Camila is an underrated vocal queen because people only relate to her as the girl that sings Havana but she is capable of far greater vocals than what is sung in Havana and most people don't realize that
I'm not a huge fan (just haven't gotten into the music) but I do remember that I'd sometimes hear Fifth Harmony songs and always go "Ooo that note sounded good, who's that?" and it was usually her
i love camila but Havana is literally my least favourite one of her songs

Your reaction: the emotion, the smiles, the wide-eyes on her high vocals, etc. were all of my reactions to when I watched this performance for the first time. Lol. Her performances are absolutely amazing. I wasn’t a fan of hers at first when she first started out because I thought she sounded nasally but she’s gotten so much better at her vocal ranges and control, I just fell in love her voice and enjoy watching her performances.

I have been waiting SO LONG for Tristan to react to this performance - basically from the moment the performance ended when I was watching the AMAs. And it finally happened! I was not disappointed. This was a great reaction to a great performance. Her voice kills me every time. Her unique tone, her note changes, the agility and control she displays during her riffs and runs, that beautiful head voice, and the incredible way she interprets and delivers a song in a way that makes you feel and believe every lyric she's singing is pretty special. Thanks for the reaction!

I used to sing professionally and she stood out to me immediately in the 5th Harmony audition process. (At the judge's house, when her turn to sing came, you could tell she clinched the deal for them - everyone was great up to then but she just took it right over, which was unexpected - that's why Marc Anthony had the response he did.) (The other one who stood out was Lauren, but she is different from Camila.) Camila stood out in ALL of their performances, both for her voice and her charisma and performance ability. She has the technical chops, the true musicality (which enables her to improvise) and that fabulous, distinct, slightly raspy quality, which you just can't buy! I wasn't surprised when she left the group. She sounded amazing in the limited part she had in Bad Things, but the rest of the song without her was a dud and the video was so juvenile and stupid - I thought she was going to just end up some minor pop princess. Then I heard and saw her performances for Havana - she was adorable, sexy, and sounded great, but the song was sort of limited. But she was getting more popular, so that was great. But I didn't realize until I heard all this other stuff she did that she has really cemented her place on the A - List. This song is fabulous and she just sounds amazing. I thought I'd think I Know What You Did Last Summer was teeny-bopper-y, but the climactic part when they are singing over each other and gaining intensity was really effective, it almost gave me chills, and her performance on Ellen blew me away. She is so comfortable on stage, she is so magnetic and moves so well and expresses so much emotion. I've watched some other videos e.g 2018 Billboard awards - when did this girl learn to dance?!! (I used to dance professionally too - I know dance!) She moves so well, way beyond what most singers with her calibre of voice are capable of doing. And the MTA's - I'm not into the Señorita song so much, but she was wonderful and really has chemistry with Sean Mendes. I'm really impressed by what she's done. PLUS she is very funny, sort of quirky with a self-deprecating sense of humor (you can't beat that with a celebrity!), doesn't take herself too seriously and is just - nice. Her backstory is inspiring too. Good for her - she deserves her success. If she has any detractors now she's pretty much proven she's the real deal now. I'm way too old to be paying any attention to this, haha, but I couldn't stop watching her videos the other day, and I'm happy someone like her is succeeding. Go girl!

I was taught all the techniques you talk about when I went to the Musicians Institute of Hollywood in 2011. Specifically about vowel modification and using the "mask" for resonance. But MI is a contemporary music school so these techniques are definitely not widely taught.

WTF?! I've been following this girl for 6 years and all I've ever gotten from her was a passionate, grounded, clumsy, family orientated, corny, loving, talented, and curious soul.
