They may sound similar, but they have their differences. Kate has a cleaner tone than Colleen, but Colleen has more snark and more character. So logically this statement of his should be backwards.
Actually Ashleigh Ball is a really solid voice actress for Tails. In Sonic Prime, Tails actually sounds like a boy. And no, I don’t hear Rainbow Dash’s voice acting in Tails’s voice there, it’s getting really annoying that people keep saying that, especially being an anti-brony myself. The only flaw with Ashleigh is that she lacks a more intellectual characterization of the character that Colleen had. Also I would say that Colleen is the best over Kate. Kate’s not bad, but her Tails sounds slightly generic, if you know what I mean. I think Colleen had more personality in her take.
But i couldn't hear Colleen Tails voice the same after hearing the first time Naruto English Dub. Her Tails perfomance really sounds like how she voice Konohamaru.
No, don’t get me wrong. I do love her work on other tv shows and cartoons, it’s rather weird to hear her play Tails as Rainbow Dash from MLP. Although, I don’t necessarily watch MLP much often, but I heard quite a lot about it. So, no, I don’t hate Ashleigh Ball as Tails, it’s just that I don’t like her take on it. Just like how I don’t like to hear Sam Vincent as Sonic, nor Brian Drummond as Knuckles.

B:"Brian Drummond is the Best voice knuckles had, everyone else goes for the stereotypical deep and growly though guy approach, wich apart from being fake like the game apologist pointed out, makes it sound like he's an adult compared to everyone else! With Sonic X taking the cake in that department. Why? You may ask, well, because apart from an earily simular voice to Clancy Brown, the writing is attrocious. Knuckles comes across less like sonic's equal in age and experience, but combined with his solitary background prone to naievity, and more like he should be his daddy who knows better, but doesn't, so it's just stupid like flanderized Patrick Star! In conclusion:"Sonic X was the Superfriends to knuckles' aquaman"!
