@HalfLifeSistah I've loved this song and this band for decades. But watching and feeling your reaction to this song made me appreciate it even more. Thank you for sharing. Your absolutely beautiful reaction was my beautiful experience. Amazing..
It almost made me tear up just seeing her reaction to it. “Silent Lucidity” is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Queensryche was one of the first metal bands that used a full orchestra in one of its songs. Their versatility is amazing. They have songs that will punch you in the face. They have songs that make you think. Some of their music makes you happy. Some will leave you pissed off. Others, like this one will make you cry. I believe music should bring an emotional response and I don’t think there’s another band that will bring out every emotion like Queensryche does.
Every time I hear this song...I think of my Dad comforting me from the other side when I was a 7 year old child after he lost his battle with cancer. I'm now 51 and I still miss him every day 💔💔💔
Not this song, but can relate. I have had a VERY hard time hearing Three Little Birds by Bob Marley since '97, Wes was born to it. Can't honestly say it gets any easier, over 20 years later. Stay strong for the survivors.
I used to play and sing this song for my daughter. She loved it. Now she's a teenager and is all mouthy and wants to fall asleep watching TH-cam. I miss those younger days. lol
She will find her way back to it. I played to to my girls when they were kids ... my daughters are 23 and 26 now, this song is on their playlist for occasions where music matters. This song ... and Dream Theatres "The Answer lies within".
I love this song. I play it every year on the anniversary of my brother's death. When I heard this song was a month or so later it instantly made me think of my brother. This Nov 18th will be 29 years since his death.
Not going to go too deeply into it, but 11/18 is a black letter day for me too - but in a nutshell, loved ones and their death. Will be with you in spirit in about a month and a half.
I love your reaction. I have always loved that song. But it meant alot more to me starting on June 22, 1995. That CD and that track just happened to be in my car player when I was racing to the hospital, tears streaming down my face, as my first child was being born into the beyond. All these years later, anytime I hear that song, it brings me right back to that moment in time, probably the saddest in my life. And a still cry like a baby. I love that song so much. "You're safe from pain in the dream domain, a soul set free to fly." I love you and will always remember you, Robert Darnell ❤❤❤
I had a friend that absolutely loved this song, and I grew to love it myself. My friend would always say think of me when you hear this song. It never registered with me the context, until, because of a terminal illness, which had been concealed from me, the symptoms became too obvious to deny. I was soo angry that it was kept from me, but there was nothing I, or any doctor for that matter could do. My friend passed not long after, I was crushed, forgetting about this song completely, just going through the motions of life, on the verge of emotional breakdown, riding to our favorite places, just to relive every moment I could. Our favorite spot was at a beautiful state park, headed over this song happened to come on the radio just as I was pulling up, my eyes may as well have been waterfalls, my skin tingling with 'goosebumps' all over, and a calm came over me. I thought I could literally feel the presence of my friend sitting right next to me! I understand the request my friend made, 'think of me when you hear this song', in the most intimate of ways now. I know you are watching over me, I love you as much as I miss you, and the day we see each other again will eventually come, I know this as much as any truth. RIP AAB du_ub
Geoff Tate comes to Jergel's in Wexford PA nearly a couple times a year. The wife and I have seen him 4 times now, going to be 5 next month, and he sounds great still to this day.
I am from Australia and only heard this for the first time recently and my reaction was the same as yours. Why had I never heard this masterpiece before? I have always been so into music yet had never heard of this band. It is stunning!!
It's crazy how sometimes you find a song that's been around for years, yet you've never heard it but it happens to be EXACTLY to your personal tastes. It's like finding gold.
@@karldammann I just could not believe the sound reaching my brain. I adore Pink Floyd, and it reminded me of them but different, in a great way. I just wish that I had known of this years ago but am so glad I listened to it and know it now. Best wishes to you.
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. Makes me cry too. It has such a full, rich sound with the orchestral strings and deep, interesting lyrics. Top it off with Geoff's immaculate voice and you have a masterpiece!
I seriously "hear" my grandfather to a degree/and my ancestors before me, that they are here with me. ♥️♥️♥️ Telling me I know you're scared, but we are here. You will be fine. We're here for you. We want you to know...we're here for you. Your mom is here as well. 😞😓
There was reason for this song shooting straight to the top. Chris DeGarmo out-did himself when he wrote this. I've always hated the fact that he left the band although as a parent, I now understand his need to do so. In addition, this is a song you can listen to when you've lost a loved one and the hard grieving is done and you've accepted that they are still with you. You can hear and feel the beauty of the after life spilling out of this song and into you. Death is not the end it is simply a different beginning of a new existence.
Wow you must really enjoy your work I've never seen anyone get so emotional over a song I love the way you show your feelings. Thank you for being you.
I watched this again tonight almost a year later and I am still blown away by your beauty and the reaction you have. It is so genuine. Thank You So Much For Sharing.
This is the song that made me actually pay attention to Queensryche back in '90 or so. I had heard them, a friend was a big fan through the 80s, but never actually payed attention until I heard this song. And since then I've been a fan of the Tate/DeGarmo Queensryche. They were a force in music, and they never pulled any punches. I suggest the studio version of "Speak", from Operation Mindcrime. It's at the other end of Queensryche's style; "Silent Lucidity" is a soft and introspective ballad. "Speak" is a hard-hitting rant against injustice and abuse of power and doesn't associate itself with any particular party or affiliation.
Ditto.... in fact my 16th birthday cake had the Queensryche logo on it. Second best B-day cake I've had. Number one was when I was about 9, mom made a Pac-Man cake with gumdrops as the ghosts , red hots for power pellets, red string licorice for the board - Twas awesome.
This song was huge when I was in high school. At dances everyone got real close when this came on. Queensryche must have all looked at each other in the studio and KNEW they had a winner. And it was. Your reaction is why we get into bands and play our hearts out. Damn Covid. All the best from Canada.

Its not suppose to be a sad song but it so pulls upon your heart strings, Right. I'm there with you. A Joy mixed with hopeful plaintive sorrow. Realizing that some one you lost in life truly is with you in your dreams and is flying with you.
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song, subbed. I listened to Queensryche when this came out, I was 15 and it has certainly taken on more meaning after having children. Can you pass a tissue please? Love The Warriors as well, Can You Dig it?!
I love seeing her emotions, I share emotions with you. We experience this together friend, even this is not new to me, this song. It's like hearing it for the first time seeing you react.
Great reaction to one of the greats!! If you go back to the outro, the baby lullaby is being played by string section. Not to age me but it was so cool to find that in early listening stage 90s.
Watching you drowning in this amazing song, it made this all the more emotional. God, this is such a beautiful, haunting, and powerful song. You should listen to The Maze, by Manchester Orchestra. The first half of the song is written from the perspective of his newborn daughter, Mazie, looking up at him. The second, written from his perspective as her dad, looking down upon her. Channels like yours are why I love TH-cam so much.

This song gets me in tears all the time. My brother Abrahams fave song. He passed in an accident. He passed in 1995 was 24. Geoff Tate has a god given voice.
This breaks your heart, plain and simple simply because it's from a fathers love for his child. Something every person craves and whether or not they got it, seeing an example of it written and performed by a musical genius will crawl inside you and awaken that within you. It's different entirely to say for example the emotional reaction you get from listening to "Hurt" by Johnny Cash, again that's a very personal emotional roller coaster, but it speaks to the realisation and fear we all have about getting older, losing the people we love along the way and the wisdom to know that all things end and the material things in life are meaningless compared to the connections we forge with other people. I've come to understand that the music I enjoy is written by people that figure out how to speak to everyone about things that matter to us all. It's music that crosses all human boundries/differences/cultures. Rammstein's Deutshland is an example of this with regards to the history of germany and how many German people feel the conflict between wanting to have national pride while wrestling with recent history... and yet Germany has a rich past prior to the horrors of World War II of which they should be proud of, but many cannot get past what happened during the war. If you look through the translated lyrics you'll better understand what I mean. A lot of modern music is trash, it follows a formula to make money and nothing else. There are plenty of absolute gems out there if you're prepared to look and follow genres you wouldn't normally follow. Mastodon's Emperor of Sand album is another recommendation. Also the band Opeth is outright amazing, particularly their more recent albums (their older stuff is a lot heavier but is still amazing).
I was very emotional watching your reaction and thought how fool I am sometimes for not showing my emotions. Thank you for touching me so deeply and feeling more human.
If you really dig his voice, there's a little known band called LEGS DIAMOND and their song WOMAN is something you should Truly listen to. His vocals are Amazing, the band simply KILLS IT on this track. It WILL move you ...😉✌😎💣💥

Most definitely underrated, brother. Keep it metal, my brother.
