Watching from Perryville At.just did a piece of old barn wood with sum home rimidy unicorn spit I had made lol turn out pretty cool .it's a lot of fun to do also .and love your info also very informative thanks
Don't shake polycrylic or polyurethane, you introduce bubbles into your finish that can be almost impossible to avoid, always stir until well mixed. After properly mixing either polycrylic or polyurethane, pour it through a paint strainer and apply it with an HVLP spray gun, apply thin coats, and the previously applied, and dried, Unicorn Spit will not run. It's a lot less expensive than using a lacquer finish.
I can't see a big difference between the left hand side and the right hand side. Might just be the resolution on screen. What do you recommend for ceiling the unicorn spit after you're finished staining it?
If you dilute with a water based top coat, you can seal with waterbased topcoat. If you are diluting with water or using straight, seal with any oil based topcoat, poly, urathane, wax, epoxy, boiled linseed oil…ect…
If I were to paint a picture with my unicorn spit onto an old closet door that’s been primered, could I use a wax of some type to seal it? The table is going to have a cream color background so it will be light and I’m afraid of all the oil based polys turning it a yellowing color! This will be used for my craft table. I don’t want it to look yellowed! Thank you for any suggestions.
So if I use Unicorn Spit (I make flags) straight out of the bottle and not mixing it with a base and after everything is dry if I brush on water-based Varathane Urethane to protect my flags from UV rays, etc will the Spit take the sealant okay or will there be issues and will my red stripes start running into the White stripes?
Please stir, not shake clear topcoat products. Shaking produces bubbes that you will then transfer onto your project. When the bubbles pop as the product dries, you will have tiny circles left to deal with.
Can i paint on a floor? I'd like to do the blue mostly with a few boards an emerald green, not using the polycrylic but sealing with an oil based polyurethane. It would be a kind of high traffic area. Can it hold up? I don't want to sand the floors just clean with TSP probably to take off any build up from the years
We haven’t crowned them with the Unicorn SPiT crown yet. They are still hand brewed by Michelle. Once the formulas are finalized, they will get crowned & made by Eclectic Products & distributed around the world.
I use a variety of different oil based topcoats. Wax, hemp salve, penetrating oils, lacquer, urethane, polyurethane.... as long as its oil based, it’ll work.
Can we just paint the spit on without the poly? Then after the painting is dry add a layer of poly? I would think that would be the same then mixing together? Also it gives you the ability to blend the colors
In my opinion yes.. the poly being added thins the spit plus cuts out a second step of applying the poly. Personally I like using water spray when blending the spit then apply poly after dried. Just a different technique
@@joycehawkins5811 Yea I feel like its just better to make it a 2 step over adding it in my opinion simply because it looks a litter darker and also blendable

Amazing how vibrant those stains are on wood.
We think so too 😘

I can’t find where to buy the copper, which is one color I don’t have. I see no links. Love this video! Love Unicorn Spit! ❤️

It is a concept color that goes under the ARTiSTiC ViVATiONS brand.

In my experience, the only time whites yellow is if you use the products that are made with a UV protectant ie. indoor/outdoor sealers.

When using straight or diluted with water seal with an oil based topcoat.
Hi, I love watching you! Can you add epoxy glitter to the SPIT? And what kind of sealer do you need for a counter top?
Yes! No more than 1 part Unicorn SPiT to 10 parts epoxy. Anymore will inhibit it for hardening.
What should I use to seal children's puzzles that I have painted with Unicorn SPiT?
Any oil based sealer.
If you're doing a furniture piece one solid color can you still use a water based top coat since you're not worried about it smearing or transferring
Have you tried adding the US to OIL based Minwax? AND if so, does it act like that 3D from the Formbys?
I want the wood grain to show through, what concentration of spit to water do I need to use?
About 3-10 depending on how deep you want the color.

From what I’ve seen yes you can. I seen a whole room done in the most beautiful blue
@@Pugmamaof3 I bet that was stunning!!! Would love to see that! Thank you for letting me know 😊
In Pinterest search unicorn spit flooring
@@Pugmamaof3 I love Pinterest and didn’t even think of that!
What about mixing with modge podge?
I might try that and see what happens
So will this work with acrylic paint too?
my mind went there also... its sure worth a try!
Very cool
Can you create a self-sealing spit by mixing it with an oil-based sealer like the one you showed in this video?
You can tint soft wax & salves but not oil based clear coat. Oil & water just don’t mix perfectly.
Can this be used outdoors with the oil
Silver Beats Gold you can’t mix SPiT with an oil based very well. It is like water & oil. But you can go straight SPiT them seal with an oil based.
Where will I get metallic paint in the UK? I can only find the regular colours

What type of oil based sealer is that? Having a hard time finding the right type that isn’t too yellow.
Wax is a great option if you are worried about yellowing.
Is this acrylic ink? How thick is it? Can I use it on miniature painting?
Unicorn SPiT is plastics free. No acrylic, latex or any polymers. Pure, concentrated pigment.
Where can I find the metallic colors?
Micheals!
Rebecca from Las Vegas
So I need to go return my polyacrylic
Dayna Holmes seal UNiCORN SPiT with an oil based top coat if you do not mix with a waterbased sealant.
Can you use this on canvas? Please reply
Maria Cooke you can use UNiCORN SPiT on canvas.
I’ve seen a few TH-cam tutorials. I feel like mixed media girl has tried it?
May I ask how long it took to dry? Starting my project this weekend
About an hour. All depends on humidity & air circulation.
What is the name of the oil based seal?
I use a variety of different oil based topcoats. Wax, hemp salve, penetrating oils, lacquer, urethane, polyurethane....
as long as its oil based, it’ll work.

Driving Crazy shaking the poly ...if you do this do not shake it.
😭she shook it
Every time. 🥳
It's polycrylic not polyAcrylic. There's no A. Sorry 😊
Judy Jude I’m a ding bat sometimes. Thank you for the correction.
Oh you’re going to be busy for a really long time then
