    Hello sir and thank you for the wealth of experience that you are sharing it is greatly appreciated . I am 55 and have only been sledding trail for 5 years now and loving every moment I get . This is my first brand new machine 23 renegade xrs 900 r and I have very little idea what is involved for the initial ride and break in period. As good as the sales man was with me , it still felt like I was rushed out the door without any knowledge of what is expected for a first time owner , however watching you over and yes over again ( still ) I can say with confidence that I now know how and what to look for . Thank you very much for your time : ) .

    You should do a video on the mods you've done to your sled, like what riser are you running and can.

    If aligning the sks solo, use 2 ratchet straps. Ran from end of each handlebar to the back of the sled. Make sure the rachets are near the handlebars. Sit on the sled and tighten 'er down. If your buddy rode all day, his arms are probably weaker than the straps. Unless your last name is Rasmussen of course. Effortless riding.... Love it!

      I use XPS from Ski-Doo. But it's not critical what brand you use, anything to help keep the moisture out will do the trick!! Hoping for a short summer:)

    Hi Bret I really enjoy all your videos you are a massive asset to the sledding community. I have one question what size of rectangular tubing did you use for the track to ski alignment I really like your idea and want to build one for my self

    • @RideRasmussenStyle
      @RideRasmussenStyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If memory serves me correctly then I would say 2"X3". It's barely high enough with the 3 inch lugs on the new tracks, but seems to work alright.

      Awesome thank you so much for the fast reply i can’t wait to build one and tune my 850 in. Thanks again and have a safe sledding season!!!

    Just wondering if the ski pressure with the helper on the sled skew the accuracy of the ski toe in or out, with all the friction on the concrete? I have done this with the skis floating with no resistance.

    • @RideRasmussenStyle
      @RideRasmussenStyle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically you would want to make the adjustment with the sled at ride height rather than fully extended. If there is any scrub steer it will occur at full extension and full compression. With this suspension there is really nothing to worry about here.

    Hi Bret, I have a Scandic with 154 x 24 track calling for 1.77 inch deflection with 16 lb at deflection point after a 10 to 15 min ride to warm up track...hard to do in April....Is there a rule of thumb for a cold track? since the machine is up on a stand in my garage at the moment...

    • @RideRasmussenStyle
      @RideRasmussenStyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just spin the track up on the stand for a few minutes. That's all you need to do. I like to run the track as loose as I can without it slipping on the drivers. Because spring snow has more traction in it, we typically have to run a bit more tension. If it slips just tighten it a bit more.

    I have a squeak coming from the front end with I move side to side. Is there anything that needs greased on the front end?

    • @RideRasmussenStyle
      @RideRasmussenStyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just dry bushings in the a arm pivots and sway bar linkage. You could spray in some wd40 to lube it up and take away the squeak. It will come back after the first time you ride it though.

  • @spitfire6942
    @spitfire6942 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    For belt deflection on my 2020 Summit the owners manual says to have it sit higher on the 850s, line up the chord of the belt with the top of the sheave. And all other engines to line up the bottom of the belt cogs. You still recommend to have the belt sit lower?

    • @RideRasmussenStyle
      @RideRasmussenStyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to run the belt as high on the pulley as possible, without causing problems such as creeping or squealing at idle, or causing the engine to die when shifting to reverse. So typically higher than factory recommendation. This ensures that the clutch engages in the very lowest gear ratio. And that you don't have a lumpy feel during drive away.

    Is there a video to install visor plug kit for 2019 ski doo G4 , do you have to remove the hood?

    • @bretraspberry
      @bretraspberry 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The short answer is no, there is no video. But you will have to help me with what is a visor plug?

    • @bretraspberry
      @bretraspberry 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Fraser Mackenzie Okay, that makes sense, i don't use the heated visor. The hood will need to be removed, there is video for that. And then you will gain access to the wiring harness as well as ability to remove the dash panel for receptical installation. BRP also supplies detailed online instructions per the part number of accessory used. Just google BRP installation instruction.

    How is the sound of that diamond S can as compared to stock. I have looked at a couple of their videos but what can you really tell from one.

    • @bretraspberry
      @bretraspberry 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The quiet version has a real nice tone, obviously louder than stock, but does not bark. Its a beautiful piece weighs in at just over 3 pounds and comes highly recommended by myself. It actually makes power unlike most aftermarket silencers.I don't run the smaller, louder version, i like quiet.
