Great plans ahead love your ideas I'm with you can't do cuffs gorgeous fabric happy sewing 😊😊
Thank you! 😊
I love that you discovered gaps in your wardrobe while on holiday. The perfect time to plan your next makes 🤩
Perfect time to think
I love the the deeper pink double Gauze, I hope you had the best time on your hols! What you are wearing really suits you! I think the colours are really complimentary 🙂 looking forward to seeing how your trousers turn out whichever you pick. Enjoy seeing your daughter lovely!
That pink is so you. Hope you’re flying through your holiday makes better you can’t wait x
Shopping while on holiday = fabulous 😂
It’s the law 😂
Ha ha. I love getting home from holiday to plan the next one. You are funny xxx
A suits the holiday law 😂
Enjoyed the holiday posts! I do like the Zadie although it can be tricky to get shoulders to lie right but it is a lovely shape.
I might needs some tips
👏🏻👗
I love the idea for an over shirt as a cover up. I’ll be very interested to see your version. I made a little top in DG recently and found the neck was a bit stretchy so tips on avoiding that would be very helpful. Really liked the bright pink and the green.
Your holiday outfits looked great too btw. Really ‘put together’. Thanks for the vlog. 😀
Double gauze can sometimes grow a little - I’ve got some fabrics that do and others that don’t 🫰 these ones don’t
@@SewLikeDotty ooo interesting so maybe it’s down to their quality. I’ll check out my other pieces of DG. Thank you.
“I don’t allow myself to exceed” I wish I had this will power 😂 but great plans and looking forward to seeing in particular the throw over shirts!
Well I try 😂
Love your plans Alison, can’t wait to see your makes x
Thanks x
I love all the double gauze plans and I’ve used the grey double gauze from Rainbow fabrics for a skirt for my daughter. It came out much better than I’d thought as it was so much more stable than other double gauze I’d used. I envy you the pink. Lovely colour.
Pleased it worked Trish I had the charcoal it came together nicely
Love your new fabrics and sewing plans. I am not buying anything at present. I am forcing myself the sew patterns I own and fabric from my stash, which has grown recently. In the past three weeks, I have made three blouses, four jersey tops and three cami style nighties. Next I plane to make navy linen Saguaros, trousers only, an Anza jumpsuit, two more Westcliffe dresses, a Mave skirt, and a Shelby dress. Housework is on hold 😂
Wow you’ve been/are busy. There’s always time for housework another day 😂
Love your vlogs Alison - very honest and true and relate to many of us . I too was people watching in Majorca and came away with gaps and ideas for holiday wear. So much inspiration this gives and I too purchased DG from Dressmakers closet 😀xx
Oooo lovely- what are you going to make x
Like yourself Alison oversize shirts for cover ups and to wear with wide leg pants - did a lot of people watching 😂and def saw what was on trend - wide leg pants / oversized shirts/ co ord sets
What fun! So love your videos ❤
Yay! Thank you!
Happy you’ve had a fabulous holiday ☀️ love your plans and the fabric from Jayne is a beautiful colour 🥰
Currently in the machine it’s gorgeous
Great time to plan some holiday/summer pieces, whilst you have lots of inspiration around. Love DG, but always wondered if it would bag on the knees, with trousers. Looking forward to seeing all your makes, especially the Zadie shirt
It might - I will soon know but I find linen does too. It should re shape when washed it it does though
Will see what it does and mention it on a vlog x
Absolutely love the ideas here! What a great plan for a double gauze shirt, definitely got me 🤔
Thank you 😊
Love your thinking and new fabrics. I have just made the Tamarara(?) set from Swim Style patterns and whilst I love it there are some changes I would make. I don’t like the trouser pockets and the shirt does not need a full collar stand and collar for the look the outfit creates. Instructions and pattern pieces were really good though and it all came together beautifully. Just need a holiday to wear it now!!! Happy Sewing 😊. Lynne
I love the look of the Tamarara my friend has it, but I’m not sure if she’s made it yet
Love that deep pink double gauze❤. I'm feeling abit over whelmed as I have about 14 items on my to do list. Currently making or cutting out a Belen bodysuit... But I bought the new Atelier Jupe Ava dress and I want to make a Kielo wrap dress, just waiting for the pattern to be delivered. 😂😊Too many plans and not enough time 😕
I get that I felt like that before my holidays so I wrote a list and put everything in priority of what was needed first and just worked through as much of it as I could x

Will have a look 👀
I've noticed so many ladies wearing a shirt over their tshirts, shorts/summer slacks this year now that the weather is warming up. I plan on making a few lightweight shirts to wear on cooler mornings and evenings rather than a cardigan. Love the idea of using the double gauze. I have put myself on a fabric buying ban this year. Well actually I've bought a few thrifted pieces but not any brand new fabric. I do have one piece of double gauze I bought a couple of years ago and now i know what to make with it, a shirt.
Perfect 😊
Be wary when ironing the fabric with gold spots - they may disappear . . . ask me how I know. A lesson in testing on scraps.
I got some from the swaps table at sew toon last year and I learned that lesson too. I think they will be trousers they can get away with less pressing than the shirt
xXX 👍👍👍
