I'm currently unsure if Charizard will take the stone or not. It just proved itself better than a Mega Charizard X, so it's pride might compel it to say no. If the decision *does* come down to Charizard anyway.

Honestly, Ash should've had a Mega Charizard in the first place. When I heard about him returning in Unova, I thought we were gonna get an early Mega Evolution. Nope, that didn't happen. This was definitely something that should've happened.

I feel like charizard was used too early as he is way to strong, it would be better if he was used later

Nice, showing that despite not having access to Mega Evolution, Ash's Charizard is strong enough to face off and defeat Alain's Mega Charizard, even if it did seem like a close battle. I also believe that battle would inspire Froakie to not only try to improve himself in battles, but would develop a rivalry and a strong bond of friendship and trust with Ash's Charizard.
I really liked it! Too bad that Ash will lose the chance to own a Talonflame though…. You could still make Ash catch it and he can rotate his pokemon like in Unova. You can make Ash catch his other Kalos pokemon and rotate between them. Hope that he doesnt release Goodra and Greninja in this timeline haha. Also u can make Ash choose to get the other megastone. Like him wanting to take the challenge to look for it alongside Korina in Megastone Island and battle all the strong pokemon there as training prior the League.
I'm really interested to see how this plays out! Great story telling!

I mean, it's been able to survive attacks from Pikachu, so I felt like it taking two hits from Charizard wasn't too much of a stretch (even if people argue that Pikachu gets "reset" every region)
I do like Charizard. It's a freaking Dragon, what isn't there to like?

As always this is great writing, but I just don't really like the concept (yeah I know, controversial opinion), idk I just don't really like Charizard and I think it has had way too much screentime and returns already in the anime

Charizard's Return in Unova was Messed Up because of Shinnoh League!!! Ash just DEFEATS Paul and goes on to FACE Tobias in the Semi-Finals TOP 4!!! Look at Ash's TEAM Heracross, Gible, Torkoal, Sceptile, Swellow, & Pikachu. I Keep asking Where is Ash's Charizard Pokemon Writers?
Sure Heracross is a Good/Great Lead & Counter to Darkrai, Swellow is a POWER HOUSE on in its own Right & with Guts Ability he gets Stronger, Sceptile was the 1st & ONLY One to ever take out Darkrai that thing SWEPT (8 Gyms & NEARLY the Entire Shinnoh League), Pikachu is always a Solid Choice his Partner and one of his STRONGEST 2nd only to Charizard!
I'd say, but Gible & Torkoal are the WEAK LINKS in this Team!
Gible should've been a Gabite at the very least to get a Spot on this Team and even thats IFFY, as for Torkoal it doesn't have a Whole lot of WINS under its belt & should've been replaced with Charizard!!! As for Gible who would you Replace him with? (Pokemon Ash has or has caught?)
Then Going into FRICKEN Unova was just a Diaster, they brought back in Charizard when the League was already done! Where it would've been so Helpful! And because of Ash doing WORSE going down to BEST 8 instead of TOP 4 or Runner up it brought VIEWER SHIP to an ALL TIME LOW, people were PISSED OFF!!!
Thats Right they Brought back Charizard to try and Increase the Ratings!!! Really SHOUTS their Desperation with a MEGA PHONE since they had to bring back Charizard!!!
The Writers/ Higher ups/ who ever is in Charge of the Anime made it WORSE by OAKING Ash's Zard when they were GOING into Kalos & MEGA Evolution!!! Should've just stayed in Charicific Valley at Least there he was getting ACTION from Charla!!!

Also, Tobias said that Gible could've taken out any other member of his team, other than Darkrai. Ash made a good call with Gible
