👍Thanks for sharing Walt. One option to map out greyline impact on propagation from your QTH on a band is to run WSPR for 24 hours. You can even leave WSPR running in RX mode to get a good picture.
I am in Scotland and what I have tended to notice using sites like RBN is that CW spots seem to increase on 15/17m along the greyline as expected. However, the propagation also seems to improve at 90 degrees from the line into the dark zone and 90 degrees from the line out into the night area. Yes, if you live in an area where at sometimes of the year you are on the shallower slopes of the greyline it makes for some pretty interesting changes in propagation day to day. This is one of the reasons I still find HF bands fascinating as the conditions continually change and you never know what might pop up.😀

Good Stuff!! And like you say....another great reason why amateur radio is such an interesting hobby. I really like to see how you handle the challenging callsign exchanges, since it would be so easy to get discouraged, for either party on each end. Gives me hope that I can be just as patient......and that hopefully others will be as well.

Interesting learning about the midsummer twilight. I live here in VA also so it's not something I've ever experienced. I got a good chuckle with them struggling with your call. When I first moved back home and still had my 8 call almost every contest I tried to work I had to correct 90% because when I said "ur 59 VA" they would come back with "tnx for 59 WV". Needless to say I didn't keep the 8 call when I upgraded the next time. Fun video, have a safe trip back here.

Walt, thank you for your very interesting videos. They are excellent. I look forward for the new video every week.
    I have a comment:
We people who do not have English as the first language, have trouble understanding the work stroke. Maybe it will be better for you to say slash, or, bar, or dash. Probably dash will be better. And explain from the beginning that you are an American operating in Poland. So the call sign is, SP dash, for operating in Poland, and my American callsign is K4OGO. Maybe it will be easier for us, with a limited proficiency in English, to better understand you.
Again thank you for the videos and safe trip back home.

I hear quite a bit of Europe on 15 and 20m right around 7pm here in PA. I love to hop on after dinner when I can. I don't seem to hear the same things on the morning side of gray line though. I do get some kinda north/south 10m FT8 on the way to work in the morning though. Stuff out of PR and the Islands, Brazil, sometimes southwest into Missouri and the Tennessee Valley. It's always interesting!

@@Steve-GM0HUU my 40m setup is pretty much nvis only due to the constraints of living in an apartment and relatively tight quarters. I haven't found a vertical solution I like yet so it's an efhw at about 15 ft above ground. I have honestly never even considered 30m.

Hi Walt, the midsummer twilight has to be experienced at least once. But have you also experienced the midwinter blackout? Here on the England /Scotland border we're about the same latitude as you there in Poland - and also with Hudson's Bay. I am very new to Amateur Radio so the phenomenon you are describing is all new information. All the best, Pete.
