Hope you all enjoy the video! Please consider Liking & Subscribing if you like this type of content! (also, apologies to Timothy if I got the order of your series out-of-order! Blame Rick)
Thank you once again for your hard work for SPFBOX, Brian. It was a joy to read Tanna! You cannot imagine my relief when Rick Thunder discovered that Rick didn’t done it. Thank you for introducing me to some of the newer members of our community, and I’m looking forward to celebrating one year of BellTube!
Witness!!! So happy you loved House of Chains! Congratulations on one year, my friend! I love your fun, bombastic energy along with your mindful, compassionate, philosophical side. It’s wonderful how you present both qualities. Looking forward to all that’s in store in Season 2 (or extended Season 1) of BellTube!
Tanna the Tendersword is official on my TBR before the Holidays! I have a feeling my niece would love it, and it’s been so long since read a Middle Grade too!
Dude! Thank you so much for the shout out! I am so honored and floored that you have watched any of my videos and even more so by all your kind words! Thank you, truly. I love your channel and energy and this means the world to me, my friend!
@@TheBeardedBookBeast I've already read it! On audio. Was fantastic! If you show the book in a video, send me the link again and I'll send it to the authors.
Can’t believe I’ve been watching your channel for almost a year. You’ve been such a bright light on Booktube for myself and others. Keep going from season 1 - 100.
Awesome haul, Brian!!! So thankful you put us through for Philip, and holy sickleficks, we can't believe he chose us as well! Making the finals of SPFBOX as the first ever middle grade book is just an amazing feeling and we couldn't have gotten there without you championing us! Tanna the would-be-Champion would be proud to have you stand with her!
Big congrats on the one year! Have watched all your videos for the last 5-6 months and really enjoy what you do on the channel. Looking forward to season 2 or 1 continued! Also, giving a shoutout to some of the smaller channels is a really awesome thing to do!
A year?! Time does fly by when you are having fun (or when you go to work 9-6 cough cough...). Thanks for sharing your energy and positivity in this tiny space of YT.
So cool to see an MG in the finals! Definitely grabbing it for my son. Rick Thunder wasn't even on the train? Well, now I have to re-do my ENTIRE murder board! See you in December, I guess. The Bearded Book Beast is doing a great job, definitely having a fun time over there. I'll have to add Maeve to the list! Congrats on 1 year! Can't wait to see the celebration episode. I like the idea of seasons going by the anniversary dates.
Brian, I LOVED your opening monologue 🤩😂 So good! Congrats on one year, friend. You’re on of my favorite Tubers. Also, just subscribed to Maeve, and I’m already subscribed to Chris. He’s pretty amazing. In October I read 8 books, but my favorites were Project Hail Mary and Boy’s Life. Keep up the great work!
I really did like it. One thing I've learned from the experience though is to not read epic fantasy immediately after a Malazan book. They all seem a bit smaller and lower stakes because the enormity of Malazan. I'm reading Dune Messiah now to get a fresh brain when I hit Hunger of the Gods right after :)
Thank you for the video Brian, love seeing how infections your enthusiasm is for books! I also Read House of chains for the first time this month and loved it! I'm exited to hear what you think when you pick it back up next year! Cant wait to see more of what you do on the Channel and on Instagram. Happy Reading! 🙂
Glad Shadow of the Gods landed well with you. I got to get back to Malazan soon, I'm on Memories of Ice, and may start in November depending on my other reads. The buddy read of WoLaS in January is going to be a blast! -Cheers
I am glad you like Shadow of the Gods! Varg is my favorite character. I sent Maeve your Night Club Booktube tag & I just love Chris Booktube Beast! He is the opposite of his name and a breath of fresh air!
Great video! Your positive energy is also so appreciated, and I'm glad you are enjoying this so I can look forward to season 2! As for what I've been reading, it's been a slow reading month. I'm still on Sword of Kaigen and continuing to make my way through What to Expect the First Year
I had a thought that I just need to float out there. Just imagine the amount of clicks the title “An English Professor and a Former Nightclub Owner Read Berserk” would generate. 😂 Also, love the new segment. Triple B is awesome and I’ll have to go check out Maeve now! Great video, Brian!
So much to comment on. I didn’t know October was named after Doctor Octopus. Happy to see some smaller channels get boosted, though I’m already subbed cause that’s how I roll. Congrats for one year, bro. Stream outta be LIT!
Quality over quantity friend, I think it's really healthy to normalise the smaller wrap-ups and slower months ;) Congrats on Tanna becoming the finalist, I was already eager to read it after your glowing review, but now I will have to read it even sooner than expected for judging duties. Can't wait! 😍 Also, I am already so excited for the Disco special this year. That video is how I discovered your channel last year and I haven't missed a video since, HOW has it been a year already?! Just keep it a perpetual S1 btw, that kind of silliness absolutely fits the channel here hahaha. Anyway, my standouts of October were Sleepwalking by Daniel Barnett (I am obsessed with this horror series!!!), The Lost Metal by Brando Sando, 11/22/63 by King and my re-read of The Way of Kings. Cheers 🥰
My favorite book of October was a complete surprise for me: Player Manager, by Ted Steele. It's a soccer-themed LitRPG (I really don't care much about soccer, but there you go), with excellent characters, a solid plot, and several periods of strong emotion. I had never heard about this series previously and bought the book on a whim. Good whim. 8-) The other really strong books were books 2 and 3 from David Weber's Manticore Ascendant series, and book 4 from both All the Skills and The Hedge Wizard. 26 books with an average Goodreads rating of 3.46.
Your reading is beyond next-level, Doug. I swear, if anyone was going to find a soccer-themed LitRPG, it'd be Doug. I'll add all of those to TBR Mountain :)
I think keeping it season 1 would be fun. Beginner's mind and all that. Congratulations on having a year, and here's to many more! Love to see Rick Thunder's reading journey as well, though it is such a shame about Hyperion's false advertising. Does Rick invite legal professionals to the hot tub often? My October reading was pretty light; I read some novellas by Mieko Kawakami and Yoko Ogawa, read Frankenstein for the first time and Our Wives Under the Sea for the second. Unquestionably the read of the month was The Other Valley by Scott Alexander Howard. I'm still reading The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet; I love it but for some reason it's taking me forever to get through. So it goes.
@@BrianBell7 I liked Frankenstein a lot! The framing structure was interesting, and some of the deviations I knew from the adaptations made took me by surprise.
Thank you for a year of humorous and inspiring videos. The imbalance between quality of content and number of subscribers makes me want to go on a table-flipping spree!
Thanks, Thatcher. I'd rather have the solid foundation of people who are here right now than the masses who aren't really sold on the channel. We'll get there!
i am thinking about reading Hyper Ion also, and i have to take my hat off in front of you sir, you know things that few people do... october is indeed named after doctor otto octavius, known also as the superior spider-man
First off, I'm revising a short story where it's mentioned that the Minnesota Vikings not winning the Superbowl is a lynchpin preventing the apocalypse. A literal goddess is bummed because she can't arrange it. Read the Wickeire Watch and two of its, sequels, short stories by Lois Macmaster Bujold, and Autumn Apprentice, another SPFBO semi finalist. Like what you are doing.
Hey, «Malazan» deserves some time to digest, so no need to hit yourself Brian, quality always comes over quantity!
