I initially thought there's no way I'd ever compromise on a kilt, but as someone who has been kilted and attending Highland Games for over twenty years now, I just realized I've rarely even noticed how someone else's kilt hangs. You strike up conversation about the tartan, their pin or brooch, or some other accessory; the kilt just kind of gets taken for granted. But yes, if you're behind someone, you definitely can tell without even looking - not that it's cause to judge them.
Love my kilts. All-in-all I am also enjoying the way we're working to build the wardrobe responsibly with our homes economics. This ain't like buyin' blue jean's! I am feeling fortunate to be doing business at our pace with USA Kilts and Celtic Traditions.
+USAKiltsOfficial *Thanks for the manufacturer perspective.* Were I to order a Premium Eight-Yard, I'd order it in 13Z wool; 16Z wool is fine for a Five-Yard.
? ...Is a 5 yard kilt scalloped the way an 8 yard kilt is ? ... and an 8 yard, 16oz wool kilt just looks like it would wear/feel differently, than a 5 yard, 13oz kilt...
In my experience five yard kilts aren't scalloped, and an eight yard in 16oz is noticeably heavier but it doesn't bother me personally. I like the weight sometimes
You guys made my five yard kilt and it looks great!

Why are those four guys walking like that ? Looks like something outa Monty Python. 😂
Everybody walks differently.
But they are trying to show off the way the kilt moves in different weights of material.
Saturday Night Fever was playing in the background but they edited out the audio.

🎉😊
I think the bigger difference is between a 5yard wool kilt and a 5 yard non-wool kilt. It's much more obvious.
ooooooh pleated buts!
If somebody is looking that close at the back of your kilt, you have bigger problems! 😠
😅
Well, that's certainly a thing.
Of course you can tell. One wouldn’t be so much more expensive if it made no difference. That being said I have a 5 yard and it’s great.
