using old telephone poles as the posts and rough cut as the boards to drive on. It has been usable for over 20 years. I just installed a lift this winter and it is a dream. They are getting pretty cheap these days for the chinese ones. Get yourself a set of hip waiters because you are going to need them when it pours tomorrow.
I have the same truck as the one you just bought. Was just driving down a mountain pass and smelled something like rubber burning then my breaks got REALLY soft. Had to downshift and go slow to the bottom. CAREFULLY made it home. Anyone have a clue what I should look at first in the morning? Old girl got hot rodded a bit with heavy braking, think something burned up. Just changed pads and rotors maybe 2 months ago. No check engine or abs lights.
@@ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182 that may be the case. I have been doing research all morning and I guess it's a common issue with gm. My 97 had really soft brakes. Most people on TH-cam are throwing parts at it and not fixing the problem. My brakes were working better intermittently once I got down to the bottom but are still sketchy if you have to stop quick. I'll inspect my pads and rotors today and look for leaks. Maybe do a bleed. Thanks for replying.
Hah, I did the exact same thing almost 15 years ago, but it tool me like a week with nothing but a shovel, pickaxe and a whole lot of determination. I don't know why people don't use pits anymore, they're still far more useful than jacking the car on stands to have any room to look under it.
*that's cheaper than my resolution. i spent $1,700.00 and bought a set of Quick jacks from bendpak. with thew SUV adapters. your pit s sorta sketch but if the ground is that well packed like you said, shouldn't be a problem. Concrete it up and maybe throw in some steel rebar and it'll be just as good as Jiffy lube's* i could really use a tractor just like that on my 6.5 acres here in TN
Better hope it doesn't rain to much. Then you'll have a swimming pool as well 😁 One of those out door steep incline drive on ramps seem to work pretty well though. Something like this guy built but would would build it a little more level . the tractor seat I would just repair and reinforce a bit what you have instead of paying for another cheapo seat.
Undercoat or fluid film? Check out Mustie1's videos on the dangers of undercoating an already rusty frame. You'll trap the rust and moisture which will make it worse. I'd say, remove the crusty rust and use bar and chain oil to soak the frame.
Don't use a rubberized undercoating use an oil based. rubberized will trap any moisture and rust inside and will continue to rust even though you may not see it. check out Fluid Film super cheap on amazon get a spray gun with wands and one gallon will be plenty.
Hi, hows the Volvo 240? Is Vermont is it in lockdown? You will have to excuse me as I'm not sure of its location as I'm from England and haven't been to America....yet! Thank for the video. Stay safe, stay well.
