Hands down the best documentary I've seen in along time and Ive seen almost every great sports documentary out there but the real life sopranos come on what's better than that plus hockey!! Great great watch.
Grew up in Danbury during this time and it was amazing. These guys are what had me playing hockey as a kid at the ice rink. Was so sad when the team left but have awesome memories.
I don't think they ever let off that he was a moron. Just way too immature (as most/all of us would have been @ 17) to run a semi pro hockey squad. And let's be real, if they weren't cheating and funneling money into players on the side, the Trashers probably would have been awful. But let's all thank god that's not what happened lol.
I randomly watched the doc Tuesday night after work and then saw the interview today. and I’m just like Pat, expected the worst for AJ and really became a big fan of his. amazing
Danbury used to play my home town team the Quad Cities mallards. Those games were so incredible. The fights that would happen were unbelievable. My god they were so bloody lol Watching this documentary took me back to being in middle school going to games with my dad it was awesome!!
for real, heard about this from the show yesterday, watched it last night, then homie is on the show next day. Hot fire boys. Amazing doc, especially as a former youth hockey player mighty ducks fan. Deff thought AJ was gonna be a huge tool then completely won me over. Classic dont judge a book by its cover
Felt right at home during this interview. Great documentary and a stand up guy. He was a smart kid and I don't think he gave himself enough credit. What a hell of a guy to offer jerseys to the staff at the end. A friend of ours 😉
this guy was made for the media totally a likable guy. you would never expect him to be such a conversationalist. that’s truly what’s gotten him to this level the way he carries himself.
@@eureka0521 I also remember when the trashers got disbanded. The town was so bummed, it was literally the thing to do in town. Danbury is a small city, but it doesn’t have a lot to do other than the mall, so when they left it was a bummer. They have a new minor league team called the jack rabbits or something, but I don’t know how many people actually go to watch lol.
This interview was the first thing I watched after that documentary. I just want to hear him tell more and more stories. He’s got very good banter. We need him on spittin chicklets
Absolutely amazing movie! What a great guy Jimmy is! Did so much for Aj and all the guys. Mafia man or not there is no doubt he has a big heart and people love him. The only reason the government went after him was the fact that he was beating them at their own games. We bought some trashers hoodies from barstool right after watching lol. If this movie could be the gateway to reform the trashers that would be awesome!
This is the content I needed. Thank you! Watched the doc last night. As a hockey fan, that was such a fun documentary. Glad you brought Italian-AJ on to the show for some follow ups!
Best doc Pat has ever seen….? Jesus is it the 4th documentary he’s watched in his entire life? Not saying it’s a bad documentary by any means, it’s extremely entertaining but it’s by no means anywhere the best documentary on sports even.
Man I miss going to Trasher games as a kid. I hope I run into AJ to thank him for all the fun in my hometown. And pat its pronounced Dan-Berry not Dan's bary
He was not lying but everyone I played a wrestling game and the last one I played was the WCW game 0n PS1 I always used the bad /Cool guys basically Sting , Goldberg, and Gold dust lol
What kind of sucks is that AJ had talent as a front office guy. The brutal bad guy image aside, the Trashers were actually a good team in the two seasons they played.
“This broad came in and just ate all our hamburgers” had me dying at work today
Dude needs to make Danbury Trashers jerseys available for purchase.
I just saw some when I googled the team.
They have a website where they sell jerseys but they are sold out
Barstool has t shirts and hoodies.
McAfee has got the camo jersey
@@team_1j_jont-179 we don’t want a Barstool logo on it, we want their jersey. Barstool had nothing to do with it.
Watched last night and told myself I hope Pat and the Boys get him on the show soon... y’all deliver the very next day.
same situation! i listen to the podcast version at work and when he said "we got AJ gilante on" i was stoked! literally watched it 8 hours prior
Literally same
Same here
That's because this is the best fuckin daily show PERIOD.
Not a close second.
This guy was a great interview. Definitely have him back again!
Pat always finds the most interesting guests
This could be a 6 parter
Gonna be hard to find a reason to bring him back.

I grew up in Bethel and remember wanting to play hockey because of them. Since CT usually chooses Boston or New York it was nice to have a local team.
love how they set him up like a huge moron and then he absolutely kills it, great story.

@@kcvlt3 I exaggerated lol I feel ya...it's still a fun story, even he admitted he lets people believe what they want
@@unwelcomemotivation dude, Pat aint lyin'... best doc since The Last Dance. Short and sweet. I'm from CT and vaguely remember this story.
@@kcvlt3 how did they cheat?? Other than the money laundering and paying under the table??
I know I almost didn’t watch it cuz I thought he was going to be a douche but love the guy. Authentic dude

Same
This was the best documentary! Addictive!! T Bone is electric!!
The best part is AJ never stopped being himself. He had a punk appearance but all around he was a nice good dude in the end, totally surprised me.
Danbury used to play my home town team the Quad Cities mallards. Those games were so incredible. The fights that would happen were unbelievable. My god they were so bloody lol Watching this documentary took me back to being in middle school going to games with my dad it was awesome!!
I went to a few mallard games in 2018 when i was at St. Ambrose and that place was absolutely electric!!
Mallards 😆 🤣 gtfo

This was such a great netflix doc. Had no idea about this til this interview. How cool. What a great interview
I’ve never heard of this guy!!!
But,
He was electric!! ⚡️ 💯
Got emotional when Jimmy surprised winger at the end of the doc. And the big tough guy shedded some tears when he reunited with Jimmy 🥲 amazing work

Best god damn interview in pat mcafee show history. 💯
It blows my mind that I just learned of this whole story a day ago.. Thanks Netflix
This guy is a walking “don’t judge a book by its cover”
Damn! He crushed this interview. Documentary blew me away
When I first saw the “kid” I was like oh here we go. Never judge a book by its cover, I love this man! He has the it factor he is money! 😂
Chyna ate all his hamburgers! Priceless! This documentary was absolutely amazing! If you haven’t seen it you’re missing out!
Literally grew up a block away from the ice rink. The environment at that time was incredible.
did you go to a game?

I loved that doc it was great I think I could watch it a million times over
Went to one of the games in high school, it was so fun. This was a tough team and the crowd loved it
The Trashers doc is arguably the craziest/most compelling sports doc of all time.
It's great that one day Mike Rupp scores tye goal to win a cup for the devils and then he is with the Danbury trashers during the nhl strike year.
"Drives an oil truck" yeah, gotcha 😉😉😂
between the last two nights of hype, now I need Netflix just to watch this.
Whelp, I need to hunt down a Trashers jersey 😂
my son has played tourneys last two summers in danbury arena. now that i know this story, i appreciate.
Being from CT, seeing "Dansbury" hurts my soul
The one time something good happens in Danbury they spell it wrong lmao
Awesome documentary! I've watched it 3x 🗑️🏒👏

Watched the documentary last night, because of Pat. This dude just oozes cool. Hope he comes back!
I was 12 and I remember watching the Trashers when they came to play the QC Mallards. My mom absolutely hated them lol
Good stuff guys, great interview
Pat is a breath of fresh air
Can this guy be a regular? He is electric
Just watched this last night. Top 5 for sure
S/O to Danbury CT!!
This interview was the first thing I watched after that documentary. I just want to hear him tell more and more stories. He’s got very good banter. We need him on spittin chicklets

Yeah Jimmy seems like a cool dude and a hell of a father
Spelled Danbury wrong lmao CT proud live across the street from the ice rink
Bro you live at the skate park or the parking garage? Lmao good to see Danbury out here
This guy is a legend!
I love the coach the guy smoking the cigar
Chyna was jacked. She definitely ate those burgers.
The Netflix doc was so dope to watch

Pat told me to watch the documentary now I'm telling everyone to watch it. Good stuffed. Hated him at the beginning now I respect AJ
I watched this to actually know who Aj Galante is after watching on NXT escorting Tony D’ Angelo 😂 Dude is funny af

Insanely good doc. WWE meets Mighty Ducks getting paid thousands over cap under the table.
What a interesting and impressive dude
What kind of sucks is that AJ had talent as a front office guy. The brutal bad guy image aside, the Trashers were actually a good team in the two seasons they played.
Bro. It's Danbury. Not Dansbury lol.
Does anyone remember the wwe game on ps2 where the wrestlers had different special cars and it was basically a derby that game was so good to me
Crush hour
Great game
Fuckin great doc, watched immediately after this show. Cried at 4 mins left, I'm ready to trash somebody right now...
This dude’s actually hilarious wtf
I live just outside danbury and we used to get our trash taken out by this JACKED dude named "rocky" for aws... All makes more sense now 🤣
What a guy

It was a great documentary.
Wish there was more Frank the Animal in the document. But it was awesome!!!
