Joe you forgot to mention that the 40k episode is a direct sequel to Space Marine 2, which ended with Titus being sent to a mission hand-picked by Leandros. And as we learn at the start of the episode, the mission was determined as a suicide mission. So yeah, easily the best episode in the bunch.

As a fan of the Animatrix and Halo Legends the short story format of Secret Level has been a great look into the various worlds of their respective properties. F IGN.
I really really really hope Halo gets featured in this eventually. When the series was announced, I honestly couldn’t believe it wasn’t a part of the anthology considering Blur made the incredible cutscenes of Halo 2 anniversary. Also, I just wanna see heavy pools of blood back into Halo. It’s gotten too Teen rated with 343 unfortunately and Secret Level would be the best way to bring it back to the Halo Landfall days.
They totally were not paying attention to the end of Pac-Man spoilers ahead The humanoid didn't die because he turned into the creature. He kill himself to keep Pac from escaping after Pac used him.
Seeing the battle axe in Secret Level has me absolutely dying to see one in Space Marine 2. I’m honestly surprised there weren’t more chain/power weapons.
Warhammer was insane! My shorty was like, ‘What is this sorcery?’ I was like, ‘If they send four of them Oh boy, things are about to get wild! I’m not a big fan of the Warhammer series, but I have to admit, the lore is pretty interesting. That was definitely one crazy episode! is it just me who enjoys the Pac-Man twist? Rating is 8 for me.
@42:30 PACMan was my second favorite episode. The take on how the human checks into the game. How they show us how fights are usually justified in some way. Not being able to eat the eyes is like fighting an enemy and then seeing that in your next opponents (fighting never really ends). The player PULLING himself out of the game, showing that they were just addicted and that's how they got so good. It's so much deeper im just rushing to write this but it was GREAT
Unreal Tournament, Warhammer, and Dungeons and Dragons episodes were the standouts to me. If only 3d animation with these types of stories were made all the time.
Unit Image, the studio that did the New World episode, they are a French Studio, like Fortiche, who make League of legends’ most recent cinematics, like ‘The Call’ and ‘Still Here’.
I don't know much about Warhammer lore, other than the look of it, but if Amazon's show is like this, its going to be the best thing they're every created. That was insanely cool, stylish, and ominous. I legit have no idea the significance of that character was, but it had me thinking of the Doom Slayer guy.
Amazon's OTHER live action videogame power armour - Fallout - proves to me, beyond any shadow of a doubt that not only CAN 40k spacemarine armor be depicted live action..... it ALREADY HAS ! ☝️😄🤘
Side note: Primarchs(which are even bigger than Spacemarines) have also been proven doable by way of the Giants fighting beyond the wall with humans acted as an accidental proof of concept for a future 40k/Horus Heresy live action show.
I expected greatness from D&D and Warhammer and they were both, indeed, great. New World I had no expectations and by the end, had won me over. Really well done! The Pac-Man episode was weird, Sifu was fine, Armored Core was cool but honestly didn't do much for me. The Unreal Tournament episode was dope. Crossfire was meh because it needed more of a story to it.
I knew Warhammer and AC episodes were going to be good but GODDAMN the others were done so well. The New World, Unreal Tournament, and Sifu ones were VERY good! I watched everything other than Pac-Man and Crossfire ones.
Honestly some episodes could have benefitted from a couple more minutes to flesh things out a little more. The Armored Core episode I absolutely loved but I felt like it either should have been more fleshed out or be something simpler. The story trailer was way shorter but I honestly felt like it at least told a more complete story while leaving a lot of things open for questioning. Some episodes like Sifu, Pacman, and Warhammer I thought worked with their runtimes.
It was a top 3 for me. While the 40K and Armored Core ones were amazing, the Pac-Man one stuck with me the most. It was the only short I watched where I felt I needed to see more. What happened to that world? Who is the ball? Why is she trapped? Who put her there? WHAT is she? That ending too... "There is strength in repetition. _There is strength in repetition._ *_There is strength in repetition."_* Hooked me.
The Unreal Tournament episode got me feeling nostalgic because it was one of the first FPS game that I played back in the day. I'm not talking about the Xbox 360 one but the one before that. They really nailed the guns and the arenas you'd be fighting in. For me, 6 out of the 8 episodes were basically 10/10.
Everyone notice that, out of all the Space Marines, Titus was the only one without an Iron Halo. Having NO FEAR of anything would certainly explain how Titus is an anomaly. He acts more like a machine that feels nothing, and if nothing can sway your emotions, then it's like he's one of the Sisters of Silence or the Tau - no presence in the warp; but with Titus its no emotion of fear. Is he a saint of some kind? His father-figure in the story, who survived at the end, certainly had a fear of Titus turning to Chaos - something Leandros fears - because he is so devastating?
The DND episode I loved when the undead mage guy snapped his fingers and canceled the spells, snap, snap, chuckle. Warhammer was such a great episode. 10/10. Armored core was cool. Excited to see the rest
My biggest issue is that the Act 3 maps are too large for the gameflow. It's not fun to have to keep returning to town to sell and transmute gear forty times on the same map. They can still keep the map size... the inventory needs to expand to reduce the amount of time you have to spend town portaling. I think act 3 is the ONLY act this is true for... so my personal solution would be to just reduce the map sizes instead of trying to work out the balance flow retroactively... though perhaps they could do something to allow you to increase your inventory size idk. As for difficulty... it's really NOT that hard. Yeah some bosses CAN 1-shot you....... but the game is so good generally at readability that often times you just don't get hit... you might reach a boss whose attacks are uniquely strong against your build and playstyle... but I've never had to fight a boss more than maybe three times to date and I'm pushing 40 with my twitch reflexes far behind me. Vendors are a unique problem I think... basically all our ARPG experience is that shops are worthless... so I agree maybe something to entice the player to go check the vendors more often would be valuable. I expect this is less a design flaw... than it has to do with gamer 'training' over years. The first time we played diablo we were in the shops all the time... we've just grown up 'understanding' checking the shop is a waste of time. PoE2 just needs to 'retrain' us on this for their game somehow. I AM playing ranger.
1. Armored Core 2. Warhammer 3. Pac Man Those were my favorites. People are gonna sleep on the Pac Man episode but THAT interpretation of the lore in game form, like a survival horror meets DarkSouls, would sell
I actually loved the unreal tournament episode and pacman. And I'm with Joe Armored core was fantastic and Warhammer is beyond all the others. Sifu as a extra history of the game was fun, new world was funny and wholesome, D&D was really well made and yes Crossfire was meh at most. But the IGN 5 does not even make sense with this level of quality for the first 8 episodes.
Pac Man was a good short, I think - but I don't know if it's a good *Pac Man* short... Like I can vaguely understand how they extrapolated the story from the game, it just didn't bring me the vibes and joy of playing Pac Man. Whereas the Armored Core and Warhammer shorts took the stuff I love about those ips and gave me more of it.
You were too harsh on pacman. It was one of better ones because they made me so much interested in that world and how they are in some kind prison and that entity try to escape but only can when that vat person is in doors as maybe it was body of creator of that prison and their living body biometrics are required. Easily 7/10 for me.
The attention to detail was amazing in the Warhammer episode. You can see that because Titus has a resistance to the warp when the Tzeentch sorceror tries to invade his mind his pupils dont expand all the way out like the other space marines. Even the leader space marine's pupils dont expand as far as the two other random marines, kind of explaining why he doesnt get instakilled like they did because he was more resistant than them.
So that *was* Arnold?! I'm blown away because when I heard him say *You get to be the one armed man! The man who eats and shits with the same hand* I freaked out (and laughed heavily). Now that I know it's him it's even better. I should've known and looked it up. I didn't wanna just count the Austrian guy automatically as Arnold Schwarzenegger, but apparently he was! A few years ago, an Austrian guy who sounded exactly like that saved my life on DayZ, driving a car into some dudes who were trying to kill me, then said, "Get in! We must have haste there are more! " So I know they're out there.
Along with Armored Core, I thought Crossfire was also one of the best. All of them were generic in their own way. I think Crossfire well highlighted the greyness of people and war - which I think people find uneasy.
Shows been mad disappointing for me at least since the episodes are too short and the stories feel repetitive and just like stretched out trailer’s especially with the games they picked like crossfire, the Amazon mmo, and probably concord too
Have you watched them? They’re the same length: Warhammer 40K: 19min Crossfire: 19min Armored Core: 14min Sifu and Pac-Man are the shortest episodes with 9min and 11min respectively.
We need a 40K Series of that exact level of Quality it will be a Money printer if it's kept True to 40K Look no further then the Success of Space Marine 2.

They totally were not paying attention to the end of Pac-Man spoilers ahead
The humanoid didn't die because he turned into the creature. He kill himself to keep Pac from escaping after Pac used him.
Crossfire was completely pointless, the rest of the shorts were fairly entertaining.
IGN gave she-hulk an 8. Lets just leave it at that.
Daredevil boosted the crap out of that show. Lol
Seeing the battle axe in Secret Level has me absolutely dying to see one in Space Marine 2. I’m honestly surprised there weren’t more chain/power weapons.
"tee-ah-mat" was also in the "Dungeons and Dragons" cartoon from the 80's. Also there was a version in "Dragonlance" book series.
Vignettes = "vin" + "yetts"
Yeah he's never going to pronounce it like that.
I don't know much about Warhammer lore, other than the look of it, but if Amazon's show is like this, its going to be the best thing they're every created. That was insanely cool, stylish, and ominous. I legit have no idea the significance of that character was, but it had me thinking of the Doom Slayer guy.
John Warhammer basically, new poster-boy for the franchise.
1:58 But 5 was average right?
In usa for some reason 7 is avg
I knew Warhammer and AC episodes were going to be good but GODDAMN the others were done so well. The New World, Unreal Tournament, and Sifu ones were VERY good!
I watched everything other than Pac-Man and Crossfire ones.
For a second I thought you meant Assassin's Creed & i almost nutted imagining Ezio getting a full episode. TELL ME that wouldnt go hard.
They will change their score . They changed their rating for Penguin. They do that shit all the time
Did they? 🤣🤣🤣 that’s so embarrassing.
No they didn’t. I still see a 5/10 for Penguin
The Unreal Tournament episode had me grinning ear to ear. Makes me wish there was a new one coming.
Appreciate you guys churning out the content!
1:36 They put the "critic" helmet on Joe. You are familiar with that 🤣
DUDE the fucking first episode and then the arnold one Oh my god that was clean id say 10-10 for those episodes
Arnie doing the "Son of a Bitch" Predator move in the end was fantastic.
nothing tops the "eAuEaAuh", tho
Honestly some episodes could have benefitted from a couple more minutes to flesh things out a little more. The Armored Core episode I absolutely loved but I felt like it either should have been more fleshed out or be something simpler.
The story trailer was way shorter but I honestly felt like it at least told a more complete story while leaving a lot of things open for questioning.
Some episodes like Sifu, Pacman, and Warhammer I thought worked with their runtimes.
" V I J I N E T S "
I honestly LOVED Pac-Man
Yeah, It was great. Felt like Black Mirror episode.
Yea me too. I thought it was great.
_There is strength in repetition._ *_There is strength in repetition."_*
Hooked me.
@ right! It also gave me a half life / portal vibe! Which made me want a half life series done like this sooooo bad
Easily the best episode for me and it wasn't even close
Seriously, how are the D&D and the 40K vids not full-fledged series? How would pay out of may nose for that. Also: We need CYBERPUNK!!!!!
the Warhammer one was the best 16:30 of my life. the only one i didn't really like was the crossfire one. just wish there was more tactical action
JFC 7 score is criminal for these master pieces
that warhammer episode was absolutely legendary.
Disappointed the Sifu one was only about ten minutes was my favourite of the lot ! Can’t wait for the rest of the series
Pac Man
Those were my favorites.
People are gonna sleep on the Pac Man episode but THAT interpretation of the lore in game form, like a survival horror meets DarkSouls, would sell
It was better than I've expected, especially Warhammer episde, but the most dark and suprising was a PacMan episode.
Hey, you know that the «Epic Win» in your thumbnail is the logo of an App?
Joe! React to the new 28 Years Later trailer. It's one of the best most intense non spoiler trailers in years!
I think we’re all waiting for it lol
It was a teaser at best - one of the more grating/annoying ones of the past 28 years...
@@Nostromo2144 Think you're in a minority on that one
They should have a ice level themed episode and it's very slippery.
Finally figured it out, samurai Jack animations and these space marines animations are similar. I was like what cartoon reminds me of the movement.
Along with Armored Core, I thought Crossfire was also one of the best. All of them were generic in their own way. I think Crossfire well highlighted the greyness of people and war - which I think people find uneasy.
Shows been mad disappointing for me at least since the episodes are too short and the stories feel repetitive and just like stretched out trailer’s especially with the games they picked like crossfire, the Amazon mmo, and probably concord too
Ofc the Crossfire episode is the longest and the W40K and Armored Core ones are the shortest 😭
Have you watched them? They’re the same length:
Warhammer 40K: 19min
Crossfire: 19min
Armored Core: 14min
Sifu and Pac-Man are the shortest episodes with 9min and 11min respectively.
@@SilverGeFer ok in that case the crossfire one felt like the longest lol
We need a 40K Series of that exact level of Quality it will be a Money printer if it's kept True to 40K Look no further then the Success of Space Marine 2.
"this is a seven" 8* shown, chefs kiss OJ this caught me off guard. Thanks u guys took ur time for this as I actually wasnt sure if I want to give Amazon another chance but would have missed out.
I'm glad they didn't exposition dump in the 40k episode, not enough time.
I guess living through Liquid Television on MTV, I have already seen what this genre has to offer and left wanting.
Episode 1: 2/10 Episode 2: 7/10 Episode 3: 5/10 Episode 4: 6/10 Episode 5: 6/10 Episode 6 5.5/10 Episode 7 1/10 Episode 8 6/10
