I love this series with you 2 guys. fine playing from both. You are one of the very best jazz teachers in my opinion. Making it very understandable and put in a real world scenario....I might have to join your patreon:)
Love it men. I allways hear does sounds, and i allways sing it in my head, but never thaught that will be so clear now haha. Thanks so much, the approach is really didactic and clear. Sorry for my bad english 😅
im having a very easy time learning from this. Thanks. Ive put poetry to another thing I learned from you in a different video. Happy to have found this site. Signed, ear trained and self taught player.
Thanks! Really good and encouraging to present this in a progressive (step-by-step) way. That diminished scale would take a lot of work though, at least for me...
Great video mate, made me discover and follow you :) Btw, as you solfege D Harmonic Minor, you were going like "si bemol, do diyez". Bemol-Diyez (flat-sharp) are terms in Turkish as well. That makes me wonder where are you from :)
Am I the only one who finds playing minor 2 5 1's easier more natural and "homey"? Melodies just make sense. on the other hand playing major 2 5 1 for me I find it more difficult to make lines and sound good. always sounds like an exercise!
Cool Stuff! @Rotem Sivan, in Level 7, when using the 2 permutations of the Diminished scale, you end up on the A7 chord using the notes of the H-W diminished scale starting on Bb, while usually it is used the H-W diminished scale starting on A... so you use the Maj7th on an A7 chord. I wouldn't ever think at that usage of the dimnished scale, but it sounds so cool! How's that?
The idea is to use the diminished arpeggio Bb-C#-E-G and play a chosen interval after each note , here a major second down, the first 2 notes are Bb-Ab (wish is indeed a major 7 but the context phrase overrule the harmony) You can use this idea with other intervals like in the next example, a 4th up
Great video. One quick correction though. When you say Diminished scale, You mean Dominant diminished. Diminished: Whole half whole half... Dominant Diminished: half whole half whole...
Level 9 candidate: Em7b5 - Gmi6 diminished scale A7 - Bbmi6 diminished scale Dmi6 - Dmi6 diminished scale Surprised whole tone didn't make it on, or the Night in Tunisia changes.
The best video on this subject. Very clear. Thanks.

G melodic minor over Em7b5, Bb melodic minor over A7(b9) are by far my favorite
Waw useful, thanks. Gabril is awesome

All true & useful. Thank you. Surprised g melodic minor wasn’t discussed for use during the emin7b5 though.
It's great too naturally but wanted to not go wild

really cool stuff Rotem..please post your amazing version of the tune Smile!
Great video, thanks! But it would be much easier to hear what you are playing, if you turned down the reverb a bit. 😉
Nah that’s that corporate bathroom reverb
@@MrHestichs "corporate bathroom reverb" loooool
Excellent!
❤️
Man they were right about the whole don’t be a jazz musician cause you’ll play 3,000 chords in front of 3 people, im the 3rd people
Lol
Great!

What is going on behind the Gibson humbucker?
Good Q
Melodic minor and phygrian minor covers it
Love the video! Title says Em7b7 not b5 though!
Thanks for that! Fixed
Great video. One quick correction though. When you say Diminished scale, You mean Dominant diminished.
Diminished: Whole half whole half...
Dominant Diminished: half whole half whole...
not really an important distinction at all
Virtuoso
Hey man! Love your videos. The only thing that bothers me is when the tabs are down below and I can't quite see them when I pause the video.
Oh I see! Ok good to know
😎
☺️
Do a song together!!!!
The Minor feel me sad
what's your tea recipe?

@@RotemSivanGuitar rainbows in a cup
@@RotemSivanGuitar btw I learnt the harmonc minor scales last night as a result of watching your video. Thanks for the inspiration.
All that reverb sounds like your playing in a tunnel, hard to hear the notes clear for a lesson. Nice information though. Ty
Inevitably, way more interested in wtf happened to that poor guitar.
Shallow…
I’m very shallow…
Too much reverb on red one - it gets muddy
Level 9 candidate:
Em7b5 - Gmi6 diminished scale
A7 - Bbmi6 diminished scale
Dmi6 - Dmi6 diminished scale
Surprised whole tone didn't make it on, or the Night in Tunisia changes.
To much reverb
