As someone who grew up playing doom, I can honestly say I might prefer the original over E1M1 in the original release. But this remake is absolutely amazing and my fav by far I've heard.
I love this song. It gives 3 main impressions of DOOM. First - bad ass moments. Second - gives sort of reminder you're playing horror like game. And third - makes you fill the pain doom guy is going trough, and how important are your actions now. Don't get me wrong, all DOOM soundtracks are awesome but this one gives that extra feeling beside being bad ass and ripping and tearing.
Idk what to say really, I like it, but it gives off a totally different vibe than the one from E1M8 and E3M4, House Of Pain in particular, to me it really gives off that sense of dread, despair and isolation: You against a million, and absolutely nobody will watch your back and look out for you, just you and you, nobody else.
As a musician of 30yrs this is a really really really good remake like... Really really good! It's like an actual instrumental song that speaks without vocals. Well done!
