As a repair shop, this is so frustrating! Sketchy shops like these give us ALL a bad name and only further damage our already struggling industry. So glad you were able to help them out.
I took a leap and went and bought a broken Sony 4k projector on eBay auction and tried to systematically fix it like how you do in your videos. Red light flash on start up and started tearing down. Started with bulb and what do you know?! It was busted! Replaced bulb and just like that, all fixed!. 100 hours of enjoyment so far! Awesome!! It was a risk that paid off 😊
400$ for a "repair"?! It would be baffling expensive for a real repair when you can find perfectly working Series X for around 400$. I got mine brand new, factory sealed for 350$.
@@astigon1565 Unfortunately it wont help you my information since I'm living in eastern Europe. Anyway, I got two - one for me and one for one of my buddies. I wanted to buy a 3rd one but the seller didnt wait as my 2nd buddy didnt answer he in good time. Now, used Xbox Series Xs are between 300 and 400 around here. I just found out what you are going threw this is the first video I've watched in awhile due to personal reasons but my heart and prayers goes out to you. I love your content and have learned so much from you. My current PlayStation 4 I've had for ten years only because of the repairs I've learned from you. I really hope you pull through this and I pray it only makes you and your family stronger
I love how you never talk crap about other repair shops. Youre always respectful and give them the benefit of the doubt even when its obvious the other shop did a terrible job.
Just a quick thank you from germany Steve :) Only because of this show and the message, that repairs are in fact doable i bought parts together and remade my good old Amiga 500 with new caps and everything fixed and can enjoy my childhood games again. I even bought a digital microsope because you showed this many times, because my eyesight isn't the best anymore, antd it is fantastic to do soldering jobs that way. Hope you get well soon, you can do it! :D
This video is a month old, but it was so satisfying watching you take out stuff and saying what the hell did these people do while you fixing, thank you for saving this person xbox It seems to me you was the last resort of hope.
I just tore down my ps5 today all the way down to the heat sink to clean it out all off of this man’s videos! I’m even debating on turning this into a side gig cleaning my homies consoles and computer towers thanks for the guidance and wisdom man!
Hey Steve, glad you're doing well and still fixing stuff that other people broke. I'll always be grateful for your soldering course. It has allowed me to fix several small electronic devices around the house that I'd have otherwise thrown away and replaced.
100% it was someone who's literally never fixed anything, they got it open, found when they pushed on the socket it would kind of work, they taped it, claimed victory. They had it torn all apart so they thought they were supposed to throw some more thermal paste in there, like regreasing a bearing sort of, so the more the better.
This is bad even for a new guy and what about the one who is above him (if there's even someone else) can't he just guide him and have it fixed right? This kind of work and ignorance drive me crazy tbh
Steve, I always get excited for one of your videos and I could still hear you fix an old TV remote by diagnosing faulty AAA bateries and would be content with it. Hope all works out for you in terms of health and that you will grace us with your presence for years to come. Have all our strenght and THANK YOU!
You are great man. Been watching for awhile and didn’t know what you was going through. Keep fighting brother. Your ability to upload videos shows your strength.
Oh wowo $400 for that work? No way! Well done on the repair, I think we seen you repair soooo many of these HDMI ports already on your channel. Good luck with the health man - rooting for you.
Great fix Steve and giving some insights that you’ve found regarding the area that doesn’t get much heat/love. I hope the treatment is going well and praying for you.
Oh my god, I have been watching him for so long and I haven’t seen him recently and now I’m back and he has cancer? I’m so shocked!
