I’ve been watching this pod for a couple weeks now, and I only just realized you guys are Windsor based, lol. I head Andy mention the Spitz, but I didn’t put two and two together, lol. I moved back here recently myself. It’s great to hear a fantastic local pod about hockey. Cheers.

I've almost always found that when I can get my players to bring up something that was positive on their shift first when they get back to the bench. Before they start to critique their teammates and then they will be more receptive to the advice that you are wanting to give.

I get my kids to talk to each by putting video game headsets on 😂. Andy, thanks for mentioning the greatest goal by Canadians-Gretzky to Lemieux!

The easiest thing to say to help your teammate is saying “time” so they know they have time and not panic.

The academy is 5 days a week plus games, probably averaging 2 games/week. Plus their team if they are competitive is probably 2 practices + 2 games. So my guess is they are on the ice 11 times per week. It’s allot. Plus I bet 6 times/week off ice conditioning.
Plus most kids don’t have an off-season and many only play 1 sport.
