I have been riding the HUNT 40 Carbon Aero Disc Wheelset for about 1.5 years now and they have been absolutely perfect, no issues at all. I got them at a great price point and they have been an awesome all-around wheel, which is exactly what I was looking for.

What a great place to do the sub50 introduction. I actually bought hunt wheels because of DC. Now I own 4 and my bike shop is selling Hunt wheels in the Philippines. Can't wait to get my hands on these new Sub50s!

8:25 their 40CGR are essentially Zipp 303 Firecrest and I’m not exaggerating check them out, on sale they’ve gone for under $1kUSD

I was on the fence of buying Hunts a few months ago, but opted for FFWD wheels instead. This video kind of makes me second guess that. Hunt seems like a good company overall. Can't say that I have complaints about my current wheelset though and they are comparable in price.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the FFWD wheels. I hope to try them some time myself!
DC, good review. Been riding hunt 50s on my dogma and great quality for money. Will be looking at upgrade to sub 50. Have you also looked at craft racing wheels? Their cs (carbon spoke lineup) are ridiculously lightweight and 16 spokes up front. Another chinese brand, newer than far sports, lun hyper. But great price point for performance .

Has anyone of you ridden them and can tell me if they are worth the price? Really interested in those wheels. But dont know if I should rather go with 303 Firecrests or FFWD Ryot 44 240s

Hi, Chris. I'd have killed to have ridden some serious miles on them. I have not yet been able to get my grubby hands on a set.
I wish there was more pushback against hookless rims.
I do see a ton of comments about the whole hookless choice they made. I guess I should look deeper into the subject. I have 3 sets of wheels currently hookless, all road wheels. Thankfully, I haven't had any issues but with a dozen viewers all commenting their hatred, I owe to myself to look into I suppose.

hookless is bullshit for road cycling and even more for road racing, i thought that hunt know how bad it is and never come with hookless. but i was wrong, they just try to be next to big brands because they are doing it. sad story
I got a set of Hunt carbon gravel wheels, bearings failed within 3 months and spokes started breaking at 18 months, worst wheels quality wise i’ve ever owned. Buyers beware.

Hookless is unacceptable. There is no benefit to the end user at all. Only the manufacturer. Hookless will not exist in 5 years.

1428 grams? Wow heavy: Cybrei, Craft Racing, Winspace, Caden, Superteam and Elite are cheaper and lighter. The speed of the wheel is determined by the depth and spoke count simple as that.
Hookless wheels are cheaper to make as it is only a 2-part mould whereas hooked rims are a 3-part mould. The above rims I mentioned are all hooked and, in my opinion, much safer and can be installed with lighter tyres. All the wheels including Hunt are made in China and many are from the same factory as Hunt. lol

I am hoping to get my grubby hands on these some way somehow. Unlike some of the other Hunts I've owned, the Sub50s are pretty hefty in price tag however. If I can "borrow" them for a while to share with you my thoughts, I hope you would still have faith in me that I would totally be transparent and honest to keep my end of the bargain regardless.
A big price tag. We will see.
