I lived in Florida for awhile people had fruit trees but never got the good one untill they fell. I took a cage from a drop light like you use in a garage so you don't brake the bulb. Ok. I took their pool vacuum pole that extended put the cage from the light on the pole and they could get the nice fruit up high "without a ladder" did that while I was fixing their roof. He gave permission for life to puck his trees. Now I am aloud to have all the oranges , avacotto grapefruit and anything growing up high in a tree. He gives stuff away to neighboring folks for free now. He don't worry about climbing a ladder . I do that stuff. Fix slate roofs made my own tools to pull nails from under a slate. Gedu was an amazing carpentry maker. He made his own violins. Skripka,, booben cymbala, he was amazing...
It sounds like you have some great memories and practical skills! It's amazing how creative you were with the pool vacuum pole and the light cage to help get the fruit. It’s also inspiring to hear about your Gedu and how talented he was, making violins and other instruments. It seems like you learned a lot from him, not just in fixing things but in being resourceful and inventive.
It's great to see how those skills helped you in many areas-whether it was fixing a roof or making your own tools for the job. Do you still continue to work on projects like that today?

Are you a Ukrainian ? Slava 🇺🇦 . my dad showed me how to fix or repurposed so much stuff. We called them dodas. Because it "do da job" God bless my dad and Gedu taught me a lot while I was growing up. I'm one of the only few of my friends who knows how to fix brakes in cars all kinds of things to my motor and engines not one person I know even knows how to tune a car change brakes anything like that now now I'm so happy I paid attention
