Hey guys! I'm a doctor and I have to make a clarification about not eating while in labor - if you need an emergency surgery the risk of vomiting and then aspirating your vomit (breathing it into your lungs) is not necessarily high, but high enough of a risk that we don't want to take it. Also if you're in a c section (where most mommas are awake) and you start vomiting, it's hard not to choke on it because you're lying extremely flat. Having vomit in your lungs is really bad because it's so acidic and can cause some serious issues for mom. But I've also never been pregnant, so I don't have the first-hand experience of how horrible this is lol. Good luck with your symptoms Colleen!

Hey, the cat litter thing is not BS. I’m in a vet tech school. Toxoplasmosis causes damage to the fetus. It’s a parasite in cat feces, not the litter, which is why you should be careful gardening as well- outdoor cats may have carried the parasite into your yard. Many cats walk on countertops, sleep near your head, put their paws on your face, all these are ways people can end up getting T. gondii. The fact of the matter is that most doctors are not well versed in zoonotic infections and infestations. The biggest risk for Toxoplasma gondii is allowing the feces to sit in your environment for the prepatent period, this is why it is recommended to clean litter boxes daily. I know you must have a fantastic doctor and that you are a great mom to your babies and your animals, I hope you’ll play it safe regarding this, even if you think it’s a load of garbage. I know that you have Persian cats and they don’t do a fantastic job of cleaning their sanitary areas. Please, if you have to be the one to wash the dingleberries off, wear gloves or scrub your hands thoroughly afterwards. Again, you probably do that anyway. I love you guys and am so happy for you all. I understand if you’d hate me for commenting this.
There have been a few things that made me think this too. Like why would you need a mini van for just 2 kids? And Erik said something about being the father of all the children and being responsible for "this situation." I also thought that she was pregnant awhile ago because her "allergies" were really bad in a few videos.
I had a 12 hour labour with my first. I had my first baby on Christmas Eve in 2019. I had a really great pregnancy (so grateful for that). I was healthy, had very little pain or discomfort the whole time, no Braxton Hicks or anything. At 4am on December 24th I woke up with a slight twinge of pain, I went to the bathroom and there was a little bit of blood on the paper when I wiped. The twinges of pain kept coming every 4-7 minutes and got worse. I called my husband, who was working a nightshift, around 5 am and told him it might be time. He rushed home right away. I called my midwife around 6am and she told me to come in to the hospital to check me out. We went to the hospital around 7-7:30 and I was dialated 4cm when my midwife checked me. The pain got a lot worse, I felt shaky, I had chills, I threw up several times. She checked me again and I was at 5cm now. I was really looking forward to get into the birthing bath that they had at my hospital. Around 11 am they were filling it up, then I felt a pop, my water had broken. I looked and it was murky green, dark and gunky. Meconium. My midwife said they have to move me to a bigger hospital, that has a birthing doctor, (my hospital only has midwifery) and a surgeon in case there are complications. They put me in an ambulance, my husband, who is freaking out, rode in the front. We got to the bigger hospital around noon, the midwife that met us at the hospital looked at my chart and said was there because of meconium and that I was progressing too slowly. I had to be connected to monitors for the rest of the birth so my hopes for a water birth were dashed. Around 3pm I was fully dialated and it actually felt like a relief because at least now I got a short break from the pain between contractions. I pushed for a bit less than an hour, the "ring of fire" is truly excruciating and felt like an out of body experience, because I could hear myself screaming but it didn't feel like it was me making that awful sound. At 3:58pm my son was born, perfectly healthy and absolutely beautiful, around 12 hours after my first twinge of pain. This was the most memorable and wonderful Christmas of my life despite spending it in the hospital ❤️
a friend of mine didn’t know she was pregnant until she was in labour. She had no symptoms she wasn’t showing, and next thing she was giving birth on the staircase. craziness
My sister was pregnant and didn't know until she was 8 months. She found out because she went to the doctor for a check up. She had her period regularly and even took the pill cause she didn't know. Her belly was not that big and she had the baby not long after she found out. Now he's a healthy 8 year old boy and he is my godson.
Omg I'm so excited and happy for you! I really hope the pregnancy is going to be easier on you this time around Also, hoped for a vlog to hear how you are doing and then found the podcast had come out just 1 minute ago! :)))
Two ways... if a woman's cycle is irregular she may not know she is pregnant... or, if it's later in life she may think she is in the beginning stages of menopause.
Twins? 🍼🍼 Can't wait to meet him or her or them 🥺 Flynn is going to be the best brother ever. The sweet baby or babies are going to have the best family ever.
My hairdresser didn’t know she was pregnant because she never showed and her baby was growing towards her spine. She never missed a period. She fainted because she was going into septic shock, was rushed to the hospital and when she woke up they had saved her and her baby, which was premature by a couple of months.

I know I’m struggling with a colicky baby and would love to hear how you guys got through it!!
I think she might having twins ^^ there are so many little hints: Erik saying they need/bought a van (no need for 2 kids but 3...), she's showing off very early on, she's very nauseous, she says "all my children", the end of her last video where they are at an ultrasound appointment... , she said that she's pretty sure she will give birth before her due date, ... it adds up😁 Either way if it's one or two I'm so happy for them ❤

I know this episode was ages ago, but I just wanted to tell you that where I work (delivery ward in northern Sweden) we encourage the laboring women to eat and drink whatever they want to have energy for the birth. when my mom was pregnant with me, she had really bad nausea, and she had to go to work in an office. she felt really bad one day and couldn’t go home, so she took the trash can out from under her desk, and threw up in it. she had some extra napkins from when she would order food and then bring it to her work, wiped her mouth, drank some water and continued on with her day! she is truly amazing and i will love her forever
I think once you either give birth or near the end you should do a pregnancy cravings thing with Kory, Flynn and Erik all of them like you did like a year ago with Kory I just love reactions so I want to see that but ya know that is all up to y'all it's just an idea I love you and I hope this pregnancy treats you better than the past I love you colleen ❤️!
Hey!! Just a thought you can do with your placenta since Erik is into gardening you can actually plant your placenta and it will help your plants grow healthy because of the nutrients in it, my mom planted mine and then a tree over it and the tree is like 19 years old now!! It is so amazing
Colleen somehow managing to avoid incredibly famous pop culture movie quotes her whole entire life until Erik references them in this podcast is a whole vibe.
I had a friend who didn't know she was pregnant. She went to the hospital because she was having horrible stomach pain. Turns out, she was in labor. She wasn't showing or anything!
@Julia Eynon I saw a video once about a woman who was pregnant and the baby was positioned in a way where the mom didn’t show (baby’s back was against moms back) and because of that, she wasn’t showing AT all. She went to the doctor and the doctor rotated the baby. The next day, she looked like she was 8 months pregnant (BECAUSE SHE WAS). So I guess coupled with something similar, maybe a false negative pregnancy test, and mild pregnancy symptoms that seem explainable, that’s probably how people don’t think they are pregnant.
i know a girl that was pregnant and didn't know it... she had stabbing pain on her stomach one day, she went to the hospital (she thought it was appendicitis) and she was in labor!!!!! it blows my mind to think i might be pregnant and not even know it, crazy!
hi colleen you should look up full liquid diet vs clear liquid diet! i’m a nursing student and it was so cute you two reacting to all the clear liquid stuff - sorry your nurse didn’t offer you anything other than ice chips if you were a clear liquid diet, not sure if you were ordered NPO (nothing by mouth) at any point which in most cases you can only have minimal ice chips. this labor definitely ask them for all the choices they have :) so happy for you and wish you nothing but a safe, healthy pregnancy 💗💕
I'm losing it at Erik thinking that "You can only have ice chips when you're in labour" meant "Finally, when you're in labour, you can have some sweet sweet ice chips again"
Pause the video “I’m Pregnant” at 1:15 when she tells JoJo she’s pregnant. The ultrasound picture shows two babies and two arrows pointing to the babies!! She’s having twins!!
I always listen to this podcast on Spotify but I decided to watch it here tonight instead and it was SO worth it to see Flynn's facial expressions when talking about his cars 🤣
Definitely not BS to not touch cat litter, I’m a 4th year veterinary medicine student and cats faeces can contain toxoplasma gondii oocysts which can cause abortion in pregnant woman, usually on farms cats spread to it flocks of sheep known as the intermediate host, in class they are always super cautious to ask if anyone in pregnant when handling dead lambs, definitely take all the precautions Colleen xx
A 40 week pregnancy is about 9.2 months. Most months have more than 28 days, which means they have slightly more than 4 weeks each. About 4.3 weeks per month on average.
Also, since in the US (and elsewhere) pregnancy is counted from the first day of the last period, most people only get pregnant around week 2 of « pregnancy », which means that actual pregnancies last around 38 weeks, which is 8.8 months!
Please can you asl the people who produce the podcast to make thw volume a bit higher? I have to put my volume on the highest setting, and then the adds SCREAM in my ears! Still, obviously really excited for you guys, love the pod regardless!
I was medically induced at 39 weeks and my doctors allowed me to eat breakfast the morning after the start of my induction. I arrived the hospital at 7pm the night before where they started cervidil, had breakfast (eggs and toast) the next morning and my son was born just before midnight that night. I'm grateful I was able to eat!
My first pregnancy birth was about 2 hours of labor, I pushed 3 times and out he came. My second pregnancy, we raced to the hospital. When we got there, the nurse had to physically hold my daughter in so she wouldn't come flying out on the floor while the doctor tried to get her gown on. One push and boom...baby! Doctor never even got her gloves on. Every woman's experience is different, but every one is special!

I also thought that she was pregnant awhile ago because her "allergies" were really bad in a few videos.
I can’t. Who’s back after knowing it’s twins!!!
Me!
0:45 you both said, "yeah so you guys" at the same time lol, and you both stopped cuz you thought you were interrupting eachother
I love mater 😂 “if I’m lying I’m crying”
a friend of mine didn’t know she was pregnant until she was in labour. She had no symptoms she wasn’t showing, and next thing she was giving birth on the staircase. craziness
Those nausea bands were an immediate relief for me when I was pregnant. Never lasted but they definitely helped!
Oh my gosh! I wish they had worked for me! They never did! 🤷🏻♀️
I really hope the pregnancy is going to be easier on you this time around
Also, hoped for a vlog to hear how you are doing and then found the podcast had come out just 1 minute ago! :)))
colleen: every pregnancy experience is different
also colleen: how could someone not know they're pregnant?!
Two ways... if a woman's cycle is irregular she may not know she is pregnant... or, if it's later in life she may think she is in the beginning stages of menopause.
@@patriciagallant8133 They were talking about cryptic pregnancies not just finding out.
I NEED an episode with Erik doing all of the ads with long pauses between words 🤣👌
I haven’t seen Colleen this happy in a long time in a video.
YOU ARE GLOWING !!!!!
I can’t wait till you tell us if your carrying twins or not !!!!!! You know how your fans are 🥲🤣🤣
Eriks head shot!!! Oh my god as soon as I saw it I realized he was in Bones! I don’t know how I didn’t realize before that’s my favourite show. Love you guys!
Colleen, you talk a lot about your rough pregnancy but I would love to hear about the early days with Flynn. I know he had Colic and it was hard on you guys. As a new parent I would love to hear if this impacts how you feel about being pregnant again with twins this time! I know I’m struggling with a colicky baby and would love to hear how you guys got through it!!
My sister said probiotics and baby chiropractic care did wonders for her son when he had colic.
I think she might having twins ^^ there are so many little hints: Erik saying they need/bought a van (no need for 2 kids but 3...), she's showing off very early on, she's very nauseous, she says "all my children", the end of her last video where they are at an ultrasound appointment... , she said that she's pretty sure she will give birth before her due date, ... it adds up😁 Either way if it's one or two I'm so happy for them ❤
and she did say she thinks she’ll give birth early for a number of reasons!! omg
@@lesley8655 yes ! And there is also the moment with Jojo where we see just a little bit of the ultrasound and it looks like there is two embryos but I’m not a doc so I can’t really be sure for that 😁
I know this episode was ages ago, but I just wanted to tell you that where I work (delivery ward in northern Sweden) we encourage the laboring women to eat and drink whatever they want to have energy for the birth. We only tell women to fast if there is reason to suspect the delivery might be an emergency c-section.
i love you guys so much. and i have to say CONGRATULATIONS again. 💗💙🌈 You two are the best parents ever to the sweetest toddler ever. i can’t believe he’s going to be a big brother. This is the best podcast ever. I can’t wait to see your journey. In so proud of all you have accomplished. love you
when my mom was pregnant with me, she had really bad nausea, and she had to go to work in an office. she felt really bad one day and couldn’t go home, so she took the trash can out from under her desk, and threw up in it. she had some extra napkins from when she would order food and then bring it to her work, wiped her mouth, drank some water and continued on with her day! she is truly amazing and i will love her forever
If it is twins, then that will be two miracle babies including from her last pregnancy! God is giving her a gift
“Well it said nothing about clear cheeseburgers” omg I laughed so hard at that.
"Kilometers? Is that even a measurement people use?!" - cackles in Canadian. (ps: kill-AW-mitters.)
cackels in canadian and literally a bunch other places in the world
Colleen somehow managing to avoid incredibly famous pop culture movie quotes her whole entire life until Erik references them in this podcast is a whole vibe.
@@katiesarfaty3667 Her skin on her belly wouldn't have time to stretch that much in one day
i know a girl that was pregnant and didn't know it... she had stabbing pain on her stomach one day, she went to the hospital (she thought it was appendicitis) and she was in labor!!!!! it blows my mind to think i might be pregnant and not even know it, crazy!
Congratulations on the new addition to
The already perfect family you have. Love you and wish you all the luck in the world on this pregnancy! 🥰🥰
hi colleen you should look up full liquid diet vs clear liquid diet! i’m a nursing student and it was so cute you two reacting to all the clear liquid stuff - sorry your nurse didn’t offer you anything other than ice chips if you were a clear liquid diet, not sure if you were ordered NPO (nothing by mouth) at any point which in most cases you can only have minimal ice chips. this labor definitely ask them for all the choices they have :) so happy for you and wish you nothing but a safe, healthy pregnancy 💗💕
Yep she announced it for real yesterday
Congratulations Colleen you are going to be an amazing mom of two and you to Erik!!!
At some points I feel like I’m intruding on one of their therapy sessions 💀
I always listen to this podcast on Spotify but I decided to watch it here tonight instead and it was SO worth it to see Flynn's facial expressions when talking about his cars 🤣
I think my favorite part of this podcast is the raw cut and the ads that just get talked right into the convo!!!
I feel like Colleen and Erik and Laura Clery and Stephen should do a video and talk about everything pregnant from both sides that would amazing! 🥰
“A british man reading me a sleep story” Am I the only one who thought Harry Styles 😂
yesssss!!!!
I've been waiting for this all day!! Love you guys😊
THIS IS THE CONTENT IM READY FOR
You’re having not ONE, but TWO rainbow babies! That’s such a huge blessing! 😍💕🙏🏻
I love you colleen and Erik I’m so happy for you❤️ can’t wait to see your 2nd adorable baby💗
52:42 "Doctors are our #1 demographic" THAT TOOK ME OUT LMAO
”Placenta is Latin for cake!”
That’s so funny cuz in my language it’s called ”the mother cake”
I was medically induced at 39 weeks and my doctors allowed me to eat breakfast the morning after the start of my induction. I arrived the hospital at 7pm the night before where they started cervidil, had breakfast (eggs and toast) the next morning and my son was born just before midnight that night. I'm grateful I was able to eat!
My new all-time favorite Flynn moment is him singing “I’m a little teapot” as a monster
Who's here after she announced she's having twins? 💜 I'm so excited for you guys!
Okay the clear juice conversation is killing me lmao. Yes apple juice and chicken broth are some options the hospital will allow when you are in labor. Please read this comment because I need to know you guys understand this rule lmao 😂😂
Okay not gonna lie eriks headshot looks like he should be in twilight
“You’ve been having mood swings too…”
Eric: *breaks fourth wall* 🧐
Time stamp please?
16:13 is the time stamp
i died at that😂
