I'm a physical therapist (PT) po, also a partner in the healthcare team with the doctors, OTs and, speech therapists and I understand po kung gano kagastos din po talaga ang home therapy. Samin po starting rate na po namin is 1000 per session. Pero seeing our patients improve over time make it all worth it. Even the slightest second na mamaintain lang po ng kids with cerebral palsy yung head nila, sobrang fulfilling na po sa part namin. Sa stroke patients naman po, kahit isang hakbang lang magawa nila or makapagclose open ng hand, (which for most people is a very basic task pero for them, who had a stroke, very complicated na nun taking a lot of effort from them) iba po talaga yung feeling, there is joy in the little things. I always say to myself and to my patients, SMALL PROGRESS IS STILL PROGRESS. And I have seen Joo improve po since day 1. He's come so far na Mama Anne. These little wins make me appreciate my profession even more.💛💛💛

My goal lang po on this comment is mashare ko po yung POV naming mga therapists. How it is equally fulfilling for both the parents/relatives and the therapists yung little wins and milestones na naachieve ng patients namin. I feel grateful for how Mama Anne appreciates not only yung improvements ni Joo but also the efforts of the therapists behind it. It's always a collaborative effort. I really hope din po in the near future na magkaron ng centers who will offer these services for free for those who cannot afford or who doesn't have the budget but is definitely in need of the therapy, may it be physical therapy, speech therapy, or occupational therapy. Kasi ang dami ko na rin po naencounter na stories na "maganda sana magpatherapy para maturuan maglakad ulit or para makaupo man lang, kaso hindi kaya ng budget". Sad, but these are real stories po. Let's all pray for a better future for this field of profession.💛🙏🏻
Meron po mga centers na nago-offer kahit maliit na donation lang ang kailangan as low as P20 pwede na. You may check po sa local centers or hospitals sa lugar ninyo minsan may nag-offer po ng community-based rehab. Madalas po mga interns ang hahawak ng cases pero guided po sila ng mga licensed therapists. Ang Philippine Cerebral Palsy Institute sa Makati ganito po ang operation nila and open for PT, OT and speech. 😊
@@redblackshirt hello maam! Yes po. But what I meant pala is MORE centers po who could offer these services for free or by donation. Hehe kasi not all cities po or provinces have access to these centers due to proximity. I was once an intern po sa PCPI way back 2016. I also volunteered in one facility in Marilao, Bulacan po, ganun din po donation lang. Dun ko po nakuha yung hope na kung kaya nila, dapat kaya din ng ibang cities or municipalities. But alam ko po na di rin biro, pero let's hope for the best. We'll never know. 😊 thank you maam for sharing!
Speech therapist here. Hoping for better healthcare system. Of course private centers and professionals have to earn for a living. So we cant really rely on them to shoulder yung cost- baka lalo po mawalan ng professionals who’ll prefer to work here.hehe I’ve worked in singapore and the cost of the intervention is partially or fully shouldered by govt agencies depending on yung socio-economic factors. On another end, there are budgets in local govt units for therapy services (check nyo po sa city govt nyo if meron), govt agencies such as PCSO before also give, some HMOs cover na rin, and the new z package of philhealth offers aid na rin po for intervention.

For those na hindi afford ang therapy, specifically physical therapy there are some schools that offer free online sessions. This will be facilitated by interns pero siyempre with guidance from their clinical instructors. Bale through online video calls lng po ito but the good thing is hindi mahalt yung therapies and mas matututunan ng parents/relatives ma-manage yung cases ng loved ones nila. So far i know De la salle health sciences offers this and its applicable for children, elderly and even those who just want to be fit kahit wala naman sakit. Last year may speech din po, sila na offer. Hope this helps!
S America pg my Medicaid health plan kayo free po yung OT ,speech and ABA theraphy ng bata 5 days in a week yung ABA, OT an hour a week, speech 30 minutes a week. Sna meron din s Pinas ng ganitong system ng healthcare plan para s mga bata n my special needs .
Im very proud of JOO sa improvement.Anak ko din po may mild autism yes magastos pero pag nakita mo ung improvements sobrang worth it po talaga and super thankful din sa mga therapist and teachers na sobrang haba ng patience .
nung nag grade one ang anak ko, nilipat ko na sya sa public school na may sped learning, bali everyday sya nasa sped class at nag thetherapy 1hour, tapos regular school din sya, sa public school sya natuto ng socialization, dun sya naging mas madaldal, pinagpapasalamat ko lang, accepted ng mga bata sa public school ang mga bata na may special needs, sila pa mismo ang nag aassist sa mga sped students,
grumaduate sa sped ang anak ko grade 2 sya, grade 3 regular school na sya, modular distance learning, ako na ang nag tuturo sknya, ngayon grade 4 na sya, regular school pa din, thankful ako at nag okey na ang anak ko,
libre ang sped theraphy sa public school, ung naitipid ko na pera sa pag thetheraphy dati ng anak ko sa private theraphy, idinonate ko na sa sped ng public school, mga gamit na need para sa development ng mga batang may special needs,

my son also has autism and I feel you mama anne sa sobrang mahal ng therapy pero kinakaya pra sa anak.
And, same din sila mannerism ng anak ko, pinapasok lge ang fingers sa bibig. Gusto kasi nila lageng basa ang kamay/fingers nila, sensory problem po nla yan.

Truth po! Mama anne wouldnt be this successful kung wala ang support ni papa kitz nung nagsisimula pa sila. Plus he handles all the finances etc.. Hands on kay joo so on and so forth.. No doubts no questions. Even mama is very much vocal about it.

dati 2015 nagstart mag therapy ang anak ko 4years old sya noon, occupational therapy, speech therapy and behavioral therapy, 1,500 each per 1hour session, 3x a week ang therapy tas separate pa ung regular school nya sa private school

Hi Mama Anne, my baby is also starting a occupational therapy for almost a month na po because of his speech delay and motor skills delay din.mejo mabagal yung process at pgadopt nya sa mga tinuturo sa knya pero as long as kaya pa nmin suportahan ung pgthetherapy nya Di namin titigilan. I know in God's perfect time magiging okay din sya. Nasubaybayan ko mga vlogs mo Lalo na about Joo's journey. He improve so much po talaga Ang galing. ✨☺️

Yes Mama Anne napaka mahal tlaga ng mga therapy for Autism. Pero suggestion po teach nyo ng consistent routine everyday plus more therapy since kaya naman mas improve sya. Then after pandemic ipasok nyo sa school or kahit online ngayon aside from therapy. Tuloy tuloy lang po makikita nyo din improvement nya, mabagal pero sigurado. May libre na therapy sa ibang public hospital pero hindi sapat at napaka haba ng pila. Kaya napakaswerte ni Joo kasi kaya nyo syang gastusan. Tuloy lang po wag susuko! Yan ang kailangan nila UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

I feel you Mama Anne. Yung anak ko nga po nung bago mag pandemic twice lng OT nya per week once lng yung speech nasa 8k+ a month kami asawa ko lang nag wowork. 🙁 Pero nung nagkapandemic natigil anak ko sa therapies nya mag 2 years na wla na kami work. Online selling lng kmi mag partner sana soon may mga libre na centers for our kids. 💛

Ang anak ko po na may down syndrome po is having speech therapy. Since andito kmi sa dubai, dirhams din ang bayad. Ang speech nya palang is 3k dirhams a month or almost 40K pesos. 3X a week lang one hour per session. Wla pa po doon ang OT and aba. So now, focus nlng kami sa speech kasi d po namin kaya kung lahat ipagsasabay. D po kya ng budget. But syempre lahat ng magulang gagawin ang lahat para sa mga anak nila kaya konting tiis at tyaga ma push lang ang nararapat sa kanila. God gave these little angels to us so for sure d sila pababayaan ni God.

I am a resigned public school Special Education teacher. And really yan ang biggest problem dito sa philippines. Mahal ang therapy and sobrang onti ng mga therapy centers dito sa Pinas. Sa 12 na students ko before 1 lang ang nag thetherapy talaga kase sila lang may afford. Pero dapat lahat sila especially ung mga students kong autistic. I feel sad pero sabi nga ng mga parents happy na daw sila kase atleast ngayon meron ng special education sa public schools. And hopefully mas maging priority pa ng government ang mga kids with special needs.
