Hate to tell you this, Chilled, but the strength of the claws in crane games is a setting that can be changed. So it’s actually the arcade you went to that ripped you off by setting the claw strength to weak. It’s not just Elot, but all arcade game manufacturers that include the settings that arcade owners can change. Mark Rober did a video on arcade scams, you ought to check it out.
Right, if you consider your time on Earth as very cheap then go stake out a claw game all day and track every win and loss throughout the day. When the next scheduled win comes up then go get your cheap crap.
Cheesy did the throw of a century there, that genuinely is the worst possible move he could have done, that was impressive and I died laughing

Funny you bring up o.j. because one of the reasons they acquitted him was that the riding gloves the killer allegedly wore didn't not fit "if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit" but two things:
1- if you go and rewatch the moment that I.j. tries to put on the glove and pay attention to his hand he is intentionally tensing it up to make it impossible to put on
And
2- there is footage of o.j. at ,I believe it was a football game championship or tournament, and lo and behold o.j. is wearing that exact same pair of black leather riding gloves

I lost my first game of this tonight. Turbo-diced right past a star. It all came down to the bonus stars, _as always_ (laudatory), and there were at least two bonus stars that would have given me the win if they'd been chosen over either of the two that were.
Mario Party is designed to help you accept the fundamentally arbitrary nature of victory and defeat; the only way to win in the big picture is to enjoy the game regardless of your personal wins or losses.
It's also designed to make you beat the odds. Even if you get unlucky and land on a bunch of coin or star draining spaces, if you win minigames you can be eligible to get a star every two turns. And if you know the board, you can make the best decisions about how to use your items or what directions to go. Of course bonus stars are chaotic, but locking down as many as you can maximizes your chances of getting one. Ultimately, Mario Party is kind of deceptive in its premise, because a lot of people assume it's all about luck when it's really about using strategy and skill to maximize your odds of winning and beat your luck. It's why you see certain people win a lot of the games, that's not because they're just lucky. But you're right too, it's also just about having a good time with friends and the luck aspects help it feel less serious and more about just spending time together. Sometimes you do just lose despite everything you do, but there's something important about being able to accept that it's someone else's moment to win. There has to be someone in 4th, 3rd, or 2nd. Learning how to lose IMO is way more important than learning how to win in games. Especially in social situations.

for each firework part you guys collect you get 5 points. The explosions looks about twice as big for the ones you get 2 of.

fucking hell, it was pretty easy to see the explosions being different at least
the reason why they were thrown off was that Chilled was adamant that he didn't get extra credit for extra fireworks the last time they played the minigame. However, as it was their first time playing, Chilled didn't realize that he completely missed a firework and was overwhelmed, hence why his score matched others despite the extra. This occured because he went to grab 2, and it changed right Infront of him, throwing him off and missing the entire round
they then went into this game with the expectation that extras did nothing. While it does seem obvious watching and seeing the values, their mindset clouded that possibility due to their perceived circumstance.
If you look at Platy and Tay's score for this round, that's basically what happened, except that Chilled had forgotten he got a 0, so his mind and bias went "why did we get the same score", it's not fair to act like it's easy to understand without the perception
@@mystio7708 yeah it truly wasn't that big of a deal, it just really frustrated me the first time so this time I had to say something about it. Thank you for helping me see their side of things!
We have that roses radio skit where I am at. Personally, I really enjoy some of them. There was one where the wife wanted to do it because her husband has been coming home late, and so she thought he was cheating on her. However, when they called the guy, he asked if he could split it and give some to his wife and to his sick sister. The wife felt super guilty when she found out that her husband had been coming home late after helping his parents with his sick sister. He was giving them a break from the 24-hour care that his sister had needed. I'm sure the skit was fake, but it was still an interesting story.
Yeah, seems quite odd for a real world scenario, I mean, she should know about the sick sister and he surely would have told her he was going there, right?
But I can imagine they can be entertaining or heartwarming if you just take them at face-value

Retrospectively, while the Cheesy throw did started everything, the bonus stars did guaranteed Chilled winning regardless even if Tay stole a star from him.

Spike's model actually appears in older Mario titles, though his name isn't Spike. I know the model best from Paper Mario, and the enemy type is called Clubba.
Doesnt he debut in Mario 3 on the NES? In that instruction book, he's listed as 'Spike'. I think clubba's are just an alternative/variant, mainly different due to the clubs they wield rather than throwing spike balls from their mouths.
So it made me chuckle when Cheesy insisted Yoshi was the original when Spike had him beat by an entire console.

The "to catch a cheater" radio show they're talking about is local to me lol. They do a lot of repeats because they don't get a lot of calls. Idk how real it is, but they do censor info, and a lot of the time the person is not actually cheating. I assume the clips where they did cheat are the ones going viral. But at least half the time they send it to their SO, or their best friend (not cheating, its just their bday or something) and it turns out they just need to communicate better because they have shit going on they're not talking about with their partner (sometimes spouse). So it seems legit enough, even if it's not.
