Me too. I miss riding so much but have a major lack of funds due to my wife's health and our location. I hope to change that next summer or summer 2022.
This is still one of the most functioning swaps on TH-cam!! Great job and great choice of motor, imagine a ninja ex500 twin would really get that buggy movin'!!!
that was my plan! didnt want to use huge motor. didnt want to have to make many changes to buggy to fit motor so i went smaller. totally buggy weight was only 486 pounds. taller gear, and it worked out great!
misanthropist111 im wanting to take my 1991 katana 600 motor and throw it into a 2 seater full size go cart. It would be pulling me ( 186lbs ) and passenger. Do you think that motor is big enough?
Nice job, Jeremy!! I have to admit that when first I saw your video, I was skeptical about the "little" 250, but after seeing it in action my jaw dropped open, WOW! So, I ordered the same kart and I'm now looking for a Ninja. It looks like a very clean, simple set up yet, fast, light weight and stable at speed. I was very impressed at stable that chassis is even going twice as fast as it was intended to go. Thanks bro!
This is stunning work. WICKED!! If it were mine I'd put a 10 tooth larger sprocket on the axle and/or 6, + 2 teeth smaller on the output(lessen the load on the shaft bearing too)and get some good crawl speeds out of it. You have way more top speed than you need. Beeee careful.
wll1500 there's a way to put reverse on them, i didnt think it would be worth it though. I dont need it to often. I might add it later on down the road though
Hey Jeremy. Nice job man! I just picked up a KD150 about a month ago and was thinking of doing a motor transplant as well. Only difference is, I'm thinking of using a Honda 200S three wheeler engine. I've had one sitting in my shop for over a year now and figured why not? Pull start, 5 speed with auto clutch. I also have a billet piston, a 200X cam and a T6 exhaust for it that I was going to install on a Honda XR 200R. I ended up selling it and still have the parts. Ditto on the: "could you do a video showing how you mounted the motor, etc". I could really use some good ideas and yours looks like you did it all up to snuff. Nice job and thanks for the video.
200 with the 5 speed should work pretty good. i have a video on my channel of the build. shows some good pics of the mounts. if you need more than that just hit me up and let me know
DAMN, I Didn't realize that motor could get up like that... Man! And Ive had doubts about 250cc 300cc Bikes Shit! and this was in a Buggy too. Great Work Bro
thank you! 250 works really well, damn little thing whines out 16000 rpm. bigger jets in carb, k&N filters, high preformance exhaust and racing gas brought that motor to life!
jim52970 you have to keep in mind that those aren't regular "250cc" its a kawasaki nija engine 250. Way different than your standard go kart engine at 250cc. The thing is fukn awsome!
Jeremy Taelman Hey man do you know what this thing tops out at? I’m thinking about putting a cbr 600 in my buggy but just not sure the speeds I’ll be hitting.
i had a issue with the rear. thats why i waited a season before i got it powder coated. had to make better mounts and reinforce rear, and while i was at it i reinforced front just to be safe.
Michael Woodsdale thanks man, I have one video on my channel on how I put it together. other than that it was all custom work. bought the buggy and a ninja 250 and started building.
Great song choice...one of the best! How did you setup the stereo? Bluetooth speaker or marine audio and speakers? I ended up getting a 150 GMX hammer. The kandi's were out of my price range here in Aus.
It's a system made by boss audio. Ment for motorcycles, it's not marine audio but it's water proof. It uses a small amp that plugs in to your phone or mp3 player.
Thanks Jeremy. I ended up getting a buggy about 6 weeks and rolled it at 50kp/h. Ended up in Melbourne via ambulance with crushed nerves and cut to the bone after my arm went under the roll cage. Rehab now for the next 6 months to get my fingers to work properly again.😨 I have since installed 4 point harnesses and upgraded suspension. Bloody fun things these buggies. Thanks again Jeremy
I'm dropping a ninja 250 engine in an old tao tao extended buggy frame. I am trying to find the best way to account for chain tension. How did you account for chain tension?
600 would be carzy! I think in something like that it would just want to drift all the time (break tires loose). but its also about whats available. I think either motor would work fine.
wow you're genius. nice buggy.. is this thing can go reverse? i want to build one i'm an indonesian i have 2011 ninja 250r do you still need to pull up the clutch when you changing gear? or it's already semi auto?
How do you did this modification? I have a 150cc pgo buggy and I want to change the engine. I like this type of engine! Can you show as how do you that? Thankyou!!!

that buggy would be awesome on the beach, a friend and i have been building a buggy the motor he wants to use is a ninja 1000cc - piranha is the buggy type - and he may end up in the hospital
yes, buggy is costum built. i call it a off road mini buggy kawawaski ninja 250 in description because i used motor from the kawasaki ninja motorcycle.
Hey boss any help on how u did the gear selector. Im useingvthe clutch clip on just like u did but wat did you use to run to the tranny to select the gear.? Thanks
Let's all just take a moment to admire how smooth that dirt road is
it doesnt even look like dirt when he gets moving
its concrete
@@xavmeister99 it still do be dirt doe for a lot of the beginning
Don’t like smooth only muddy and bumpy dirt

Love the sound of the 250 buggy.
I’ve never seen such a perfect build, good stuff!
looks like a really good setup, its proof you dont need a bunch of HP if you have the right gearing.
that was my plan! didnt want to use huge motor. didnt want to have to make many changes to buggy to fit motor so i went smaller. totally buggy weight was only 486 pounds. taller gear, and it worked out great!
whats your gearing. im 16/60 on a r6 motor 24" tire. too much
Yeah thats my thought, I'm gonna make one but with a yz250f engine or a yz250fx..
I just said hell with it and I put a predator

The biggest problem with dropping motorcycle engines into "off road" frames is no reverse....
wll1500 there's a way to put reverse on them, i didnt think it would be worth it though. I dont need it to often. I might add it later on down the road though
I was on a dirt pavement and I couldn’t even reverse my bike
Just turn and burn, it'll slide it around..lol
The reverse gear box for a gy6 seems pretty stout. There is a guy running one on a ninja 750 buggy, and I can't believe it holds.
Does the speedo work or no?
Must be a blast cruising around on that thing with some Stone Temple Pilots going
Gavin Wood that’s creed u moron

Jeremy Taelman np bro
This would be hella fun 250 would all you would need something small pretty compact too love the color of the cart as well badass bro🤟
Cool little buggy dude.
At first I was like ya cool but I would've used a bigger motor like a 500cc. That was until the 3:20 mark!!! 250cc is plenty..
haha, best comment ever! thanks for watching man!

Did you build the chassis or is it off another company? If so which one?
Customized part of chassis and built the swing arm. Started of a kandi 150cc frame and re-did about 50% of it
Shows you dont need a big motor 2 get that thing moving nice engine choice

How is this all set up? From the drive chain/belt and the shifter? I would really love to do this to my exact same kart
This buggy is dope. Do you have a detailed build list for it?
Holy cow this thing rips
what is the wiring like with those engines? did you just get the whole wiring loom?
SED71 built the wiring harness myself
thats pretty cool, im currently having wiring troubles with my project, any chance you have a schematic of your wiring
that gear shift though a skull
That thing is sick.. Is that a custom frame?
part of frame is custom.
What's the original frame?
kandi 150cc
Nice kart, was the engine swap pretty easy?
Nice ! And how do you reverse ?
Thank you. No reverse
I'm dropping a ninja 250 engine in an old tao tao extended buggy frame. I am trying to find the best way to account for chain tension. How did you account for chain tension?
where did you get the frame? I can't find any of them without the engine and all?
bought it brand new, just to tear motor off and fab it to fit the Kawasaki 250. buggy was 1800 new.
kandi 150cc
that's awesome, thanks for the info, would you recommend going with a 250 or 600
600 would be carzy! I think in something like that it would just want to drift all the time (break tires loose). but its also about whats available. I think either motor would work fine.
I'll see what I can find. appreciate the replies. awesome build

Hello I’m in 2021 and is wondering what go kart this is and where u got it so if u would put the link I would appreciate it😊
WoW !!!! Nice place . So huge .
using the stock gear box and reverse has been done many times with much bigger engines
Best go kart ever
wow you're genius.
nice buggy..
is this thing can go reverse?
i want to build one
i'm an indonesian
i have 2011 ninja 250r
do you still need to pull up the clutch when you changing gear?
or it's already semi auto?
thank you. no reverse, but really do not need it. have to pull in clutch to start moving, after that i do not use clutch unless i am stopping.
I would like the buggy cross design
I’m making one of these but with a zx6r 600. How did you sent up your whole clutch handle and everything
If you use a raptor engine you might have a reverse that would be hell of power n torque as well
Very cool, sounds like you need some sprocket changes though in my opinion, geared too high.
That's pretty quick 😜😜😜👍👍👍
hey mate do you leave the engine in the standard specifications or did some major/minor bore up? thx.
Have you ever check out the top speed of the kart with this setup
Man this thing is badass
How do you did this modification?
I have a 150cc pgo buggy and I want to change the engine. I like this type of engine!
Can you show as how do you that?
Thankyou!!!
awesome from motorcycle to bugy
what kind of frame did you use? or was if custom fab?
Logan Irish, kandi 150cc frame, re fabed frame about 40 to 50% custom work
