My parents watched this game at a bar in Firenze while on holiday. They said that the only waiter who would serve them after the 2-3 goal was an older man from Napoli who apologized profusely for the behaviour of the "northern bastards" (His words, not mine) who didn't know how to lose with honour.
Trivia. To this day (8th sept 2020) this was the last competitive game that Italy lost at home.
This mathematically ended Wales' chances of qualifying, which momentarily lit up with wins against Belarus and Denmark.
Schmeigel did not look good at any of the two Italian goals. Good our attackers could make up for that.

Fuser e Vieri vantaggio per poi farci riprendere così che delusione... Fiser che gol dei suoi missile su punizione pazzesca al set e Vieri dopo che a San Siro in Inter - Verona fece una mostruosa tripletta che ci fecero vincere 3-0 una stellare partita giocata da squadra vera, poi fa un bellissimo gol anche in nazionale, peccato la sconfitta perché meritavamo di vincere ma difesa assente nel secondo tempo...
Det var da også flot spillet a Danmark, der var kreativt nok til at skabe chancerne til målene.
Jo bedre organiseret et forsvar er, desto mere kreativitet kræves.
