Some years ago RM said a doctor told them that JK was naturally able to build muscle and joked that JK would gain muscle just by lifting a spoon. He was in his teens at the time though. Our metabolism shifts in our mid to late 20s though and usually slows down making it harder to lose weight and gain muscle. But it's always different between people and especially with athletes or others that exercise a lot as it keeps the metabolism higher. But dieting can also play havoc with the metabolism. Severe dieting (which sadly all the guys have done) causes the metabolism to lower as the body seeks to conserve energy. It's a natural response to what the body defects as starvation. So people that go through repeated cycles of crash dieting often end up having a harder and harder time losing weight and building muscle. JK's body by now probably does TAKE A LOT more work to build muscle than someone else his age.

Some years ago RM said a doctor told them that JK was naturally able to build muscle and joked that JK would gain muscle just by lifting a spoon. He was in his teens at the time though. Our metabolism shifts in our mid to late 20s though and usually slows down making it harder to lose weight and gain muscle. But it's always different between people and especially with athletes or others that exercise a lot as it keeps the metabolism higher. But dieting can also play havoc with the metabolism. Severe dieting (which sadly all the guys have done) causes the metabolism to lower as the body seeks to conserve energy. It's a natural response to what the body defects as starvation. So people that go through repeated cycles of crash dieting often end up having a harder and harder time losing weight and building muscle. JK's body by now probably does TAKE A LOT more work to build muscle than someone else his age.
