@Warren Ricardo thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks so much for this video! Great video! ADDITIONAL SUGGESTION FOR THOSE WATCHING THIS VIDEO - don't forget to plug in the wireless adaptor when you remove (and reconnect) the mother board! Unless i missed it in the video, other than removing the little wire before moving the mother board, you should also make sure to watch out for the wireless card! I totally missed it and then had to trouble shoot why my network adapter is "missing" after installing the ram.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I've been scouring the internet on how to open and upgrade this laptop! Darn it it's so difficult though! But thank you so much this video helped!
This video is immensely helpful if you REALLY want to upgrade this laptop, but after watching this video, I became fully convinced that I would not want to try it because it would be too tedious for a non-tech typical home user like me to upgrade the RAM on this laptop even if it is doable. It seems HP went out of its way to design this laptop to make it very hard to upgrade so that the buyer would be forced to buy a higher priced up model.
Take your time. Pace yourself. Take pictures. I wasn't any sort of computer maintenance either. Just spend time doing research instead of saying you can't.
I have had the same reaction. I planned to upgrade it but when I watched the video I gave up and put the ram into another HP laptop. It's doable but omg, ram is supposed to be the easiest thing to change in a laptop and they did total shit there. I think I'll try later, anyway ram price in 2023 is super low
This was so helpful! Hp.com didn't even have this information. I probably would've ended up buying the wrong type of RAM or screwing something up on the install if I hadn't found this video. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video! Although I've been building computers on/off for many years now, this one was the most challenging. If you have large hands, this upgrade may be a bit tricky especially if the wireless module becomes disconnected. I did find it helpful during reassembly to attach the touchpad cable first and then tilt the keyboard so I could insert/connect the keyboard cable.
A massive help for a complex piece of kit - Am trying to find out why my unit keeps switching off after about 20 minutes. This helps a lot!! Battery is only 2 years old, fan is clean and working, so can only assume lack of RAM (4Gb) is not enough to run Win10/64.. so will follow your excellent guide to get in and upgrade.
Great vid, you saved my old garage laptop, love this thing. Works perfect for diagnose-tools and stuff. Needed more ram and didnt see it when opened it up until i found this video - with a ssd its now running great again 😁👍
Fantastic video ... good speed, and great explanation. I appreciate the help, thanks! p.s. -- HP Engineers should be fired for a design that requires that the motherboard be removed to simply replace the RAM (very sad).
So in the new versions, thankfully you take the back off instead, disconnect the battery and the memory is right there under a small cover. They must have gotten a lot of complaints and I was afraid to upgrade the RAM in my daughter's new laptop until I found out how much better and simpler it had gotten. It is such a big improvement! Thank you for this video though!
I tried to do this for one of my clients , just be careful with the wireless adapter card when you take off the motherboard , I forgot to put it back then the antennas came off it then I had so much trouble fixing it after
That was just great. It looks horrifying but, yeah, thanks for explaining so then I actually know what's happening (actually I am not experienced enough to do all this, but this might help when I will get one and upgrade it) HUGE thanks anyway. Imma save this video for later. You, sir, just earned a Sub and like :):)
Hello Víctor. My hp 360 worked fine, but one morning it do not power up. The AC charger is ok, I tested on other laptop. When connect the power, the small yellow led do not light on. The laptop is not responding at all. Please advise... Saludos from México!
On the ribbon cable connectors on the MB, you refer to the connectors as "pins". Universally they're referred to "clamps." I wasn't sure if you knew this or even cared to know.
I did exactly what you instructed but I lost internet connection. Computer says lost network adapter and there is nothing in the network file. I also downloaded the files from HP and still nothing.
Duane Bennett you may have not reconnected the Internet pin. it's connected to the motherboard on the left hand side of the laptop. it's super small and easy to miss.
Thanks Victor, dismantled for 2nd time and tried inserting it back again - no luck - no network adapter detected. Using a USB D-Link wireless adapter for now. Thanks for the great video, upgraded to 16 GB ram though..
Hi, dismantled for 3rd time. The connector Victor mentioned is probably for the left audio, the wifi is actually a separate addon card that you push into a slot on the m/b on the same side as the RAM. I reinserted same properly this time and wifi works now. Hope this helps someone.
Great video Victor, Glad I found it before I opened mine up!! Just come home with the wrong ram however :) But that's my fault not yours so thanks again for this vid :)
Does the ram upgrade speed up the machine.. since i have the same machine with just 4 gigs, i am finding it difficult even to load g chrome with so many extensions and add-ons.
I thank you for putting this up as it helped me BUT when I rebuilt the laptop the WiFi did not work. You didn't mention or point out the WIFI card at the top left near the battery. But I saw it in the section when you had the mainboard flipped over. I this you should have added a section about the WIFI card as it really easy to put it back together without us being connected. I see TheFoureyed comment 2 years ago about the internet - didn't realise it was WiFi. Hope this helps others.

i´m gonna own a x360 i5 the current month and i wansn´t aware that it comes with the intel xd graphics 520 that it´s far from awful but i´m a casual gamer not dedicated gamer, and can you tell if there is a possiblity to upgrade to let´s say a geforce or amd card or you think that the hd520 it´s ok to take the job? i´d appreciate any information. well explained btw :).
First of all it's a media laptop not gaming second of all if you want a GeForce or a amd dedicated buy a www.amazon.com/dp/B01GWMUK7W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_TCsUzb74VGKZ7 and a newer gpu
I don´t know why I feel all this bad vibrations coming from your reply like I´m the bad guy, however thank you, now I see the difference between one and another, I´m not in college yet so I think every PC should be for gaming lol thank you have a good one.
Hhahaha not, no every pc should be for gaming, GPU is needed for that.
Does it have M.2 slot in it
I have a 4GB model. Does that mean the 2 ram slots are taken by 2 2GB rams? or is there one slot with 4GB ram and the other one free??
you have 1 by 4gb. My model is Pavilion x360 13-u001nl with i3, I've upgraded 4gb ram ddr4 Crucial (now it's 4 + 4 in dual channel), and a ssd 120 Sandisk. Now it's fast, but you probably miss the warranty, HP Italy told me this. The ram slots are placed behind the motherboard, it's a tough job.
Mine had a vacant slot and a slot taken up by a 4GB card
Sorry if this is a dumb question...but will more RAM make it operate faster? Your video is great! :)
Augustus Ceasar it will make it faster bc it will make your laptop better at multitasking
@@victorg6546 Hey thanks for your quick response. I don't think I'll do it myself, but I will get the shop to do it for me. Thanks again! :)
Recently my laptop is making alot of noise is it because its damaged?? Or it hqs something stuck on it.
