That way you can learn about all the terms of you’d like to, and other people who are curious can read abt em here C: To start, a therian is someone who non-physically (so either emotionally, spiritually, or psychologically) identifies as an animal-so they understand they’re a human physically-due to involuntary animalistic behaviors/urges !! A theriotype(s) is the animal(s) you identify as based on those behaviors/urges :3 It’s not something you choose, like what a lot of people think, it’s something you find out you are ! Thats pretty much the definition as I remember it :} For me, my dragon kintype is theriomythic, which is kinda like a middle-ground between therian and otherkin. Otherkin means “a subculture of people who identify as partially or entirely nonhuman.” Typically, to be a dragon in an otherkin way is a dragon who is magical, can speak to humans, all-knowing, has a human intelligence, or anything along those lines. So theriomythic would be when you identify as a mythical creature, but you feel it’s more animalistic, like you’re just another creature. So my dragon identity would be a dragon that can’t speak English, can’t use magical powers, is not as intelligent as a human, etc etc. So it’s leaning more towards how a therian identity would feel, because since it’s a mythical creature (not a real animal) it can’t be a theriotype :> (Think like the dragons in httyd, that’s like me !) All of those things fall under the Alterhuman umbrella, which was another term I mentioned in the video :0 It means: “individuals who have identities that are beyond what is traditionally considered being human” And also, theres otherhearted, which is when you don’t identify as an animal/creature, but rather identity with it because of having such a strong connection to said animal/creature :] So while all the other terms are based on behaviors, or anything alike, otherhearted is based on feeling a strong connection ! This tail came from a taxidermist on Etsy who ethically sources all of their stuff :0 And I made sure to double and triple check before buying it too ! Is that not okay though ??? A therian can feel that they’re an animal on an emotional, spiritual, or psychological level :0 A furry, on the other hand, is someone who has an interest in anthropomorphic animals, which would be animals who have human level intelligence, can wear clothes, stand up on two legs, and generally behave like humans ! Both therians and furries can choose to wear things that make them look more like an animal, so I absolutely understand where the confusion comes from ! When therians wear animal-related things, it’s in a way to connect with or represent their theriotype (the animal(s) they identify as), and furries can wear fursuits, which are animal costumes that usually are made to look like their fursona (which is an anthro animal character that one creates), while some furries can wear fursuits of different characters aswell ! And alot of therians are also furries-like me !! I’m both a therian and furry :} It’s quite common for people to be both ! As a child I would always pretend to be an animal, tell others that I was one, etc etc. It was a pretty big thing to me as a child, so when I later heard of therianthropy being a thing, I knew I must be one :0 Over time I’ve done research, and found my theriotypes ! Of course, it’s not just things I did in the past that pointed towards me being a therian, but things I currently do aswell ! Everything from the way I walk, eat, etc, to phantom shifts and more ! The first one of my current theriotypes for me to be awakened as was the caracal, but over time I’d notice that there’s more to it then that, so I’d start looking into other animals and awaken another theriotype :0 So yeah, if you’d like tips for how to discover your own therio/kintypes, or if you’re alterhuman at all, I’d be more than willing to try and help ya out ! ^^ Regardless, I wish you the best of luck !!! I know questioning is difficult :o And a hearttype is the animal/creature/etc that a otherhearted person feels a very strong connection to, and identifies with, rather than identifying as said creature ! :] (I had responded to someone else in this comment section with the definitions/meanings of a few alterhuman related terms, and otherhearted was one of em, if you are curious :})
@@toximech You’re welcome !! :> And alr ! ^_^ Here’s some tips and things to remember/consider: - The thing that helped me the most is to have someplace to write down all the things you notice, any behaviors, urges, shifts, etc etc ! If you act a certain way when in distress, or when happy. If you have urges to hunt, or cravings for certain foods. If you ever made certain animal noises (vocals). If you’ve ever had shifts of any kind, maybe there’s a certain animal limb you keep feeling, you could try to match it to an animal ! I have two domestic theriotypes, and I’d always found myself wanting to have some of the items used on those animals on me (for example, horse stuff like tack, food and water buckets, blankets, stalls, their food, brushes, are all stuff that I’ve wished I could use in a horse way. And the same could be said about dog stuff too ^^) All of these things can be written down ! This could be in a physical thing like a notebook, or just the notes app on your phone :} - Try to meditate ! There’s a guided meditation somewhere around here on TH-cam for therians/otherkins to find out what your therio/kintypes are ! I don’t remember exactly what it’s called, but if you search for a guided meditation for therians it should pop up :3 Some ppl have said that meditation isn’t the best method though, so it might be better to do later on, your behaviors and urges should come first ! - For me, when I get a phantom shift, not only do I feel ears, or a tail, etc, but a picture also pops up in my mind of said limb :0 So, when I was questioning what type of dog I was, I was brought back to various memories where I would feel more dog like, but also have an image in my mind of what I looked like, if that makes sense :O I would always see myself as a golden retriever, every time. And it wasn’t because I liked them, because I actually didn’t really pay the specific breed any mind when I was a kid, it’s just what I felt I was ! A similar memory popped up when I was questioning my horse theriotype, which helped me with that :3 Idk if it’s some kind of shift ? And idk if it’s a shared experience, but if you happen to have any memories similar to that, it might be worth putting some thought into :> - Remember that having a connection to a certain type of animal isn’t what makes it your theriotype, it’s all in the behaviors ! Though most therians would probably say they do have a connection to their theriotype, that’s not what makes it their theriotype. It’s very possible that your therio/kintype could be a creature that you actually dislike, or even hate :0 So remember to be open to every species ! - Is there a specific environment/biome/place in nature that oddly feels like home ? It could be your therio/kintypes habitat ! If you know what your habitat is, that can help you a ton with figuring out what your identity is :] My sea wolf theriotypes habitat is one that I’ve always felt very strongly about, and loved, so that helped me a lot when questioning that theriotype ! - Read other therians/otherkins experiences ! Community is really important, and everyone’s experience is different, so it’s really helpful to hear from multiple different people ! :> I think that’s all I can think of at the moment :} Hopefully atleast some of that stuff is helpful to you !!! It’s all more therian-centered ofc since that’s what I know more about, but I’m sure people online have some good tips for otherkin specific stuff !

The first one of my current theriotypes for me to be awakened as was the caracal, but over time I’d notice that there’s more to it then that, so I’d start looking into other animals and awaken another theriotype :0 So yeah, if you’d like tips for how to discover your own therio/kintypes, or if you’re alterhuman at all, I’d be more than willing to try and help ya out ! ^^ Regardless, I wish you the best of luck !!! I know questioning is difficult :o
And a hearttype is the animal/creature/etc that a otherhearted person feels a very strong connection to, and identifies with, rather than identifying as said creature ! :]

And alr ! ^_^ Here’s some tips and things to remember/consider:
- The thing that helped me the most is to have someplace to write down all the things you notice, any behaviors, urges, shifts, etc etc ! If you act a certain way when in distress, or when happy. If you have urges to hunt, or cravings for certain foods. If you ever made certain animal noises (vocals). If you’ve ever had shifts of any kind, maybe there’s a certain animal limb you keep feeling, you could try to match it to an animal ! I have two domestic theriotypes, and I’d always found myself wanting to have some of the items used on those animals on me (for example, horse stuff like tack, food and water buckets, blankets, stalls, their food, brushes, are all stuff that I’ve wished I could use in a horse way. And the same could be said about dog stuff too ^^) All of these things can be written down ! This could be in a physical thing like a notebook, or just the notes app on your phone :}
- Try to meditate ! There’s a guided meditation somewhere around here on TH-cam for therians/otherkins to find out what your therio/kintypes are ! I don’t remember exactly what it’s called, but if you search for a guided meditation for therians it should pop up :3 Some ppl have said that meditation isn’t the best method though, so it might be better to do later on, your behaviors and urges should come first !
- For me, when I get a phantom shift, not only do I feel ears, or a tail, etc, but a picture also pops up in my mind of said limb :0 So, when I was questioning what type of dog I was, I was brought back to various memories where I would feel more dog like, but also have an image in my mind of what I looked like, if that makes sense :O I would always see myself as a golden retriever, every time. And it wasn’t because I liked them, because I actually didn’t really pay the specific breed any mind when I was a kid, it’s just what I felt I was ! A similar memory popped up when I was questioning my horse theriotype, which helped me with that :3 Idk if it’s some kind of shift ? And idk if it’s a shared experience, but if you happen to have any memories similar to that, it might be worth putting some thought into :>
- Remember that having a connection to a certain type of animal isn’t what makes it your theriotype, it’s all in the behaviors ! Though most therians would probably say they do have a connection to their theriotype, that’s not what makes it their theriotype. It’s very possible that your therio/kintype could be a creature that you actually dislike, or even hate :0 So remember to be open to every species !
- Is there a specific environment/biome/place in nature that oddly feels like home ? It could be your therio/kintypes habitat ! If you know what your habitat is, that can help you a ton with figuring out what your identity is :] My sea wolf theriotypes habitat is one that I’ve always felt very strongly about, and loved, so that helped me a lot when questioning that theriotype !
- Read other therians/otherkins experiences ! Community is really important, and everyone’s experience is different, so it’s really helpful to hear from multiple different people ! :>
I think that’s all I can think of at the moment :} Hopefully atleast some of that stuff is helpful to you !!! It’s all more therian-centered ofc since that’s what I know more about, but I’m sure people online have some good tips for otherkin specific stuff !

@@editasmrr no no absolutely! well, what i remember is, i was one morning walking across a road, and it was basically out in the country side, so i didnt expect ny cars. However, as i was walking i sadly got hit by a random car (maybe a honda) or i got shot with a shotgun for "trespassing" on a property around 6am !
