Yes Fr. Mike makes it easy! I love listening to him. I have learned so much this year! I am so happy that I have been able to keep up with this daily. I tried the Bible in a year a couple of years ago and did not complete it. I am definitely planning to start January 1 and hopefully do the whole Bible in a year in 2024.!

I have been working with the Lord to take my anger from me. I have been angry for so long about things in my family, things in my life, things I have done that cannot be undone. To finally willfully accept that I need to love myself but not in that stupid modern sense but like you said padre, to will good for myself. Mercy, love, grace and joy. To live that grace has been difficult, to accept harder at times. Even after confessions, to feel that God has put it aside but I cannot. The weightlessness I have received from God these last several weeks, is beyond measure, beyond words. These last few weeks have been hard with whats going on in Israel, I was there less than a year ago on Pilgrimage with my wife. To see whats happening to good and innocent people on either side, what terror is doing to peoples perceptions about faith. It racks my heart with sadness. Thank you Fr. Mike for praying for me and all the others doing CIY, I need it. Always praying and thinking of your words and dad jokes. To God all the Glory and Honor forever and ever.

The basic principle of keeping peace also goes hand-in-hand with this Commandment: “Blessed are the Peacemakers”. War comes from a desire for revenge, from anger and hatred that causes us to do evil to someone. Instead, the Lord also says, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”. Let us pray for all those who have died in wars. Pray for peace in the world. Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on us sinners!🙏❤️🙏❤️

I struggled with loving my enemies or those that hurt us until one day I realized that loving my enemies or those who hurt us does not mean that what they did to us was right. Once I could separate the person from the action I could the love them because they were created by God. I can also only do this with God’s Divine Mercy and Graces. When I struggle doing this I ask Jesus to help me love them. I also find praying for your enemies or those who hurt us helps me to start to love them. Hope that makes sense. Praying for all of you (no you are not my enemies I pray for my friends also lol)

    Day 292
The part about where Fr. mentioned about CS Lewis book Mere Christianity was shocking...
Loving your enemy does not mean feeling fond of him or telling him he is nice when he is not. But it is to wish that he were not bad and to be cured either in this world or next.
*In fact, to wish for his good*
CS Lewis had said this asking the question what if the Nazis had tortured my family , how would I look at them.......

The dignity of the human person comes directly from God. All human life is sacred always, everywhere extending to all time for all people.
Jesus tells us to love our enemies, which is the most challenging command given to us. Apart from avoiding murder, we must avoid anger (dont feed it), hatred and vengence. We have to love our enemies as we love ourselves. Always wish good for them and love them even if there is nothing lovable about them. This is how God ❤️ loves us still. ❤️ 🙏

Actually, I don’t find it so hard to forgive someone who seemingly sincerely asks for forgiveness. I can even find it in my heart not to question that person’s sincerity. The hardest cases are those who don’t show even the slightest remorse for what they’ve done nor hint at any intention of not repeating their transgressions. For this, God’s grace is truly most essential.

Yes! The comments weren't working on TH-cam today, at least for me, and only showed up if I sorted by "newest first", and I asked for the intercession of Blessed Carlo Actuis (saintly gamer and website designer) to our Lord Jesus Christ for help!
Being that Blessed Carlo Acutis was a gamer and website designer (known for documenting Eucharistic miracles and approved Marian apparitions cataloguing them onto a website which he created before passing from leukemia at age 15), I asked for his intercession to our Lord Jesus for help and comments are working again!
God bless you all and hope you have a light-filled day! I love you Fr. Mike! And I love you all! Praying for you. Please pray for me! =)

Human life must be respected because it is sacred. From it's beginning human life involves the creative action of God, and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. It is not lawful for anyone directly to destroy an innocent human being. This is gravely contrary to the dignity of the person and the holiness of the Creator. Jesus expands the commandment to include anger, hatred, and vengeance

I like how loving our enemies becomes easier when we connect it with the commandment of "Thou shall not kill." It also becomes easier to consider when we remember how Jesus died for the entire world and also forgave his enemies and prayed for their enlightenment. Jesus and God are about love and not hate. Fr. Mike said that being angry doesn't make us bad, but feeding that anger or doing something because of our anger makes us bad, and even sinners because anything done while being angry can become our biggest regrets later on. A great reminder about the danger of anger! C.S. Lewis is right about the example of how he would think about those (N##is) who committed the sin of the Holocaust. He relates it to loving himself and also agrees that it is difficult, but he has to somehow love them as humans. This can be translated loosely as many nations adopting lifetime imprisonment for even murderers instead of a death sentence. That's how it must be. We don't accept that the bad people are good, but we don't act like bad people ourselves by committing a sin of killing even if it seems like justice. God is the creator, and He alone has the right to take a life. Even the lives of those who are criminals. Thank you for this analysis and for making things easier for us, Fr. Mike! I'm praying for you, for the Team Ascension, and for the fellow listeners. God bless

We need to be wise as the the people of old. My father said he did not carry a gun or a knife because he knew if he was angered enough he would use it. Back in his day most people defended themselves with their fists. We need to know our own temperament in order to be able to defend ourselves. If we have a hair-trigger temper caution is advised on the use of weapons. My Dad was a hunter and only killed what he was going to eat. He did not kill for sport. Yet he was a big believer in the right to bear arms. All of us kids had to take a gun safety coarse before we were even allowed to hunt with a shot gun. Restrained is needed before one acts hastily in anger, so that reason can enter and cause one to contemplate all the things that will result from our actions - Good & Bad.❤🙏

This is what really gets me in the political separation from our time.
I am repelled by anger against politicians, even my own anger. Even anger against Trump. Even anger against Biden. Rationally, this political anger has its causes. But the sheer irrational hate shown is not justified by those causes.

The Lord wants us to become Holy, all that is needed is a bit of Good Will.If Jesus sees this little bit of Good Will in the soul He hurries to give Himself to the soul. Nothing can stop Him neither shortcomings nor falls nothing. Jesus is anxious to help that soul, and if it is faithful to this grace from God, it can very soon attain the highest holiness possible for a creature here on earth. God is very generous and does not deny His grace to anyone. Indeed He gives more than what we ask of Him. Faithfulness to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit - that is the shortest route.

Will you please take a moment and pray with me?
According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory:
    Eternal Father,
I offer You the most precious blood
    of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
    throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
    for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
    and in my family. Amen.
In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

This is truly very hard to understand and accept, especially at this time when we are trying to understand hate in this world. Innocent people including, infants, children, women and elderly were killed, maimed, raped, etc.recently. Aren't we suppose to protect the innocent? Are we suppose to just allow others do what they wish to our family, friends, loved ones, etc? This is a very hard thing for me to understand. It looks like the key word is innocent.

Capital punishment for murderers is the only commandment that God gives in every book of the Torah, starting with Genesis 9:6:
"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by MAN shall his blood be shed." Numbers 35:33 tells us that blowing off this commandment (from misdirected compassion, for example) actually pollutes the land: "So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it."
We should not be dismissing the Old Testament

We need to pray for the end of capitol punishment, abortion, euthenaisa, and assisted suicide. It is not our job to take away life. God gives us life and he takes it away in His time not ours.

1)I just got a revelation. Able's blood fell upon the earth; and the earth was made to hear Blood pour out; and therefore, it feels it and drinks it; whether it be of Jesus Christ; or if it be of Able; by the hand of murder. Both were the first man murdered.
In the book of Rev it says: God will punish those who destroy the earth. The earth has been the graveyard for murdered people; whose blood cries out; a particular perspective; there are others.
3)In the movie: the Passion of the Christ: Mary digs her fingers into the gravel; and grabs a whole handful. She gave life in Jesus Christ; and therefore, His Life; soaked into her soul; and she had this poetic reaction; because: it was more than poetry; she was reacting because: the earth is going to be redeemed again with God's Holy Fire; when God will once again create a new heaven and a new earth.
4)It is the same way the Purgatorial souls are purified with the Fire of the Blood of Jesus; like a chemical reaction that burns; this time a bleach that burns out the marks of sin upon the souls of man. So, the earth and the Universe/heaven will also have a spirit; and be purified. Only humans have souls; we are made in the Image of God's face.
5)Angels are not made in the Image of God; only humans. That is why Lucifer was jealous; because: we are created in the Image of God; though we do not have wings to fly; and seem like lower than the angels; but we are higher; in having the HIGHER GOOD. Like the song: I believe I can fly. When we are having trials and tribulations; we are actually flying higher; SHOWING THE BLOOD OF JESUS; THE HIGHER GOOD; AND THAT IS THE FACE; THAT TAUNTS THE DEVIL; LIKE THE CLOTH: that which Saint Veronica wiped the FACE of Jesus unto; like it were her own flesh; wiping the FACE of Her Lord; who saves by Trials and Tribulations.
Trials and Tribulation is the Higher Good that brings salvation.
6)AND THAT IS WHY MARY GRABBED A HANDFUL; JUST AS SAINT VERONICA HELD ON TO THE CLOTH; REPRESENTING THE GRAVEL; IN MARY'S HANDS.
7)Therefore, when you see the Shroud of Turin; you are then seeing: YOURSELF AS THE CLOTH; OR AS THE GRAVEL: In which the VM was the FIRST to feel; as she was the first to give birth. This time she also gave birth with the earth; as it gave birth to LIFE; when the first time: it gave birth to death.
8)The Rosary: and blessed is the fruit Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God; PRAY FOR US sinners and in the hour of death; Amen.
9)She grabbed a handful of us; like an eagle holding her spawned eggs; ALL GRAVEL PIECES ARE PRECIOUS TO HER HOLDING POWER. We can fly with Mary; - as depicted in the Book of Rev chapter 12. Amen.

Before CS Lewis was GK Chesterton but GK didn't have the atrocities of WWII in his day to give example. Not that is was any good, the war, it did give example of how we should live in all cultures avoiding the innocent killing and genocide. It is a good question could one forgive the Nazi's if the had killed a member of your family or a good friend; could one forgive such? I give you what GK and CS both had knowledge of and that's the forgiveness Jesus offered on the Cross, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." He did not say, "Father forgive them for I cannot." But what if He did mean that? Then we'd have every aspect to resent the Jew but we don't. It shouldn't be can we forgive Nazis for killing our loved one but can we forgive those who killed our Lord? Certainly His Resurrection gives us a chance to forgive them but I give you something greater than the Resurrection the knowledge that it was our own sins that nailed Christ to the Tree. It's as if we held the hammer that struck the nails. So all of us are guilty of crucifying Jesus. If we are all guilty how can we hold accountable one group of people? Did He not died and rise for their sins as well? Furthermore, the Jews are the field of evangelism and evangelism is better by action but greater by words of action. If you do a good deed for a Jew they will believe they are entitled but if you serve the deed with the Gospel they will have to maul it over in their mind. Medication without water causes one to choke but together they bring aid to the ailment; betterment to the sick and dying. Sometimes interveinous is the better but water is still involved. Now at this time of Israel's distress and interveinous approach is applicable not only to the Jew but the Palestinian. Now is the time to bring about conversion. There is a gap between these peoples: Let us fill that Gap with an olive branch in our beak.

    Flee this Anti-Church.
Have you ever read the next 5 verses?
    John 3:16
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

Moving on to the Gospel of Jesus Christ:
How many lies have you told in your life?
Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you?
Have you ever used God's holy name to curse, would you do that with your mother's name?
      Jusus said:
      Matthew 5:28
*_"but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."_*
      Have you ever done that?
Only Jesus Christ lived a life worthy of Heaven. Substituting our sinful life for his is the only way to enter Heaven.
      1.
We attempt to present our own righteousness to God the father on Judgment Day?
*(We don't have any righteousness. Answer the questions in the above, how many lies have you told in your life?)*
      2.
Jesus has kindly offered to give us his righteousness as a free gift making us perfect and impeccable in the sight of his father. Ensuring a smooth transition on Judgement Day.
      (Choose this option.)
      Romans 1:18-21 LSB -
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, both His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened.

      A sola scriptura question......
If the early church believed in sola scriptura, why do the creeds of the early church always say " we believe in the holy catholic church" and not " we believe in Holy Scripture"?
Use apologetics skills in your answer, not polemics.

If Jesus intended for Christianity to be exclusively a "religion of the book", why did he wait 1400 years before showing someone how to build a printing press ?
