I highly respect Mr Ghamdi's views on most of the matters. But this explanation of Zulqarnain/dhulqarnain that he gives was originally given by Mr Maudoodi & it feels very tempting to be accepted. Wikipedia amply elucidates the terms Cyrus the great & Dhulqarnain. Iranians have a big claim of dhulqarnain to be cyrus the great. Bible doesn't say dhulqarnain to be bani israel's liberator but cyrus the great and Quran does not call zulqarnain to be Cyrus the great. Hence Zulqarnain's identity remains to be a dilemma. Remember in hebrew the name kurus of Cyrus is koresh!! Confusing! Isn't it. The Arabs already disagree with iranian views on zulqarnain identity to be cyrus. From iran's extension, shias keep the name of zulqarnain on their boys. Maudood's & Ghamdi Sb's views need to be subjected to more scrutiny & verification whether or not cyrus & Zulqarnain are the same guy. Since this view is based on irani's wishful thinking. As for Cyrus he lived some 2550 years ago. Prophet Daniel & his ppl lived some 40 years in Babylon in imprisonment until Cyrus came to their rescue. Cyrus is mentioned in the old testament. Hence the old connection between persia & israelis. Nabu chad Nazar is Bukht e nasar, a Zoroastrian king. He raised the first temple made by Solomon & Romans destroyed the second one made with cyrus help "in a manner that a stone was not left upon a stone". He was Cyrus The Great but he was not Prophet and Allah swt sent Him to Free Jews from Babylonian captivity .
