We know it was so bad he was forced to step down and he didn’t do so willingly, so they make it sound like he was unrepentant.

Look at both of these men, with their loyal followers just like we can expect when we follow the Word of God first. They disqualify themselves and just know you all will be cool with them handing the torch to their sons. Nepotism is alive and well and the these big mega institutions of money making are having their lampstands removed.

My wife I am not Black, we are Latino. However, growing up I looked up to Dr. Tony Evans as a minority who preached faithfully God’s word. My dad was our Sr. Pastor and while I never wanted to, deep in my heart I would say “I’d love to preach like Dr. Evans in Spanish.” My wife and I grew up listening to Dr. Evans in the '90s, now that I am grown up, I am about to be the new Lead Pastor after my dad’s retirement at my church. Suffice it to say, I was blessed to study in schools my dad would have loved to have had the opportunity; I learned that God’s justice is not retributive as many preach. God’s justice is restorative. I pray for Dr. Evans’ restoration. I long for one day to hear Dr. Evans preach again. If I could, I would have him come preach at my church and I would translate for him in Spanish. Remember all! God’s justice is restorative, and Jesus is the prime example of this. We are called to call all who are willing to come to be restored. The climax of the gospel message is not the forgiveness of sin! That is only the beginning. The climax of the gospel message is reconciliation and restoration. The climax of Christianity is not the cross as important as it is. The climax of Christianity is Resurrection. I pray for resurrection power and healing and restoration for Dr. Evans. Yes, even many Wesleyans like me listen to and respect Dr. Evans!

Pastor Tony evans has been a big part of my Christian walk. I bought his series CDs a decade or so ago. My heart dropped when I heard this news. It’s a reminder that the enemy is after all of us- no one are righteous no not one. We have to pray for our pastor and leaders of our church. Tony Evans is man not a god. He is a target for the enemy just as we are- pastors n leaders even more. He is a Bible teacher and Tony Evans has taught us to keep our eyes on Jesus to always seek the Lord, study the Bible ourselves. I love pastor Tony Evans and will be praying for him and his family. He was a blessing to me. I grew in wisdom n knowledge b/c of pastor Tony Evans. May God restore him and heal him whatever he needs to keep doing Gods work. 🙏❤️

You better say that! When I BOAST in my weaknesses then I am made strong by the support of the Soirit! It is good to depend on Gods strength!!! That’s a whole study on understanding and confessing our weaknesses and that it is fathers who provides strength and is our strength! Without this simple acknowledgment and understanding we negate the need for the savior! Simply meaning without God his might, his son and forgiveness we would sel destruction if left to our own devices!!

~~ Absolutely wonderful sermon ~~. It is spiritually revealed to me that this situation is simply a TEST (for those whom Pastor Evans has raised, served, and ministered to) to now step up, hold him up, and demonstrate what they've learned from his fatherhood, his teachings, his wonderful leadership, and from studying God's word. I'm so proud that God is pleased with the revelation of how those whom Pastor Evans has reached has been paying attention, been intimately connected with God, and have stepped up to the plate and have come to his rescue; not in support of any wrong-doing but to meet him right where he is. I've been tremendously blessed by his ministry. He has indicated, in his sermons, that he is not perfect and has sinned like the rest of us. Abrupt interruptions to flowing rhythms of life places true family members in position to take their rightful places as team members and supporters, in the manner that God has ordained them to. I see only good in this situation, in the absence of my knowledge of details to what interrupted the flowing rhythm. This is truly the time to confirm that God allows challenges, so that in the end, He gets the glory. Keep triumphing for God, son, family, and church family! This is all of your time to return the unfailing support to Pastor Evans' that he has been to you!! Only those who take the first step towards deliverance can get a prayer through to God. That first step is ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of sin; a respectable position to be in.
I know this day and sermon were difficult for you, as the son of Dr. Tony Evans. You did your Father in heaven and your earthly dad proud! I love your father Dr. Tony Evans, I have learned so much from him. Nothing can change that. We have all sinned, but when you own it and repent God is quick to forgive. He doesn’t love like people do. As far as the East is from the West he removes our transgressions. 🙏
Yes, of course God forgives when we repent but the matter here is not about repentance the matter here is about proper Biblical discipline being applied. Is the proper Biblical discipline being applied to leadership. And how would the congregation know if it is if he won't even tell them what it is. It is like he is saying I sinned but I am applying my own punishment just ignore what I have done. It has been my experience that when churches cover up the pastor's sin it is out of fear of losing people. At my church they tried to do the same things finally the truth came out. The sin was that the pastor was having an affair with one of the worship singers for many years. I think a congregation should know what the pastor's sin is because they are investing into the ministry. They have the right to stay and keep supporting or leave if they want to. But to cover it up it takes away that person's right. I understand how one can love and be loyal to a mentor but that doesn't mean you over look what the Bible says about these matters.
@@Honeybadger7 I understand what you are saying. However, Dr. Tony Evans didn’t have to step down but he did. That’s a start. He still has a right to privacy what he did is between him and God. That is why we don’t confess our sins to priests. People don’t have to follow him anymore. That is their choice. I understand if he has a problem in certain areas he shouldn’t be in charge of that anymore. Like you wouldn’t put a thief in charge of collecting money until you found out they had been rehabilitated. But everyone in congregation doesn’t have to know what he did. That is just gossip. He is responsible to his church elders. If the congregation trusts them it should be sufficient. And no one should be gossiping about Dr. Tony Evans. He deserves our respect, he has earned that until circumstances prove otherwise and we may never know. That is between him and God.

I think that the congregation is just as important as the church elders. That is not gossip. The congregation ( meaning those who are faithfully investing their time and hard earn money for the service of God) should know. Because unfortunately the elders can get corrupted by profit and cover up things. It is like government. This why many pastors get away with abusing children because the so called elders are more into damage control than Biblical discipline. Stepping down is just normal procedure for damage control. The pastor at my church was only going step down for 3 months until the truth came out.

@@Honeybadger7 The Bible says confess your sins (and he has confessed that he sinned) it doesn't say specify what the sin is. Everyone can't handle the truth. He went to the Elders and could've confessed to them. The Bible says go to the Elders. Some people want to know so they can gossip. That's not why God wants us to confess sin, so people can gossip.

I see a lot of repent, and he has to get straight. Dr. Tony has served and operated in integrity. Many people have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ through his ministry. The fruit is there.
He goes through a difficult time and weakness; and now people just abandon him. This illustrates a lack of love in the body of Christ. You can see the legalists manifesting.

I found out about Dr.Evans in prison in 2004 and listening to him Monday -Friday delivering God word is what Helped me through that sinful battle.Sin is in every one’s life he is still a good man and l love Dr.Evans 💯

Does he even know what his father's sin is or was? It's easy to applaud him for coming forward if we don't even know what the sin was. We know that his buddy Robert Morris just now got exposed after decades of being praised. Careful y'all. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ and stop idolizing these fallen men. Yes we all sin. Before yall get all worked up. Of course. But there is a higher standard for a man that stewards the Word of God. This hurts and people need to stop making excuses. Forgiveness is fine but there needs to be accountability and repentance. Not just stepping aside because they got caught.

I am so proud of Pastor Tony Evans for admitting and confronting his sin. He who says he has no sin is a liar and the truth is not in him. Jesus will return and we each will stand before Him and give an account. Let us each assess ourselves, admit our sins, repent, and go deeper and higher in the Lord before He returns.

I love Pastor Evans and his family. Lost my husband a few months before he lost his wife. His sermons ministered to me. Lord i pray for pastor Evans.
Thank you for these reminders. This chapter reminds us that the people He uses to share His word to us are indeed people who are not God. We must be still and remember what we already know, and that is that only HE, our heavenly Father, is GOD. Praise God for the reminders of Him and His power sprinkled and spread throughout the Bible.

After years of studying with Tony Evans over 40 years and constantly talking about him my ex calls and he mentioned he was now listening to Dr.Evans. I said it’s about time.
From a child riding home from primary school up to an adult, I listened to Dr. Evans. We would’ve never known what he did if he never said it. I respect you Dr. Evans. I love Dr. Tony Evan’s. He has really helped me grow into the woman of God that I am today. He is a great Teacher and man of God. So full of God’s wisdom. I listen to him on the radio. He is 1 of my favorite Pastors. I think of Abraham and Moses, they fell into sin in their life but that didn’t stop God from using them and it’s not going to stop God from using Dr. Tony Evans either. It will only make him stronger. This is my 1st time hearing a sermon from Johnathan Evans and I love this sermon. I’m really enjoying it. I know Dr. Tony Evans has to be very proud of his son. Praying for Dr. Tony Evans.

You said we will fail and if this is true then no one is going to be in the kingdom.
When the lady was caught in adultery Jesus said I will not condemn you but go and sin no more. So should we continue to sin because of grace God forbid. It’s not my words but scripture. So in order words according to scripture we should stop sinning. And it’s quite possible to stop sinning if Jesus said then it’s possible.
So stop saying we will always fail . If that’s true then why did Jesus came ?

Praying for this family. I go to a mega church in South Fl and our pastor was confronted with a sin, where he did not confess. I applaud Dr. Evans for his admission and I pray that he will find forgiveness as we all have. Dr. Evans has been instrumental in my life through bible studies and I've heard his sermons online and in person. I pray the Lord will bring him peace. And for anyone who doesn't know, we are all vunerable and we need to pray more for our leaders because the enemy is after them. It might take a lot to bring them down, but they are not Jesus and they do not always have the ability to stand the test like Jesus did.
Pastor Evans was forced to admit his unnamed sin. He could have confessed the sin to God, repented and retired. There is no point in admitting you have sinned and not shared it publically. The Elders decided that his punishment would be to confess an UNNAMED sin publically. That is called scripture manipulation.

The church said he resigned only after multiple meetings. They made it sound like it was so bad they had to force him out. They should clear his name if they can.

I am listening to this message on June 19, 2024. I loved every second of this message!! I took notes on my cell phone, while listening on my cell phone. You have no idea how much I needed to hear this message, and here I am again, listening again, the morning of the next day! I love the fact that Jonathan Evans even admitted that he’s not the “cover” that he thought he was. It’s refreshing to hear when pastors admit their short comings. My beginning years with the Lord, I actually thought pastors and those in the 5 fold ministry had it all together. But I realized, no one has it “all” together. I 100% appreciate this message!! I tell you what, don’t know Pastor Evan and the ministry but I am praying for him and the church. First time I ever even came to hear any of his messages here. His son gave an awesome word! This is powerful, every day living word.
Dr. Evans sermons literally changed my life. Repent and come on back if it's God's will. We need you. Translate those sermons and get them out. The world needs you.
Pastor Tony Evans has definitely been there for us-through his sermons, podcasts, his wife’s ministry, his children’s legacies and ministries, his Study Bible and Commentary-we praise God for his work. We pray that he rests, is revived, and is refreshed in the Lord after his time away. May God pour into him and strengthening him. The world may say Dr. Evans failed as a pastor, and by Dr. Evans own admission they have some accuracy to their perspective. The world cannot say he failed as a father though, which is the higher calling, in my opinion. Dr. Evans look at the phenomenal job you did as an earthly father to your children. Outstanding!
Love this assessment, @motivation4u. The day the news broke about Dr. Evans stepping down, numerous reaction videos had already flooded TH-cam feed. Wanted to watch this video first just to hear from an inside voice rather than the wildly speculative clickbait. Happy with that decision. Only about 5 minutes into the video so far, but what's very clear (and truly impressive) is that the moment is not "too big" for Jonathan Evans. He is poised and prepared for it. A testament to his own character as a man, to the influence of his father, and ultimately to the Lord's grace. Our men's discipleship community was founded and inspired largely based on Dr. Evans' influence, so we are deeply grieved by what has transpired - both the sin and the aftermath - and at the same time resting our confidence in God to work out His redemption and be glorified in the end.
I am so loving this word. I first heard Dr. Tony Evans when got saved over 35 years ago. Listening to his son makes me see and experience his legacy. Listening to Jonathan reminds me of his Dad. I thank God for Dr. Evans. His voice made me grow as a baby christian. I appreciate you Man of God. Blessed by your ministry.

I've been listening to Pastor Evans since the eighties and I will not stop now. Any discrepancy he feels he need to be redeemed from is between him and God. We should not look down on this wonderful man of God. For we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. He is still covered in the blood of YESHUA. We as his brothers and sisters in Christ should also be covering him in prayer. This powerful man has integrity and I respect you and Love you, Pastor Evans. May God bless you and keep you. Amen....and his late wife just in case people looking for trouble start thinking he got divorced or something. Love Dr. Evans and this is an actual case of a just man falling. Continuously praying for him and his integrity and fruit will last. God is faithful to uphold the righteous and especially those who humble themselves and actually repent.

I had the pleasure of meeting Doc. Evans at the University of Akron at a time in my life when I felt like giving up. I told him thank you for teaching the Word. He shook my hand and spoke kindly. He was 'very' humble. Emphasis on 'very'. Lol...I'll never forget his kind spirit. You're a chip off the old block. 😂❤❤❤
