Awesome plant selection. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️🙂
Very nice❤❤❤❤❤❤
So gorgeous!
The edibles are a great idea for a family property like this! I hope they thrive and are very appreciated by everyone.
Here in SW Washington state, zone 8b, on a property dominated by Oregon White Oaks and Doug Firs, there are three Soft Caress which thrive. One is putting up babies from the roots, the other two do not. They are gorgeous - about 5 x 5 or so.
I love the idea of keeping edibles where people will be cooking and grilling. Great idea and low maintenance.
Why is it that every time I see that you've posted a new video, I smile.
The cottage needs one of your bright colorful doors. Possibly that bright blue that’s behind you as you’re planting the herb garden.
Just love all your container combinations. These will be stunning. And the herb garden, what a great idea for a summer cottage.
Can’t wait to see it all grow!
Looks awesome Erin ,and what a great idea with the herb garden. Your family is lucky to have these cottages with a pool.
We definitely are!
I love the idea of planting up an herb garden in a place like that. That planter is so sophisticated looking and easy to maintain.
Thank you for another great video. I love your use of plants you might not see very often. I also love the Supertunia Vista Tiara Blue! I have them growing in my garden. For whatever reason, Proven Winners released them already in BC, Canada. Actually, I noticed quite a few new names of petunias that I did not recognize as being used by social media gardeners. It is very strange that you cannot talk about the new plants yet, but Heidi and Rod from Garden Crossings have already put a video out about them. Not fair to you. Anyway, once you can talk about them, it will be great to see what else is going to be available in 2025.
I love the herb garden!💚
Well done with the herb/tomato planter!
I CANT WAIT TO SEE THOSE FILL IN, ALL OF THEM ! What time is dinner so we can use those herbs ? Is Mr. Much more patient going to be grilling us up some steaks ? 💐💚🙃
Love the containers and the plants.
Great looking plants and the herb garden is a very nice touch of love for your family. The fence looks good. It was replaced last spring. If I recall correctly. I love the cabin compound and pool setup. Great idea of the original family members. ❤❤
Beautiful Containers with great plant selections, They are the bees knees.
Great video, I'll take it as inspiration for my next one! 🌿
Love that herb planter by the pool. Great idea to have herbs right there for cooking. FYI. Tomatoes love basil….it enhances the flavor of the tomato. Makes them sweeter. I’ve been doing companion planting for years. A purple basil would look nice where the flower is. You can never have too much basil in my opinion. Lemon balm is a great addition to salads and is perennial. Don’t think you have room for that. Flower pots are beautiful. They’ll be spectacular when they grow. Love it all! 🥰👍
The containers look amazing and how nice to not have to worry about them as much. Darn, I never remember which plants want fertilizer and which don't. I grew nasturtium from seed and of course I threw in slow release fertilizer and flower tone in the pots when I transplanted them. Argh!
thanks Erin! 🪴
What a perfect planter for herbs, love it!
Love the planters!! That bromeliad is gorgeous!
I hope you actually get to spend time out at the pool with your busy schedule Erin✨🌱 👙 🌊
Adorable herb garden! What a great idea for these summer cabins and pool. And yay for tropical vibes in the north!
Love these planters. They look so easy for non plant people. Wow, you packed the herb garden! No criticism just amazed admiration 🙂
I just read the article about your cottage in Midwest Living Magazine! It’s so beautiful
That looks so fun. I wish I was part of your family. A crazy aunt or something🤗
How far is it from your house?
Close! Minutes, really.
I am sure everyone appreciates your thoughts. What a way to pay it forward and share with friends and family. Also, looks great!
There's a few species of mahonia that are hardy to zone 5. Incredibly tough plants that do root sucker and can seed but nothing that's not easily controlled by a shovel or hand pulling once a season
Thanks!
Thank you @mariav5539! 💕
I use worm castings in my seed starting mix and I get big beautiful plants every year. I also use the castings in my raised garden beds.
Worm castings are my go to fertilizer and has been for many years.
Erin. Do they ship to Canada? I love the herb garden but no mint or lemon balm for cocktails 💝🤣🇨🇦💐
Wow, never knew knotweed made it to the Midwest. It's all over the East Coast. ☹ The pots look great!!!
Haven't opened my pool yet here in MI. Too frickin cold. Ugh
Erin are these the Bromeliads you smuggled in your suitcase? 🤣
They aren’t! Would you believe I went to a local garden center and they had some for less than I paid in Florida? 🤣 Not a great selection but you have to laugh. The Florida contraband is destined for containers at my house.
I love the planters. Easier for urban gardeners who may do a lot of containers. Nice thing for you to do for others family. I have noted the discount code offered by Crescent Gardens. I live in 5b; do you intend to keep plants that are perennials in the planter over the winter?
super mini tomatoes I have been waiting for you to start talking about these You grew yours from seed - Where did you find seed????
Aren't the vigorous plants going to smother the poor rodochiton?
Looks great! Always wonder- are self watering containers for plants that like it wet? Or does any kind of water need grow ok in it?
Hello! Yes, the plants will take the amount of water they need. You will refill the planter depending on the plant and the climate. The indicator will tell you when it's time to refill. 😃
Erin,
Just curious--will Dahlias grown from cuttings develop tubers?
Thank you. 😊
Yes, as will dahlia grown from seed.
Off topic here....can I cut off the hairy seed pods of clematis and have rebloom. Dr. Rupert is the variety. Thanks.
What happened to the plants you brought back from FLORIDA
Do you rent your cabin out?
Love your idea of the edible garden but should include some chives.
Thanks for sharing Erin! We love what you've done with your collection of TruDrop planters. 🪴 We can't wait to see them fully grown out later this summer! Definitely going to make a splash around that pool area! 🌊
