    Chris, have you ever heard of the "belt drill" ? Take your belt off and wrap it around your waist and right elbow. This helps me rotate and use my body/pivot more.

    So Chris, the angle that the hips move on is obviously not level but a feel of the front hip going down while the back goes up and behind you? Thanks you are the best out there.

    I understand what your saying. But I can’t do it. I’ve tried and tried and tried and tried. There is something that happens when I put a ball there that causes everything to stall out or I can’t hit the ball.

      @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan  ปีที่แล้ว

      What is happening? Can you be more clear on what is causing everything to stall.

    • @bcranes1
      @bcranes1 ปีที่แล้ว

      I too have struggled with the stall. For me it was my failure to recognize that the arm swing should happen on the right half of the body. Trying to get arms in front was stalling the hips in a bound up, high effort feeling.

      @@NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan I lose posture. I stand up too much. Even when I exaggerate the side bend. Then I think just turn the lower body and do nothing with the hands at all, I end up looking like I am holding a hose out in front. I flip. Handle doesn’t raise. Ball goes left of target line. Looks like over the top but it’s a reverse plane swing. I go under them get on plane. It looks awful, it’s inconsistent. I’m a +.1 hcp and I just can’t be consistent either with off the tee or on approach. It’s maddening. Hands are never ahead of the clubhead much last impact. I extend what seems very late. Hope that helps.

      @@NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan I’m pretty sure from your video here that I’m trying to rotate. Which causes the shoulder movement first. Then it goes too fast and I have to stall out to let the hands pass. I get tension in the hands at all and then it goes bad. Trying to do nothing with the hands and let them come through on their own. But when I do that I still don’t look like I’m rotated.

    Our arms weigh as much as 40 pounds. When we move our 40 pounds of arm weight up and to our side, of course the autonomic, (subconscious) balance mechanism takes over(if we let it) and our feet and legs
    pivot around the right hip in BS, and pivot around the left hip in DS(if we let it) as a result of the movement of 40 pounds of arm weight.
    Attempting to consciously control movement of hips during the 1/4 second DS is a fools errand.
    There is time for only a singular intention to trigger the complex chain action, at top of BS, just before DS begins. Want to waste it on hip turn?

    Great tuition. Thanks Chris (finally someone cutting through the rotation BS)

    Ā complicated way of saying that the hips must rotate on a tilted plane

    You have to fix your microphone. It's far too close to your mouth maybe, cuz I really don't need to listen to you breathe. Content being taught is solid but I'm so distracted by the sound I can't focus on it. lol
