Thanks for paying a visit to HK! I can't help but notice the McDonald's cover image of the video isn't from Hong Kong and I am quite certain it was in Mainland China. Anyways, hope you enjoyed this city!
As Virginia said, it’s refreshing to look at our own city from a tourist’s viewpoint. Thanks for making this series of videos and having so many positive things to say about Hong Kong. One suggestion though, next time when you are having a guest, especially on a busy street, give him/her a mic. I can barely pick up anything Virginia says even though her English is supposed to be on the fluent side
Solid series in HK! Glad you got to hang with Virginia for another episode. I love her personality. Looking forward to the next one in Japan with Gladys back.
Hope you've enjoyed Hong Kong, just to correct you, they don't speak Mandarin in Hong Kong, the official languages written in the basic law is English and Cantonese ;)
@@nikserof2183 Ahhh, I understand, however, simplified Chinese is different to traditional, and in HK they use traditional so you won't usually see anything in Mandarin like mentioned in some of his videos
The japanese Shogan burger (and their variants like with added egg etc) was that particular month's special menu item. Virginia mentioned a shrimp with pineapple item, that would be the japanese Ebi burger special menu which actually just returned to HK not long after you posted this video. The Ebi in particular is very popular as it usually cycles in around 2-3 times a year, more than any other special menu. It's also my personal favourite!
Loving this McDonald’s series so far! Super interesting to see the difference in items they sell in comparison to here in the UK! Great video as always Chris! 👏🏽
In Stanley Bay Hong Kong they had a pepper sauce burger that has never been anywhere else. I bought 6 ? Or more. I had them for breakfast the next few mornings. Never seen them since
I love pineapple on pizza. I love love Virginia ❤️. Last time I was in HK, the McDs had so many unique things. There was Fish nuggets, spicy wings, and 3 limited special meat based wraps but they were using like a gyro type bread
I feel like the UK plays it too safe too, the rest of Europe puts more geographical stuff. Im liking the maccies in other countries series, always fun to compare!
I’ve been to Hong Kong many times and each time I’m in HK there are things that interest me. Mcdonald’s in USA is different from Mcdonald’s in Canada. We have different menus. Canada had the seasoning with fries many years ago. By the way, what camera and gimbal are you using for your video?
Always busy in HK Chris except mornings, the wife is from HK and lives in Australia now and complains of the crowds every time we go back and she also gets lost and I’ve got to show her where to go lol, McCafe are also everywhere in Australia- my go to for a quick coffee, yes pineapple belongs on pizza, will need to check out McDonalds in a few weeks because menu looks so much different than my last visit
McCafe had been a thing in Hong Kong for what must have been a decade before they finally rolled out the brand in California (according to Wikipedia, technically the brand had existed in the US all along but in very limited locations).
i think that cake should be more of a purple yam than a sweet potato chris, purple yam is famous in the philippines or more commonly known as ube. love your vids. keep it up
All I can say is that I was impressed by 🇰🇷 McDonald’s 🇭🇰 McDonald’s also seems interesting 😊 🍟 Btw, love your channel buddy! Very cool Cheers from San Diego California
This is like one of the appeals of this channel. Seeing a Hispanic person explore Asia! Never see that ever. Hope u try to stay comfortable out there Chris! Keep doing what your doing
Chris, thanks for the postcard and the keychain, just got it yesterday and I love it. Very thoughtful of you. Love the video, great content as usual. Chris if I may offer a suggestion since YT doesn’t like fake market videos which happen to be my favorite 😂. Maybe you can show us other types of markets like supermarkets, fish markets or farmers/produce markets around the world. It’d be interesting to see how people shop in those markets, what they buy, prices etc. just a suggestion.
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed the gifts! That is exactly what I will start filming, those kinds of markets! I always appreciate your input bro, thanks a lot!
I am glad chris is doing this vlogs on different country to show people the real world i live in the US travel to over 25 country on business there are no gun violence or homeless in HK s US all the fake news and corruption and people just comment without any travel experience.
You must visit Malaysian McD if you come here. Our McD here is also different from Hong Kong. Here we have Bubur Ayam McD which is Chicken Congee and Nasi Lemak McD which is Rice cooked in coconut milk with fried anchovies, fried sunny side up and fiery chilli paste
McDonalds in the US phones it in now. All the new items as of late has been repackaging current items like the Quarter Pounder or Crispy Chicken sandwich. Still no wraps. No chicken tenders. No wings. No unique or signature burgers. The bagel sandwiches are the only good thing they brought back.
Haven't had a McDonald's for years but seeing the HK version was different. Would have one if ever go there for sure. Victoria is a great help to you. Thanks to her and also you for keeping the vlogs top entertainment. Till next time✌️👍
The one time I was in Hong Kong I went to an awesome one in a big mall and it was shoulder to shoulder busy! 30 people on the tills but a great experience! :)
I remember being a kid in Hong Kong in the 80s going to McDonalds. My main memory is that you always walk downstairs to get to it. As a kid though I always just got fries and McNuggets.
If I recall, I thought I saw an McCafe at Navy Pier in the state of Illinois I live in I believe you can get a pizza and pasta at a McDonald’s in Florida somewhere
One important thing, next time try the McWings in Hong Kong McDonald. I swear it is one of the best chicken wings in the world. As a local it is a must!
McDonald's not only in HK all over Asia is NOT like in America. When he goes to Malaysia & Singapore, he can try out their locals national cuisines that served there like Pandan Kaya Toast & Himalayan Ice Coffee. Taiwan & Japan have their specialties also. When he comes back to HK, he can do a breakfast McDonald to compare the differences. My spouse didn't know HK McDonald don't have the sausage breakfast burrito like in California, but we got the macaroni soup. The last time I ever had any fried chicken in U.S. McDonald was mighty wings I think is way before 2000. He should tried Jollibee in HK as well when he return. My spouse is Filipino, she and her family stated the Fried Chicken Meals of Jollibee in HK & Macao are better than in Philippine & U.S. Overall McDonald & 7-Eleven in America may probably never going to step up their game. The reason why there are so much favorable varieties in Asia because is usually based on the majority population and its locals there. If America is introduce with those foods, it always depend if there enough people to enjoy and how long would it last before they'll have to remove from its menu.
the next time i travel to hong kong plan to stay at guesthouse which costs less than hkd150 per nite and only eat McD KFC n Pizza Hut for one week to stay on course.
The video thumb nail pic is not a Hong Kong McDonald's, guess it's from other city in China. Thanks for visiting Hong Kong, hope you have a wonderful time here!
Boy Mecca's has spread its menu..never had pizza before or sweets like that ...some McDonalds have McCafe in some stores..loving this video..definately going to HK next year..already going somewhere this year....Australia McDonalds do not have pizza or any of the other items..love that peanut butter and condensed milk looked yummy...not sure on the cheesecake..what video is next?
Try pizza hut totally different than us they have a large menu and breakfast even steak a cheap family options but taco bell don't made it here Chinese are not into Mexican food but I love it.
Isn't there a purple yam (Japanese variety)? Thanks for sharing. I may try the matcha soy pie, fried chicken & the pizza! I may because there are too many things to eat there and not enough room in my tummy!
Absolutely. McDonald restaurants in Hong Kong never use Chinese as their shop logo nor in Simplified Chinese. That’s thumbnail picture of this video is a untrue and misleading one. Is that one of the tactic to attract audiences from mainland china? Or to be political correct?
Hong Kong food was cheap and delicious back in the time, but now the inflation is crazy...so the price raised quite a bit...if you come to Hong Kong few Years ago, maybe you could find the price was 10-20% cheaper, or even cheaper than that...Like the noodle I eat near my home was something like 20 HKD before, but now is 28 HKD, just in a few years man...The pandemic certainly have a huge impact to the price, I mean over the world is quite the same...

Sadly, incorrect. The basic law refers to "the Chinese language" and English, not "Cantonese" - as stated in the 1974 Official Languages Ordinance.

McDonald’s in Asia just hits different. They get fancy with it lol
Yes sooo true!
They probably still fry their apple pies
All the world secret McDonald's new menu comes from Hong Kong

McCafe had been a thing in Hong Kong for what must have been a decade before they finally rolled out the brand in California (according to Wikipedia, technically the brand had existed in the US all along but in very limited locations).
America needs to make a region (North East , South, Midwest, West, etc.) or major city type specialty foods at their McDonald's.
Yes very true! It would be a hit!
I think that would be a great idea.
McDonald's in Cheung Chau, HK outlying islands, sells vegan hamburgers during the three-day holiday of Buddha's birthday

It's cheaper to order the combo since you're getting burger, drink and mash potatoes

Ahahah yeah they do! Man that pizza was actually 🔥, well worth it
