When I decided to pick up flute again in my old age I purchased an Amadeus SE-900 and love it. I would not have been happy with a school model.

Wow, I love all the information. I was “regifted” my old flute from elementary school. My brother had it serviced, wrapped it up and gave it back to me for Christmas. I am motivated to get into the groove to play proficiently. Thank you for this podcast.

Great video! I restarted playing flute after 30+ tears of stopping and through the lockdown and all of the pandemic flute playing has managed to keep my sanity. First thing I did was overhaul my flute so it’s playable again. Now I’ve been re-playing. I’ll look into finding myself a new flute teacher. I find it so hard under our current circumstances, but I’ll find one eventually.

Hi found this very helpful. I am just picking up the flute again after not playing for some years. It helped me focus on what I wanted to gain - etc. I feel like I am getting the bug all over again and have now had my first lesson in 40 odd years 😅. I love your videos and am learning a lot from you - thank you so much 😊

That so useful thank you so much. I am going to get my flute out today and start at the beginning of the Abracadabra Book. Thank you, I reconstructed my garden during lockdown and did too much gardening and practice got less and less. So
thank you for inspiring me to get back to regular practice.

Ok, I printed out the Kickstarter Guide. Thank you! I am 65 😳 And I want to start playing again after a little more than 40 years. You have given me hope that I’m not being ridiculous.
I guess my first step is to get a flute. That scares me. My last flute was an intermediate Armstrong with in line G, open holes, and a B foot. I think I’d like to get the same sort of flute but I’m intrigued with the offset G. That sounds like it could be more comfortable.
I know it’s possible to test play a flute but I’m so out of shape and out of practice I doubt I could tell a good flute from a bad one. Although, I can tell my old flute is in pretty bad shape. 😊

Go for it, Nancy! I'm 57 years young and just started playing again 2 years ago after playing in elementary through high school. I LOVED playing and decided, what am I waiting for?! Maybe there's a good music store in your town that can help get you started. An employee/repair tech looked at my old flute and for the cost of refurbishing it, would be better money spent towards a new one. He let me toot around on a few and found one in my budget. Don't feel guilty about spending the money on yourself, YOU DESERVE IT. Play and enjoy making music again. I torture my family with my practicing but I don't care... I'm so happy playing when I do it. I feel like I'm 11 years old again with my first flute!

Hi Tatiana. I'm actually teaching myself to play quena, which is a type of traditional flute from Latin America, but your tips have helped me out a lot, as many things can be applied to this instrument as well.
When I first tried to learn a few years ago, I had a cheap, tourist-quality flute and I never got very far, because it just didn't sound good. Last year I finally bought a professional one and it's been so much easier. Now I practice every day without fail (except Sundays) and I've noticed huge improvements.
Again, your channel has been a big help. Thanks again!

So I found this flute in a reliable music store that isn’t a few hundred euros but like a hundred euros. Will it still qualify as a decent instrument?

I'm worried because you didn't mention my flute, which I'm renting and going to buy soon, which is a Pearl flute. Are they good beginner flutes? Please tell me, because well, you've made me care very much with this video. Thanks so much in advance, and I love your videos!

I figure to understand and seek God further I need play an instrument, for expression, symmetry, symphony, to know thyself more greatly.
Im getting a xiao shakuhachi because of its energy and meditation value, will upgrade to a more expensive Bell shakuhachi after. Also want a classical flute to play along with music's I like. And a violin I'd like to get.
I recently subscribed here. I find I whistle so much, time to get a flute.
The greatest teacher is the greatest student.
And I think too the greatest teacher may be over qualified for beginner.
And everyone is learning at their level.
As long as you continue to strive learning, always becoming better.
