  • Recently I got invited to go surfcasting in the Far North of New Zealand. I have never done this style fo fishing before and for this trip I was going to be fishing with a NZ Surfcasting legend by the name of Chad Prentice. Chad got us access to a stunning white sand beach via private property and the scene was set for an epic adventure. It was a massive learning curve for me and I will be forever grateful to Chad for sharing his experience with us.
The reason for the trip was to film a bunch of Shimano’s surfcasting product for their promotions, I thought the footage was too good not to share.
If your into surfcasting or wanting to get into this awesome pastime then this video may be worth a watch.
Thank you to the team at Shimano for giving me this opportunity.

Guess my problem back in the day must have been I wasn't using crays for bait :-)

Do you think you would have caught more if you were using Daiwa rod and reel?
