My son just had open heart surgery had an heart aneurysm they removed the aneurysm and repaired the aortic valve. He didn't have any symptoms or no pain he was going to diving school and he had to have a physical they heard a heart murmur that's when they did an echo on him and found the aneurysm. They told him go straight to the hospital. They told him his diving career was over. He was doing recreational diving then he wanted to do Commercial Diving . Now he wants to go to school for Welding. He is very healthy and young. To all of you that are going thru this type of surgery be strong . I'm keeping the families in prayer for their loved ones . It's a very physical and emotional situation.

I apparently have an thoracic aortic aneurysm at 4.4. Just got diagnosed. Swell. I had open heart surgery (tetralogy of fallot) when I was a baby. I'm pretty lucky I've moved through life as healthy as I have. This is still scary though. It feels like a time bomb waiting to go off. I have another CT scan in 6 months. Good luck to everyone else. God Bless.

My son just turned 14 and he was also born with TOF. He had his first open heart surgery when he was 10 weeks old, then another to install an artificial pulmonary valve when he was 6 years old, and this was repaired last year. Three days ago he had his appointment with the cardiologist (who he saw 6 months ago) and now the new concern is that he has aortic root dilation between 30-40 mm. My Sonshine was also born with 22q11 deletion which caused TOF and therefore complicates everything even more. He is amazingly healthy aside from his heart condition and has never taken medication for his heart.... unfortunately now he will start medication today, to lower the blood pressure and prolong the need of a surgery. He had a rapid growth spurt and this accelerated the problem with the artificial pulmonary valve and this new issue as well. He just turned 14 and he's 5'10. He is our world...as parents we are extremely worry, but gotta be strong in front of him. My darling he is amazingly resilient and courageous.but he's also more aware of how serious this is. I admire his maturity and the way he's handling this new situation.
Keeping all of you in my thoughts. Wishing everyone with an aortic aneurysm a speedy recovery.

Phenomenal video, thank you so very much! My bicuspid aortic valve has carried me a long way over 46 years but now my regurgitation is moderate with an ascending aorta measuring 4.7 cm (at the level of the pulmonary artery). My left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) measured 20 mmHg during a left heart catheterization (left ventricular manometry) on Monday. The good news is that I have angiographically normal coronary arteries. In other words, my aorta is still jacked up but my other arteries are good. There's always good news if you look hard enough! Ha! Trying to get an appointment with one of these world-class surgeons to make this another thing I got to go through once. I'm looking forward to moving this process forward! Thanks again, Cleveland Clinic!

Abdominal aortic aneurysm was what my grandfather had, he just passed away this Christmas, and its so sad that I'd never see him again, it was due to the strain of continuous daily smoking too, we tried to help mediate it but it was too late, at the operating desk, the doctor said he had the aorta at 8cm thicness which was triple what it should've been, and he couldn't make it, due to him not wanting the surgery for his age and also that it would keep affecting him even if it went smoothly, but his passing was sudden and too few goodbyes were said, it is truly a tragic Christmas this year for my whole family 😢😥

I have an ascending aortic aneurysm diagnosed in May. I received two different sizes 4.5 cm and 4 cm. at that time. I then went for a second opinion and got 4.3 so doctor wanted to do another CT. That time I got 4cm. I don't know what to believe. I have my six month follow up next month so we will see what comes of that. I'm deep down not comfortable with this thing so close to my heart. But on the other hand they grow slow so that's a good thing. This video is fantastic. It shows a very clear and concise picture of the aorta and I've been searching for something like this to clearly see the location. Fantastic.

I have yet to be diagnosed with anything and the medical community is indifferent with any regard.
I am going to die. I have to face it. There is no one that is going to rescue me.
If you have doctor's that care, good for you.
I have no one to help me, personally or professionally.
