    Coming from a toxic dysfunctional family without any religion, as a newly found Christian its apparent to me that this family is giving me the blueprints on how to have a Christ centered family. And not a self centered family. Their is a huge difference. This is what i want when I have a family! Your whole family is blessed and beautiful. Thank you so much!

    So blessed by this! As a mum to 3 who is guilty of the yelling and “threats”, and feeling like I failed to meet these unspoken expectations, you have no idea how much this spoke to me.
    I was listening to this as I was packing up the mess in the home and I had to stop what I was doing bcos I kept breaking down in tears haha!

    Yes when God forgives me, He chooses to remember my sin/offense no more, in the sea of forgetfulness. So we too need to follow suit, forgive others and choose not to focus nor rehearse the offence in your mind ever again, as our Heavenly Father does. ❤

    Hi family Bevere,
    Thanks so much for the great content and also your authenticity! Writing to you here from the Netherlands, our (my wife and I) question would be:
    In this day and age, now living in a time in which pornography is so accessable and in which the world's view on sexuality & gender is so different to ours, when do we start talking to our kids about sexuality? Our oldest is 3,5 years old now and that seems very young still. However, we want her to hear what God says about relationships and sexuality first, before she hears other things elsewhere.
    She's going to start going to school when she turns four and of course she'll have play dates at friends houses where there are older brothers and sisters. We would like to hear your insights on how to navigate this: not being too protective and fearful but on the otherhand also being wise. Another question is: are there some ways/specific questions we can ask our child to have her share about her world and what she experiences. Much will be going on that we don't see or hear of unless she shares it with us. How do you grow this dynamic at a young age already?
    (sorry, there's more than 1 question in there hahaha)

    I would actually like to go deeper.
    My husband and I are healing damage the world did to us and that we did to ourselves before our marriage.
    We are wanting to bring God into every aspect of our marriage including our sex life and wanting to know what's going to help that journey and what's going to hinder it. Thing's like;
    -oral, anal 😅.
    -when only one spouse is in the mood
    - when you're in a season of drought and it's more like a chore (for lack of a better way of phrasing that)
    -how to shift from the goal being just the orgasm and changing to it becoming the joyous experience God intended for us
    And more in-depth stuff that is so rarely discussed in the church as its often still viewed as taboo. But for couples that have been really damaged by the world and need help there aren't many avenues to get that help.

    Okay, what do you guys think about this really trendy parenting style called "gentle parenting". I see a lot of reels on social media about it?! From what I understand, you don't say the word "no" to your child, you redirect as much as possible. You also let your child share and say sorry when the child feels like it. The theory is that forcing your child to say sorry or share is wrong because it's not coming from the heart and it's not genuine. This can lead to resentment because the parents don't let the kids express their true emotions or feelings at that moment in time. I wish I could dive more into this but that's basically the gist of it!
    In my personally opinion I dont agree with "gentle parenting" but all my friends, church mom groups, even some family members are on this trend! Am I not getting the picture ?!

    • @Mr.Goodkat
      @Mr.Goodkat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why do you not agree with it, if I may ask? what is the flaws in doing what you describe in your opinion?

    • @zivotsbohomWASABI
      @zivotsbohomWASABI 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I tried to do the gentel parenting for few years, didnt work for us. we were constantly exhausted, kids had little manners etc. Few months ago I discovered Dobson's new edition books and our home changed. kids are happier, house is calmer and parents are more rested :) Gentle parenting is not for everybody, i would say, it is meant for perfect kids and perfect parents, that our family is not :D My kids even thanked me for changing the rules!

    • @Mr.Goodkat
      @Mr.Goodkat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zivotsbohomWASABI You never got to the bottom of why they had little manners, any punishment is never ever the answer and is immoral just because it resulted in what you said doesn't mean the end's justified the means.

    • @jessicabracegirdle2786
      @jessicabracegirdle2786 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think like any parenting strategy, you take from it what resonates with you and works for you, and turf the rest. I spent about 7 months in a Christian Gentle Parenting FB group, I learnt some great ideas that I still use now. I also found a lot of things I didn’t agree with. Coming from a more authoritarian upbringing, it was really helpful for me to learn things that helped relax my parenting and find a style that tbh is more biblical. I also found some good nuggets of wisdom in Have a New Kid by Friday, and loads on Raising Giant Killers.
      So to answer your question, yes some people take gentle parenting to the extreme and don’t give their children boundaries, but that is not the true gentle parenting way. True gentle parenting is about giving boundaries, natural consequences, having conversations about the why of things, and loads of modelling. I probably lean more towards gentle parenting nowadays, it taught me to listen to my children and help them to process their emotions, and gave me permission to lay with my children to get them to sleep when they needed it. I am still very firm with the rules, and there are definitely consequences. I speak to my girls about it being my job as their mum to protect and empower them, and this has framed a lot of good conversations with them. Mine are 6.5 & 4.5 for your reference 😊
