Fun Facts about this video: 1) I last worked on this video months ago, probably back in May or April. Originally, I had planned to work on it weekly, but then I got busy and the cycle of not continuing with it sort of became a habit. Today I tried to work on it again but then I realized I didn't have the motivation to continue. So I decided to post it today. 2) If you check the description, you can find all the AUs and fanfics I used for the video. All of which I recommend you read because they're absolutely amazing! My favorites would probably be the ones made by Ranpo_Writer. 3) The description itself is 3000+ letters long! I was so worried that I surpassed the YT limit when writing it, but luckily I missed by 2000 letters. Phew. 4) I actually made 2 versions of this type of reaction which both featured Ranpo. The other one was made with my old designs however, though admittedly I did get farther compared to this video. 5) The AUs made by Me (Rubchug) that were featured as "(Not written)" are fanfic ideas I plan to write one day. Hopefully I will get to that sometime, though I'm currently busy with my current fanfic called Do I Inspire You? Which I've been posting videos about recently ✨️ 6) Mori said (or thought) that Ranpo was "a failed plan," that's actually a reference to another fic that I wrote called A Failed Plan. It features a little headcanon I have of Mori and Ranpo and if you wanna know why Mori calls Ranpo that well, give it a read! 7) I may continue this video in the future if I ever get the motivation to do it again. Although I plan to work on a different reaction video first. Still includes Ranpo though! 8) Remembered my watermark yet again! WHoo!
I looked at the au list and got really excited! I love the Port Mafia and Cafe Uzumaki Ranpo fanfics sm!!! I do hope you continue this as I find it very interesting and I love all the details. I think I'll go and take a look at all those fanfics in the desc, take care of yourself! ;3
Same! I haven't been able to find any other Café Uzumaki Ranpo fics other than pour me a cup of love and sugar by Seito. If you have any others that you've read, please send! I'm starving here for new AU fics! Perhaps one day I'll continue this. Maybe when my motivation is high and I feel like designing all the AUs. That was the real issue behind the discontinuation. I simply couldn't be bothered to make the designs, it was a hassle especially when most fics barely give a description for what their Ranpo looks like or don't provide art. The posing, expressions and dialogue was easy though. I hope you enjoy all of the fics I listed in desc! I love reading fics that really hurt the characters I love, so you'll see a ton of those in the list like: he could not tell (what hurt more), A World So Bright; because it's on fire, An Hourglass Tilted on it's Side, etc. But I also love reading canon divergences and alternate universes where the characters change a ton like: A World Turned Sideways; must still continue on, The Price of Power, Dark Star, etc. So if you're into that, I got even more fics that I didn't even mention in the list. My favorite bookmark tag that I use on my bookmarks is a tag I made which is just "good au" 😩✨️ Of course you can get inspired! I'd love to see more AU reactions adding more fanfiction to their videos. Seriously, I'm tired of seeing cool AUs that the owner clearly thought about well, but then I have no way of reading them for myself. No fair! I'd be even more intrigued if you made a Ranpo AU reaction like mine 👀 I need some more fanfics for my favorite detective, but I'm down to see if you come up with one for another character! I was just reading a story by Edgar Allan Poe called the black cat and it gets dark dark… I will say if you wanna read it there is lots of animal cruelty in the story at the beginning
If I only I got that far! Dark Star and Devil's Crest are one of my favorite PM Ranpo fanfic series I've ever seen. I remember how much chapter 1 had my feelings in a spiral after Ranpo threw up in the trash. The reason had me in tears. Hopefully you weren't too disappointed that I didn't get that far to include it in the video, but I hope you enjoyed it all the same. Thank you for the comment!
After Effects is an AU of mine that I plan to work on along (or after I write) Do I Inspire You? If you're asking what the AU is about, the synopsis is essentially this: When Ranpo was captured by Poe with Yosano, instead of solving the case when she died, Ranpo had created a situation where the murderer was obvious. Thinking outside of the box. In short, Ranpo kills a person and declares himself the murderer. After escaping, Ranpo finds himself seeing things out of the corner of his vision. Things start getting weird and in summary: the protagonist of the book is seeping into Ranpo's body and is starting to control him.
