I've read some books where it is written that Imaginary is not the mirror stage. Mirror stage is an intermediate between imaginary and symbolic stage. Imaginary is the pre-oedipal stage , mirror stage is the stage where the child learns to see himself/herself in the mirror and thinks of it as his/her own self, but in reality it is not himself in the mirror but only an image version of him/her. He mistook the mirror image as himself/herself. Then comes the symbolic stage. If you have any answers or clarity regarding this theory you can tell me or recommend me some books where it is written that imaginary and mirror stage are the same.

This is the only channel which have the accurate description. Other channels treats Mirror and Imaginary stages as 2 separate stages without rectification. Hello Sir, I have a doubt... In the book "Contemporary Literary Theory: A Student's Companion" published by Trinity Press, it is mentioned as: Mirror stage as the first stage with the period between 6 months to 8 months in the infant's life. Imaginary stage as the second stage where the child sees its own reflection in a mirror and begins the mapping process. Symbolic stage as the third stage where the child would be around 18 months and the child connects the ideas, emotion and situation symbolically.

Imaginary is the pre-oedipal stage , mirror stage is the stage where the child learns to see himself/herself in the mirror and thinks of it as his/her own self, but in reality it is not himself in the mirror but only an image version of him/her. He mistook the mirror image as himself/herself. Then comes the symbolic stage. If you have any answers or clarity regarding this theory you can tell me or recommend me some books where it is written that imaginary and mirror stage are the same.
But idk why I hav read some books...there I hav found Imaginary and Mirror Stage conveys same perspectives

Hello Sir, I have a doubt... In the book "Contemporary Literary Theory: A Student's Companion" published by Trinity Press, it is mentioned as:
Mirror stage as the first stage with the period between 6 months to 8 months in the infant's life.
Imaginary stage as the second stage where the child sees its own reflection in a mirror and begins the mapping process.
Symbolic stage as the third stage where the child would be around 18 months and the child connects the ideas, emotion and situation symbolically.
I read the same thing is "Tyson's book
