If the GOP led congress wants to change the budget they should. I encourage them to use the tools of government to do so. Congress sets the spending agenda. It is not the role of the Executive branch to willy nilly decide they don't want to spend money on something. That is unconstitutional. The constitution isn't a salad bar where you can pay attention to the parts you like and ignore the parts you don't.

His actions are at best a conflict of interest and at worst criminal. As a libertarian, I don't like the stupid spending but I believe in the constitution, rule of law, and due process.

USAID has funded multiple Western mainstream media outlets, including BBC, Politico, Associated Press, Reuters, and The New York Times, among others. These media outlets, upon receiving funding, may have their reporting influenced to some extent, thereby serving US political objectives.

Regardless of how you feel about Trump and Musk (that's all this piece is really), consider the simple truth that much of the spending via USAID exceeds Congressional authority, which is limited by both the Constitutional taxing and spending powers, both of which are limited to the "general welfare of the United States." Pretty hard to argue that much of the USAID spending satisfies the requirements. So rant all you want about how horrible Trump and Musk are and just wait until they start challenging Congressional authority regarding any foreign spending. US taxpayers deserve to have spending reigned in.
