I'm not saying they going into fights but they weren't exactly best friends and that was well known . Clearly you haven't seen every interview. They probably liked working with each other but didn’t like how their characters were portrayed. If that was the case I wouldn’t blame them. It seems like some of them were friends with each other but that most of them weren’t friends. I’ve seen pictures of them together off set but also heard that most of them weren’t friends. And I mean there’s nothing wrong with not being friends with your costars not all co stars click that way.

Please, the unhealthy environment they are taking about was making everyone go out and have some chemistry in the show and also some of the fueds, Taylor was not speaking out about that but instead making things difficult, not remembering her lines even though it is her job, if she did it to get them to push Jenny as more of a crazy seething teenager then I understand why because if she kept playing Jenny as the way she was in the beginning people would feel weird watching Taylor perform her music, but if she just did it to cause trouble then wow she needs to work on herself.

I am 16, it is not an age thing it’s a personality issue, many people are 16 and don’t act that way, but people with that personality do act that way, it is a personality issue something you work on. If she was having issues with her parents then I feel for her, people in the acting business tend to have the worst parents, hopefully her case was better, but she was hurting people that had done nothing to her, her fellow actors did not deserve to have her forget her lines over issues with her parents.

If we are being honest, it may not have been right for the producers/directors to encourage them to mingle and hook up with eachother during filming but it 100% worked. The main reason people love the show is because the intimate scenes feel, well...really intimate! ahah
I just have to share. When I was young, I was busy having and raising kids. I never had time for tv. Now that my kids are just about grown, shows like this are my guilty pleasure. After watching both Gossip Girl and the OC, I found out that Leighton married Adam Brody and I was so happy! LOL
i don't know why people assume that just because you work with somebody you should be friend or best friend with that person. In fact you can have a great relationship with that person, joke, laugh, go out for something to drink and still not being your friend! That doesn't mean you hate him/her
When Gossip Girl was originally airing, I was there age. I think that's part of what attracted me to the show. I'm sure this time around will be even more scandalous but now I'm older and I dont feel like watching teenagers getting into scandals and situations my old ass hasn't even been in. Leighton forgave Jessica but broke up with Sebastian. Blake was very, very reluctant to play Serena the wild, drug using party girl. She was brought up very Southern Baptist and she doesn’t drink, smoke, party or swear. That’s why Serena is regretful and embarrassed by her past behaviour and the character on the show is more understated than depicted in the books. Chase was a big fan of the books but is concerned about being typecast. Penn hates his character Joe Goldberg in You more than he hated Dan and is very uncomfortable with how popular his serial killer role has become.

In my opinion the cast is correct if there is a reboot make them play a lot older people. It was a great melodrama for their time you know filming and the two crazy elections and a plague later means they need to test their acting chops in something more realistic in another place and another time. Gg is my fav show hands down, but it’s getting annoying to know that all actors complained for getting a job that they all auditioned for and made their careers, they all should be a little more grateful. The only one that I see isn’t sweating it is Ed Westwick
It’s also one of my fave show . I actually miss all the CW shows, although Netflix is trying to do better with outer banks and Wednesday(finally figured out they need a cast with better chemistry). I think though they played out their characters, 6 seasons was a long time, and it’s time for them to all move on and take on new roles(they first started at 19-20 , they have a different perspective now as older adults). But yeah Ed seems to like to reminisce about it during his interview last year .
The show runners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage encouraged the cast to date each other (and they hyped that what happened on screen was happening offscreen in real life.) So, they did. That idea backfired when Leighton Meester found out that her boyfriend Sebastian Stan was cheating on her with her good friend Jessica Szohr, Ed Westwick’s girlfriend. Leighton forgave Jessica but broke up with Sebastian. Blake was very, very reluctant to play Serena the wild, drug using party girl. She was brought up very Southern Baptist and she doesn’t drink, smoke, party or swear. That’s why Serena is regretful and embarrassed by her past behaviour and the character on the show is more understated than depicted in the books. Chase was a big fan of the books but is concerned about being typecast. Penn hates his character Joe Goldberg in You more than he hated Dan and is very uncomfortable with how popular his serial killer role has become.

Blake said they were young obviously but were working 16,17 hour days… for years! That’s tremendous stress & no where near easy. They all did great.. apart from taylor for who which i think is something terrible happened while filming the show cuz after it? She left acting.
She’s said that singing was her priority. And she was disappointed that a spin-off show starring her fell through. Nothing terrible happened to Taylor. Penn Badgley interviewed her on his podcast Podcrushed, which has a TH-cam channel of the same name.

If she hadn’t found out, Leighton wouldn’t have ended up with Adam Brody, who got her to change her mind about never getting married. This year is their 10th wedding anniversary.

I used to love this show
In my opinion the cast is correct if there is a reboot make them play a lot older people. It was a great melodrama for their time you know filming and the two crazy elections and a plague later means they need to test their acting chops in something more realistic in another place and another time. Doesn't matter if they hate each, they are all pretty good actors who got old before my eyes when I binged on this series. No one even cares about the actual players of the adults in the room. What about Rufus and Lilly? They are good actors, too.
