We have a golf cart sitting that has 4+ battery’s that cost over 400+ a piece oem; and this actually will help because for some reason every once in while the post short and melt away or down into the battery(has happened twice) but my dad hasn’t figured a way to repair without replacing the whole battery this could aid in my case🙏
My 2017 tacoma never had any issues with the battery in the 6 years I owned it. It went through the Texas ice storms, plenty of sweltering Texas summers, and nothing. I traded it in for a new f150 and it's already sending me notifications on my phone to take it for longer drives to recharge the battery and that remote functions are disabled. Nothing was ever disabled, so I'm not sure if it's just a faulty notification or what, but the point still stands. Love that 5.0 anyway.
Battery Terminals don't twist/break off at the top of the Battery Casing, they break internally due to idiots twisting the terminal connection lead. Solution for a non-existent problem. For which acid and acidic vapours will corrode the steel screws due to the molten lead not binding with the cold old lead terminal and creating an internal surface crack at the interface.

No need for those screws. I run a forklift battery warehouse and we burn tons of cables and intercell connecters on batteries all day long. You have the mold fill it with lead entirely. Lead and whatever those screws are have different heating points. Lead dissipates heat rapidly I see that being a void or what we call a cold burn.
I have seen battery terminals that were damaged and needed to be replaced. Not everyone has the money to buy a new correct battery, plus its something that every prepper should know. Knowledge is king.

Doesn't need the screws. Clean top of broken post, use the mould. Pour, job done. We've replaced loads over the years when posts have been damaged, usually from arcing when terminal worked loose. Can 100% repair £200 battery, otherwise scrap.
If only batteries were still made like they used to be. I've heard stories of old farm trucks from the 40's that had the same battery for 30-40 years. Top it off with distilled water and it's good to go.

About 20 years I used to repair 2 to 3 a week customers damaged terminals. People are more careful and use proper tools now, cheap and easily available now.

Да несут какую-то дичь. Отвалится, стартер будет ломаться, кто-то обезжирить нужно. Там температура свинца при заливке в форму явно не 1:1 пока плеснешь с изначальным слоем смешается. Это сейчас пошёл да купил новый акб, раньше по 5,6 лет ездили. В каждой базе аккумуляторщик был. Банка замкнула, вырезал её, поставил другую. Клема отгорела, бочонок от лампы, стартер одел и залил. Ничего не отваливалось.

You can actually melt the base of the terminal and then melt a lead stick on top of it using a torch instead of using the screws which are as good conductors.

Есть и другие способы восстановления. Высверливается отверстие в испорченной клемме, также вставляется заготовка, предварительно разогревается место для заливки жидкообразного свинца или же путём сварки, для чего отливается жидкий свинец по жолобу, подобие электрода для сварки, вставляется в держак , кабель крепится к плюсовой клемме и наваривается клемма в съёмной заготовке. Делается всё в полевых условиях при наличии материала из старых , использованных деталей из свинца. Запомните этот метод, пригодится....

I gotta be honest here, its a cool fix if there ever comes a time when thieves start breaking into cars to get at the led posts on your battery with they're sawzall. The price of Led skyrocketed for some reason. I will say this, thats an awful lot of sparks up close and personal to that 12v hand grenade. I guess this repairer of battery posts is not aware of the fact that batteries vent hydrogen gas. Which doesnt play well with sparks. Ever had a battery explode, itll help you see things in a different perspective.

Cuz the acid in your battery is trash. Change the acid with a good one and you will get a long lasting battery
Keep it fully charged at all times and it will last longer than 5 years. Assuming you have a sealed battery rated to last up to 60 mos.

Не делайте так! Обратите внимания на корпус АКБ он деформируется . Идея хороша, нужно использовать сверло перед этим, и какой либо фиксатор резьбы.

Высверливается отверстие в испорченной клемме, также вставляется заготовка, предварительно разогревается место для заливки жидкообразного свинца или же путём сварки, для чего отливается жидкий свинец по жолобу, подобие электрода для сварки, вставляется в держак , кабель крепится к плюсовой клемме и наваривается клемма в съёмной заготовке. Делается всё в полевых условиях при наличии материала из старых , использованных деталей из свинца. Запомните этот метод, пригодится....
Если уже такое произошло, то нужно покупать новый и сразу!!! Сколько бы ни стоил и надежной фирмы!!!😊

Its mainly a problem you'll see on heavy equipment , 18 wheelers and busses. Ive fixed many of them but never on a personal vehicle.
Ps, the screws aren't necessary.
I mean, it's not necessarily a bad repair, but A: I've never seen a battery that's that badly damaged that this is needed and B: a workshop here would charge you more for this repair than a new battery costs.
If for some reason my battery posts ever got that damaged I'd just use the screws and clamp to those screws 🤣🤣

Great idea, but I would lay a wet rag over the battery so the sparks don't light it up.

I gotta be honest here, its a cool fix if there ever comes a time when thieves start breaking into cars to get at the led posts on your battery with they're sawzall. The price of Led skyrocketed for some reason. I will say this, thats an awful lot of sparks up close and personal to that 12v hand grenade. I guess this repairer of battery posts is not aware of the fact that batteries vent hydrogen gas. Which doesnt play well with sparks. Ever had a battery explode, itll help you see things in a different perspective.

I do this daily as a refresher. I leave the tops of the screws on and use a 1/2 screw. That way I can remove them and put them right back in quick
Wish they would make poles last longer than the battery. Dang poles are always wearing out prematurely.
