I was a carrom good player from 1964 to 2001 in the era of Arun Deshpande and Suhas Kamali. To day I see the players are much better than my time. I see a good future of this game. Good luck to all the players.

Yesterday I watched 2 hours of snooker, today I watched 2 hours of carrom. Then I was thinking about the similarities and the differences. Much similarities but one great difference: In snooker there is only one white ball, in carrom each player plays with its own striker. Greetings from germany to all carrom players!

I like playing with pool ball striker, but best Indian players prefer to play with another material, i don't know the name. Man made ivory is just a trademark but nothing special i guess

I would like to comment further that we have plenty of good players all over India and in foreign countries. Instead of giving huge amount to one player , if a bit smaller amount to several players, it would boost this game.
I remember the lab technicians used to play in CDRI, Lucknow during lunch hour. Once they had the striker in their hand, they gave nobody a chance. The game was finished by that one person. This is like watching street kids !!
myself and my friends play much better than these guys...n these guys are taking so long to complete the board..we didn't even knew there are competitions like this...these guys are missing cut shots....from the center area...still they are popular..wow..
This is not like other ordinary boards. it's champion board with accurate and very strong bar, the surface is about 20mm and very slippery here u can't play with the material u we play in ordinary boards (maida) here they use only boric that makes it even more slippery so the coins have to be hit accurate to the pockets even a little bit of displace the coins don't pocket in
