  • Valencia, Spain is famous for its fertile soil surrounding the city and the most famous produce are Oranges from Valencia. That's why you'll find over 10k oranges trees throughout the city, giving honor to this beloved tree.
Interesting fact about these trees, the fruits these city trees are baring are oranges of a bitter flavor kind - so people don't pick them from the trees to eat them. They're there for decoration and not consumption.
Around this time of the year, before the oranges are getting too ripe, fall from the tree and hit people on the head - they bring out this oranges harvest machine. It's incredible to watch!
Have you heard of Agua de Valencia, the city's own cocktail:

@@ChadFreeman757 it's sad really, I live in the UK and most of our urban areas are the same. Nothing growing lasts long if it's even allowed to grow in the first place.
Worse still because there are PLENTY of cities in mainland Europe that are allowed to have natural beauty.

The first oranges were brought to Spain by Muslim traders around 1000 AD. They flourished in the hot climate of southern Spain, and provided ample shade in public and private courtyards, and along city streets.
