Beautiful playing, Trent. A bit disappointed you didn't get to the Best Brass copper on this better recording, because, as I mentioned in my comments on your first harmon showdown video, that mute was easily my favorite sound on that video. No matter, I got what I need from this very helpful demo. Thanks Trent!
I liked the first Faxx Copper. Sounded more free and easy blowing, not so muted but great tonal color. There were a few others towards the 2nd half of the show but can't recall names; I think Soulo Mute was really cool too; and Jo-Ral. ciao.
Nice to hear a comparison of these mutes. Soundwise I can imagine one would like to have a few of these, depending on the music you play. Reason I'm mainly using the Soulo mute is because this is a harmon like mute which I can easily put in and out without fearing it will fall out of the bell.
I realize this one is a few years old but I just got around to it. Great video Trent. I've enjoyed so many of your videos, but mostly I love listening to you play. I love your playing on this one (kept forgetting I was trying to listen to the mutes), but it sounded to me like a lot proximity effect on the recording; extremely tasteful and artist IMO. If you see this, could you comment on the mic setup and how it impacted the recording.
I love the sound you get on Tom Crown Copper. You left out the Bobby Shew Harmon Mute. JK. If you have a Bobby Shew Mute I would like to hear it. Thank you Austin Customs Brass for the video.
Which "wah wah" mute provides the least change in pitch when going back and forth between playing muted and open? To me the most important thing is to not have to worry about pulling out my tuning slide so much. I have to pull out so much with my Harmon and I really don't like that
@@austincustom Thanks, I ordered a Suolo from your website! I'm looking forward to seeing how different it is from a standard Harmon brand wah-wah mute :)
@@austincustom I got my Soulo mute in today and I love it! It came with a little 3D printed piece that goes where the wah-wah stem would go. What's the purpose of this little black piece? It seems to make the sound a little more zingy
STRANGE - ON FIRST VIDEO SOULO WAS IMPRESIVE BESIDE ITS LOW WAS MELLOW AND ON THIS VIDEO SOULO SOUND BAD NOT IMPRESIVE BEST BRASS ALOMINUM WAS NICE AND THE BRASSS WAS GREAT COLOR FOR SAD MELANCOLIC JAZZ N BLUES FOR RAINY DAYS

On this video my vote is for Tom crown Copper. It's a beautiful sound on the mic. Thanks for sharing.
My vote: "Best Brass Aluminum", a deeper sound {Dark} 🎺 Cool demonstration

The Tom Crown brass one, was that really brass and not the aluminum? Thanks for doing this comparison for us Trent. Really helpful :-)
I have the Crown mutes and the Copper Jo-ral bubble...For my ears, they have the closest Miles sounds.

Tom Crown Brass, then the Zinger. Like my Soulo I got from you best.

I loved my Soulo mute but unfortunately the black foam is starting to fall apart after less than of month of playing. Currently quite annoyed lol...
no Jo-Ral Bubble Copper?
We were sold out at the time. I mention that in the longer video but now we have 50 in stock 😀
I thought the best sound all around was the Soulo Harmon. IMHO
Best brass aluminum🎺
Yoh how about some extended notes so you can hear the hamonics; BEst brass aluminum was good ! thanks
