An another aproach which I perceive is Put x = cos(theta) and then change the dx in terms of d(theta) and change the limit of theta and new limit according to theta is -π÷2(lower limit) and upper limit is 0 . Then solve you get integration of 2(sin(theta))^2 form -π÷2 se 0 you get your answer, I do this in 30 sec

Multiply and divide by √(1-x)
= ∫ (1-x)/√(1-x²) dx
= ∫ 1/√(1-x²) dx - ∫ x/√(1-x²) dx
= arcsinx + √(1-x²) from 0 to 1
= π/2 -1
