Take a bow Damian, Si H and all those involved in this and getting him to this point. So proud to see him being humble yet proud of his achievements... See you soon guvnor and I will have a tea 🍵... 👏👏
I grew up looking up to Ritchie the legend MacDonald. You and Rod Hutchinson were anglers that pioneered big fish angling paving the way for what it is now. Your Cassien Angling Times series was and still is the best article ever written and you Sir inspired my generation to never give up. Ritchie MacDonald me and my mate Phil Goodwin laughed about your stories until we cried mate. When I read your Redmire close season capture we punched the air in honour of your great capture. I will pray for you Ritchie. God bless you.
I'd never listened to podcasts before. I'm not a carp angler but do fish for carp. They have just been fascinating from a sociological point of view. Your a great interviewer. You have a way of keeping the humanity. Sad to see Dani didn't bother showing up for your last podcast. Speaks volumes if you ask me ( which you probably don't)
The man’s royalty in carp fishing and responsible for so much that’s happened on the scene today. This is very special. Well done Damo - you’re an amazing inspiration to us all around supporting friends in times of need. Congratulations ‘Geezer’ on your return to carp fishing. So happy for you on your road to recovery.
Nice to hear about the Alfred Bull bivvies. They were for 42 inch brollies and weighed an absolute ton. No idea how Richie managed to keep them up with garden canes. I gave mine to Chris Ball before I emigrated. Proper bit of kit there.
Richard Lloyd caught his 46lb fish from the University of Surrey Research Park in 1990. It was a small lake that had a warm water outlet from the labs and it was strictly no fishing. There were 2 other lakes on site that had carp in around that time and none of fish ever went anywhere near that size. Went to uni there and fished them all from 1993
I was one of the youngsters who benefitted from fishing with Richie at a fish in at Farlows, Im so glad hes doing well now. I was also there when Damien caught his first big fish at the garrison. Like Ritchie I have been out of carp fishing now for 30 years but this podcast brings many happy memories back.
Ritchie Mac the man the myth the legend great to see him back and this by far is the best of the korda pod casts . Hood luck to Simon in whatever your moving on to in the future I'm sure you will smash it like you have these podcasts
If your gonna go out, go out on a high note. And this was certainly one of them. What a lovely show, I have enjoyed all of them and a big thanks to korda Toby and Simon you all did a wonderful job making this top notch, and good luck to you Simon in all you do. And good luck to Ritchie as well may he always find happiness in his fishing and friends, what a legend!
Thank you Ritchie. Hope you will never catch your last one, you've still got the knack. I've enjoyed this so so much. Wish you all the best from Holland. One of the all time kings of Carpangling.
Simon what a fantastic set of podcasts you've made, listened to every single one. The best thing is they will be online forever for future generations to listen to and to keep the stories of all these anglers going.
Superb Podcast Great to see Ritchie back behind the Rods & fishing for carp again Well done Damian + Good luck Simon thanks some fantastic Pod casts over the 2 years
Welcome back Richy... True legend... Your catches got me into carping in the 80s... And Damon... You need a medal bloody well done bringing this amazing angler back 👏👏👏👏

Wow... What a podcast. Listening to Ritchie tell those stories you could almost be there. It just shows you with good people around you, Damian, family, Korda etc... You can overcome many things. Good luck in the future fella 👍

Great to see a legend of the carp world back with us, remember seeing those captures back in the day. What a great interviewer Simon is, hopefully we'll seen him on our screens again.
Too young to know who Richie really is but it's good to hear he is getting the support he needs from the carp fishing industry. Sounds like he's back on the right track and a new chapter in his life has begun. Wish him all the best for the future. 🎣
What a great podcast, great memories of Ritchie working in Arnold's Tackle and helping me sort my first set of proper carp rods. Great to hear his stories and adventures.
never like pod cast until i found Thinking Tackle Podcast, i have enjoyed every one so far ,this one was class ,i made it last 4 days because i did not want it to end , may the rest live up to what has already been done ,and a big thank you to all involved in the making of them ,
Absolutely loved this I could sit all day and listen to Richie Mcdonald what a absolute legend great to see hes back at it and for the record if I ever walked into his swim I would never refuse a brew even if I was able to get on the fish I would give it up to chat to Richie hats off to damion and everyone who have made it possible for Richie to make a comeback and lastly good luck Simon on your new adventure and thanks for may happy hours of podcasts they've been really enjoyable this one has to be the top of the tree though for me can't wait to see more of Richie hopefully he will make a appearance at the northern angling show as I would love to meet him great to see you back I thought the cypography interviews were just a one off but this has made my year 😀
Richie McDonald💙 they don't make them like him anymore absolute legend of the game ,,korda need to make a vlog with richie and Tom stokes fishing and chatting together on the bank they would compliment each other the old and the new,,,,sort it out korda would make a excellent vlog you can only imagine the conversations they would have between them 👌
Another enjoyable podcast, Richie seems like a great guy glad he's got his passion back hopefully keep him on the straight and narrow! Si, sorry to hear your leaving end of an era always enjoyed these podcasts, thank you! ! Wish you the best of luck in your next venture!
When someone like Rod Hutchinson says Richie had the knack with the bigger fish you know he's a bit special. A true character and a carp fishing legend. Brilliant guys thank you.
what a fitting way to end it well done to all involved its been an absolutely fascinating series of podcasts from beginning to end thankyou for all the time and effort that must of gone into producing it looking forward to seeing where it goes from here with a new presenter
I thought i remembered the name Ritchie Macdonald . It wasn't until he said about tickling a carp from gunersbury lake . My grandad used to talk to him loads down their . And I do believe he was talking to my grandad when I had my first ever carp . My grandad always said that's is one special man . And you know what my grandad wasn't wrong. Big up damon and welcome back to a true legend
Having been a match angler in the 80’s and 90’s carp anglers were unknown to me with the exception of the anglers on tv at the time. However having been a carp angler myself for the past 20 years and read every magazine article about the history of carp fishing i now know just how influential Richie was. Also i believe that when he caught Bazil in 1984 which was then the 2nd largest carp ever caught it changed carp fishing into what we see today. That capture must have inspired a generation of anglers and almost certainly kick started the modern day carp fishing era. An absolute fishing legend and all round top bloke 👏👏👏 Well done to Damian for persuading Richie to reignite his passion for carp. So sad to hear that Simon is leaving,i was gutted when i heard Jeff Stelling was leaving Sky Sports but when i heard Simon was leaving it was a whole new level of sadness 😭 Simon has been an incredible presenter and has been involved in so many fantastic podcasts. He has an Attenborough type soothing tempo to his voice and is softly spoken which makes each episode great to hear either in the car or on youtube on the tv. I wish him all the best in the future and i hope the Korda Podcasts continue to grow with whoever takes over the famous headphones.
Best podcast ever to date in my opinion.... simply because of the humble back story of reviving a legend. A big covid👊to everyone involved in the process of making this happen, as Ritchie is clearly touched by all of this and he ain't letting no one down, I believe, based on the character of the man I saw. Good luck with your sobriety RIchie, good luck Simon and good Karma to all those that played their part. 👏👏
What a super ending to your podcast journey Si, Being blown away watching you and Julian Cundiff bring it real whilst showing the rest who followed thinking "They've gotta do that". As for Richie Mcdonald's new lease of life #bigrespect. Oh and a fist pump to Toby in the background for his professional commitment to this fabulous show, seasons greetings Korda.
Really enjoyed that, great podcast as always and great to see Richie on the right road again and full of beans, Can't say how disappointed I am that Si going and no more korda p/casts, gutted! But wish him the very best of luck for the future and thanks to all involved for this series.. 🙂🎣
Had the pleasure of being on the bank with him back in the day, and he oozed confidence, and was so tolerant of us kids being around him ,such an inspiration

I almost felt let down when he walked away from fishing, I have waited all these years for him to come back. You have saved the best one till last. Ritchie welcome back, don’t go away again, I’m loving listening to all your stories.
Really going to miss Simon, despite the lads having a bit of banter about his fishing. I was hoping we would see him on the other side of the table at some point Best of luck in whatever you're moving on to, I'm sure you will have success! Great to see Ritchie Mcdonald looking well and enthusiastic about his Carp Fishing again!
Two absolute legends these are carp anglers in a time where rigs baits and everything was a challenge even having someone to take pics not like nowa days where you have everything and more at your disposal even huge carp !!! I prefer the old days there was a buzz about everything then not like now

Is this the last Korda podcast or will there be others in the future?
Why was it his last?
