  • Come along with us as we camp at Hunting Island State Park and get attacked by the annoying mosquitos/gnats. We visited the Hunting Island Light House and got educated at Penn Center which is the first school for the Gullah People and for African Americans.

    Beautiful park, hopefully you can find a better spray that is safe for you and bad news for the bugs. The history was interesting. There's always some hidden history that we've never heard of. Thanks for sharing.
    Be Blessed

      We survived the bugs. It wasn’t bad the next day. We definitely learned a lot about the Penn Center. It’s too bad they wouldn’t let us video inside. Thanks for checking us out!

    We may have to pass with all of those mosquitoes or just bring Katina with us so we can have her spray us as soon as they land on us 😆 The campground looks beautiful! Dang no lock!!! 🤣 Thanks for the shoutout!! Oooh we can picture our lil camper in that site. So pretty! Mini zombies 😂 Enjoyed the history of the Penn Center. We enjoyed the video and hope you aren’t still itching from all of your bites😬 🦟

    Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar keeps you from itching. Spray it or wipe it on.
    Spraying on green rubbing alcohol use to help me also.
    I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m told that keeping a dryer sheet in your pocket works fantastically.
    Besides being a snack for the bugs, I enjoyed the rest of your video.

      We will have to try those tips should be ever find ourselves being a snack for the gnats again. Thanks for the tips and for watching our video. We actually had a great time in St. Helena.

    My wife and I camped there in late August and were eaten alive by the mosquitoes! We laughed so hard at your description of the bugs as zombies! It is however a beautiful place, and on the beach, with a normal breeze, it was mosquito free.

      @lovebycamping  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes those mosquitos were something else!!! But you are right…the beach is beautiful!!!!! Happy New Year fam!

    Wow! This is amazing! I traced my heritage (as best as I could) and found that my people were formerly enslaved then freed in this region. Many of them disbanded after emancipation and moved to Orangeburg, SC and several other regions throughout the south. There are still several descendants in that area. Most of my modern day (after 1900) people moved to TX and the spelling of our last name changed from Baltzegar to Baltzgar. I absolutely love history! Also, as a retired Coast Guardsman, I love lighthouses and their history. They still serve as useful aids to navigation to vessels transiting the waterways! Good Stuff!

      Oh wow!!! My family (Katina) has origin in this area as well! We sooooo enjoyed the history lesson we received! The heritage day celebration sounds really cool! Thanks for always stopping by and showing love!

      We are 43.6 ft long and some of the other sights we really right to get into. We will keep that in mind though.

    Very nice footage, its a shame the Mosquitoes were so bad ! The campground with the beach looked great , was there any full hook ups ?

    • @lovebycamping
      @lovebycamping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some of the sites were beautiful tucked away with the trees. There are lots of sites with full hookups. Most of all the sites we saw were full hookups.
